I had such a great experience at Baddeck Inn over the weekend - the owner was so thoughtful and accommodating! He exceeded my expectations! The room was very clean! The bed was really comfortable and the view of the lake was really nice! I would highly recommend your stay with Baddeck Inn!

Great Place to unwind!

We booked by email on July 10th and this email was considered our confirmation without having to give us our credit card number which is rare these days. A small well-maintained motel with only a few rooms and all with a beautiful view. The motel is located high on a hill. There is no breakfast on offer. There is a Tim Hortons just below a walking distance. So I was able to pick up coffee and something to support our breakfast. The gentleman welcomed us very kindly. The wifi was nice and our room was clean and comfortable. We had a heating option in front of our rooms. We were less than an hour away from this time to take our trip to Port Nevis, because we would be looking for $15.15 to pay our taxes on this trip from Sydney to Northwestern Canada.

We really liked this motel.

The rooms have a Beautiful view of the Bras D'or Lakes! It is Located right beside Tim Hortons! And a gas station!  Great, friendly owners and Staff, right off the Trans Cananda Highway! 2 minutes from down town Baddeck! Clean Rooms, great Service! 

We will be back! 

We stayed for 4 nights and we very happy.  The rooms were clean.  It was great sitting outside on the back patio looking at the water while having my coffee in the morning and finishing my busy day with a glass of wine.  I was very happy I stayed and plan to go back next year.  As a bonus Tim Hortons is a stone throw away.

Baddeck Inn

Travelling by motorcycle, we pulled into the Baddeck Inn just outside of the hustle and bustle. Quite, clean and a warm welcome. Patio chairs placed just outside our patio doors to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Just past the gas bar and off the highway.

We reserved for six days starting today. They are closed! They don’t answer their phone, there’s a sign on the door saying We’re Closed. The highway sign out front has been taken down. We reserved a few months ago, and I confirmed the reservation a month ago. 
We were never contacted/informed.

Dishonoured Reservation

A small motel two steps from the city centre located directly on the golden arm lake, exceptional views of the lake surrounded by greenery and small lilies, nature and calm reign there. Very affordable price and impeccable cleanliness.

Good price, good view

Not recommended, we were very disappointed in the Baddeck Inn staff, made reservations for 2 nights August 21 and 22nd through one of  the hotel sites, which by the way our reservation was confirmed, this reservation was made a week and a half earlier, before we left home, we are a 2 day drive away.  Now we are in Nova Scotia and on August 19th received an email from the Baddeck Inn telling us that they could not accommodate us for both nights. Very disappointed and not very impressed as we came form out of province with expectation of a room for 2 nights.  And having read that there are drop ins that get a room, also I know for a fact that they keep a block of rooms for drop ins but they cannot accommodate or honor our reservation.

This inn is not new by any means but it’s well-kept.  The location is excellent—on a hill over-looking Bras d’Or Lake.  There was a small patio area outside the sliding glass doors.  Unfortunately, we arrived late so didn’t have much time to take advantage of this feature.

Wi-fi was available but service was unreliable.

An ok room with a great view

We jumped in the car and drove toward Cape Breton with no plans to stay anywhere but our vehicle, if it came down to it. I was warned multiple times to book ahead but we didn't want a schedule. Lucky for us this place had a vacancy. It was almost 9pm, we just finished a lobster dinner and didn't feel like driving anymore. The Baddeck Inn had a flashing sign at the end of the driveway with $99 a night and vacancy. 
The driveway goes around back where the rooms are and office door. In the dark the office was not light up so it took us a minute or two to figure it out. An older gentleman greeted us and said he had one vacancy; double bed. Wasn't what we hoped but "beggers can't be choosers."
The room was decent. Beautiful view! Bathroom was very clean. Carpet could use an update and beds were firm. Linen was clean and smelled good. 
Breakfast is included. Be kind and wash your dishes please.
This inn gives more of a B&B vibe. The staff were extremely friendly and the guests just as so. 
Great for a quick over nighter and a wonderful view .. and did I mention $99 a night?! :D
