Two couples, two rooms.  I give a shout out to the front desk staff - they were terrific.   Yes the rooms are dated.  The rooms are clean. The location is terrific for downtown.  The Curry Village next door is the bestest by far. The breakfast was fine.  The coffee and tea 24/7 is genuis.

This is a poor excuse for a hotel. Other than the convenient location, there is nothing good to say about the hotel. The rooms are smelly, dirty and really, really tired looking. The website photos make the room look so much bigger and nicer than they really are. In the first room we were given,  the air conditioner,  TV and fridge did not work. The buttons on the AC were literally falling off onto the floor. When the manager could not get the fridge to work, he kindly gave us a bigger room (so-called suite) that was larger but not much cleaner. But at least the TV and fridge did work. The sink light in the bathroom was burned out and there was only one waste basket for the whole room. Breakfast was a joke with hardly any food set out--3 bananas, a few apples, packaged oatmeal and no eggs. I had to ask for some yogurt and the attendant brought out just 4 containers. We ate our breakfast at Smitty's down the road and it was far, far better.

Tired, sad hotel not worth the price

The rooms were dirty the check-in-staff was uninterested in assisting us when we got there and was on his cell phone for several minutes there is only one person at the check-in so we were standing waiting for at least 10 to 15 minutes before he even acknowledged us when we came down for breakfast the next morning there was almost nothing available and the rooms were dirty we found a lady's stockings on the floor from the previous tenants which made me leery to even sleep in the bed wondering whether the sheets were clean or not I will not stay there again it was not worth the money

Not impressed 

The hotel is located in the old downtown, within 3 min walk to many restaurants and river.
The overnight parking is about 200 m away at the city's unguarded parking lot. There are many homeless people around on all streets. 
The breakfast wasn't impressive at all, just very basic staff. We were given the room on the 1st floor, however the curtained window was at the very top (it's an old building with high ceilings) and we felt like we were in the windowless room. When we asked to change the room we were told that the hotel was full. 

Nice location and windowless room

Stayed one night to visit my son. I enjoy old world charm  and quaint but I prefer clean.. Carpets and bedding  need replacing/ bathroom was quite dirty ( I would not get in the tub) curtains were soiled and fireplace did not work.  For  the price I would have expected higher quality bedding. towels and a fresh smell.  It’s in a great location but not worth the price.

Great location but won’t be back

The room was what I needed and quite comfortable 
though it was cold until finally, the fireplace unit kicked in 

The glass on fireplace was dangerously hot though  so NOT suitable for children - there should be a fixed guard 
in place

The Continental breakfast was pretty good - lots of food and coffee and staff was friendly 

The location was perfect , being downtown 

I would say over all- the room was a good deal

Short stay

My wife and I were extremely pleased with our Friday night stay!
Or room was on top floor, facing the street filled with lots of different shipping experiences including quaint little shops that were unique.
Staff were amazing and our room was very nice.  There room had fireplace, jet tub in the bathroom and was very clean.  The Queen bed was comfortable, wifi was great and small fridge worked well.
The location must be best in city, easy walking distance to lots of restaurants/bars, the waterfront and lots of entertainment venues as well.  
Parking is not on-site but easy walk just around the corner.  We also got a voucher for 15 percent off for food at the assortment restaurants and bars (recommended the Maple Moose).
All this at a very good price.  We will definitely be back!

Great Place and Value

Arrive for a 2 night stay at 2:30 p.m. mid-week the middle of this month and was advised that check-in is 3:00 p.m. we would have to pay extra to get our room before that time.  The next afternoon around 4:00 our room was not yet cleaned, the front desk wasn't answering their phone, so I went to the desk and request housekeeping.  I was advised that since they are a "boutique" hotel they don't clean the rooms after check-in unless requested (this is not noted anywhere on their site or upon check-in).  The staff were rude, unprofessional and totally lacking in customer care.  Parking is off site.  The continental breakfast consisted of bread for toast or a bagel!     THE Holiday Inn is a block away and has onsite parking and services a decent breakfast.

DON'T GO THERE

Booked a Superior Suite with 2 queen beds for 1 night (Aug 5-6) for my family of 3 with CAA Travel--slightly cheaper than hotel website, downside was full payment at booking--about 2.5 weeks before our trip. I did my homework so I knew about the downtown location, free off-site parking, complimentary breakfast, 15% off diner's card and mandatory $200 credit card pre-authorization (deposit) at check-in. 

We arrived at Peterborough Inn & Suites Hotel around 2:20PM, a little early for 3PM check-in time. Front desk informed us that room was not ready. We said no problem, we knew we were a bit early but we were hoping we could use the washroom, unload our luggage and park the car while we wait. The washroom was at the back of the breakfast room behind the front desk. Front desk provided a parking pass which must be displayed on dashboard and surrendered to parking attendant at exit. Our son stayed in the lobby with the luggage while my husband and I parked the car. Parking was at a covered garage on King St (King St Parking Garage) about a 5-min walk from hotel entrance. Guests can however park briefly in front of hotel during check-in and checkout.

Our room was ready shortly after we got back. After signing the credit card pre-authorization, we got our key cards (we asked for 2), another parking pass and 15% off diner's card. We took the elevator to get to Room 407 on the 4th floor. It was a quiet room with 3 windows overlooking the roof and big HVAC units of the adjacent building. It had 2 queen beds, fireplace, bigger than usual mini fridge, wet bar, wall mounted A/C, office desk and chair, TV, big closet with sliding full-length mirror doors and en-suite bathroom with whirlpool bathtub. 

Room was spacious but had a somewhat unpleasant odour when we first arrived. The second bed, the one on the right, was particularly squeaky as the frame was not anchored properly to the wall. Watching TV was uncomfortable --room was an odd shape and TV was in a corner--you have to be sideways on the bed to watch TV. No channels list was provided and picture quality was not that good. It was specified during booking that 3 adults would be staying in the room but other than 3 bath towels, everything else (mugs, drinking glasses, hand and face towels) was meant for only 2 room occupants. The real bummer though was no internet our entire stay. We found out about the internet problem during check-in as there was a sign at the front desk.

We had the breakfast room all to ourselves when we went downstairs the next morning. Complimentary breakfast was pretty basic. Coffee, tea, milk, juice box; bagel, bread for toast; cream cheese; cereal, oatmeal; yogurt, muffin and fruits. 

 I asked front desk about the wi-fi and apparently Cogeco (hotel internet provider) was affected by Rogers service outage in July. When we asked for a printed copy of receipt for Ontario Staycation tax credit use, front desk said he cannot provide one because we booked with third-party site. Back home, I contacted CAA Travel and was told hotel should have emailed or printed receipt at checkout. I forwarded this to front desk which emailed back with an inaccurate guest folio.

We liked the hotel location but noticed that there were many homeless people in the vicinity.

Off-site parking, basic breakfast, no internet during our stay

Do not stay here.  I thought it would be a cheap and cheerful place downtown - wrong. A dive of the worst kind. The room smelled strongly of mold. Hair and crumbs from previous guest(s) were in both the room and the bathtub. Even the water tasted funky compared to the rest of the city. 

Avoid this place if you have basic cleanliness and health expectations.
