Great French and Swiss food selection including traditional Khmer. Very clean with wonderful staff in a classic colonial era building, great location, not a busy street but enough local sights. Worth the experience just for sitting outside enjoying the coffee. 

A lovely old world charmer.

We only spent 4 days in Kampot and had a meal either at the hotel or from Nham24 everyday. 

The food is top quality, delicious and refreshingly authentic to its Swiss/Cambodian identity. 

Personally, I love the Swiss Sandwich on a hot day. Sorry no pics other than that of the terrace - to busy 

Great Food Fusion of Swiss/Cambodian Cultures

We spent four nights in this very nice colonial house. Cedric is a charming host, along with all his small-care staff. We had a nice terraced room, very clean. Excellent price ratio. The location is ideal. We will be happy to come back!!

Great stay in this beautiful colonial home.

Kampot is a very pleasant city, with a relaxed/vacation atmosphere.The Hotel du Soleil, under the direction of Cédric Racine, is one of the beautiful discoveries of our trip to Cambodia: impeccable cleanliness, delicious cuisine, friendly staff. Go there with your eyes closed, you will not be disappointed!

What a wonderful discovery.

We took one of the three bedrooms of this hostel which also has a restaurant and bar, very nicely decorated, minimalist bathroom. The staff is smiling and flattering and the boss is very friendly.

Simple and easy to use

Old French style building with dark hardwood, but kept up very well and full of all mod cons.

We had the top floor which is a huge room, two giant king size bed‘s. Huge room with a sitting area the only downside is it obviously takes a while to cool off but the air-conditioner does work great.

Had an issue on our first night were there was no water however iMessage the owner and he took care of the situation very quickly and was very apologetic the next day. It was no big deal really.

For the price it would be nice if a small breakfast was included as it is in many places in Cambodia, however that doesn’t reflect my five star rating.

I love that they provide the tea kettle with tea coffee creamer etc. and two bottles of water in the mini fridge. These are always nice touches.

Wonderful hot shower with shower door, a very rare thing to find in these parts

Kampot is a cute little relaxing town on the river I highly recommend going there. Not a whole lot to see but it is very charming and not super touristy. If I come back to Cambodia I would definitely skip ko rong and the terrible Sihanoukville just come back here instead. 

Great big room, good a/c, lots of charm

What a joy

My wife and I stayed here 2 years ago, and then again this year. We got the same amazing room with its huge bathroom and long, spacious balcony, so we were very happy. The bed is comfortable, and there's more storage space (just) than on our last visit. The air-conditioner leaks, but we were told about it in advance, and it really didn't bother us. For the central location, this hotel cannot be faulted, and the do really good food in the downstairs restaurant, too.

A wonderful place to stay

We stayed 3 nights in this hostel, in the room with balcony. Everything is set up to have a good time, from the charming, clean and very well located room to the smiling and friendly staff, with a attentive and attentive manager. As for the restaurant, a treat!!

A peaceful, charming hostel and excellent restaurant

Beautiful old building in a lovely part of town. The owner/host and staff were lovely. Try the in-house restaurant. The French-=Swiss owner is also a chef - steak and chips were so good I had it two nights in a row! Highly recommended!
