The Cider House is a charming older Georgian style home with lots of period character.  The Garden Room where we stayed is large, clean and comfortable with ensuite facilities. Breakfast at this b & b is a real treat----from the tasty coffee to the delicious breakfast offerings.  Sweet treats are on the table to have at that time or to take away for later. The hostess, Dianne is so helpful, with maps of the area readily available.  Very enjoyable stay in a beautiful part of the province.

Mid-week getaway

Travelled with another couple and had planned to stay here for a night enroute from Niagara Falls to Montreal. 

Check-in went smooth, and we went for dinner nearby. Unfortunately it went downhill from here. After shower we wanted to go to bed, but noticed that the pillow cases and covers were infested with bed bugs.

It was already 11pm and we notified the owner (son). His reaction was appalling and defensive. He eventually recommended us to leave, but offered no further help besides calling his mother.

The mother was rather perplexed but at least apologised after seeing the situation. 
She initially offered to change fresh sheets, but eventually recommended a couple of areas where we could try for a hotel to spend the night. We secured a room online 20mins' drive away all on our own effort. 

Our friends' room was not affected but they decided to move with us. 

We packed our bags within 10 minutes and left. Both mom and son were nowhere in sight. No proper goodbye, apology, closure etc. We left and didn't look back. 

We couldn't decide which was worse: The attitude or the bed bugs.

Has potential but.... bed bugs

Stayed overnight and was greeted with kindness from the host. The rooms were spotless and cozy. The breakfast was top notch and every detail was taken care of. Would recommend this as a great stay to all my friends and family and look forward to my next visit.

Hidden Jem!

House is beautifully decorated and spotless. Hosts Diane and Ben were great . Breakfast was delicious and lent us pass for nearby provincial park to explore. Were given homemade cookies for our trip when we left. We would definitely stay there again.

Immaculate older home in scenic area

Well-maintained house, nice rooms, breakfast ok. Still had to insist to get two more toasts! The hostess speaks NOT a word of French. On the other hand, an important railway with a level crossing is very close by and the locomotives are yelling their sirens repeatedly, half a dozen times a night. Even with earplugs in your ears you won't sleep. The people of Brighton are certainly used to it. I doubt that this is the case for one-night travelers. As far as we are concerned, bad step.

If you're looking forward to sleeping at night

Enjoyed a wonderful week at Cider House bed and breakfast.  Three friends and I like to get away and and enjoy nature and paint a couple of times a year.  Diane and her family looked after us royally.  Gourmet breakfasts each morning, and treats left for us later in the day.  We booked three of the four rooms, and had the whole place to ourselves,  lots to see and enjoy in Brighton,  close to wonderful Preaquille park, and the local walks and small town Ontario.  Friendly store keepers, very helpful all around.

Girls getaway

We stopped by chance in front of this very neat B&B. The owner, a very kind and discreet person, had us choose the room (with bathroom) and then gave us directions to go to dinner. They have a very nice living room, it seems to be at home where the Wi-Fi works well. The free parking. The breakfast is served personally by Mrs. Diane. Everything is clean and really cozy. I recommend it even though it may seem dear it deserves them all.

A little candy bar.

The room was very nice and the bathroom was large and clean. On the other hand, a railway line is very close to the south side and trains whistled until midnight and very early in the morning, around 5 am!!! The lunch was very nice and a class is available with a beautiful garden. The lady who hosted us is discreet and lets us eat quietly. A dog (slave) walks freely.

Good value for money

I happened to stop by Niagara Falls and I was really good. The house is very cozy, the rooms are tastefully furnished and the owners are extremely kind and rich in advice. The breakfast was excellent.

Delicious accommodation

Beautiful rooms with a slightly kitschy flair. All equipped with air conditioning, free water, large living area, garden with terrace and grill. The only downside: when we were there, a train ran through the town every hour (even at night). The owner is very friendly and lends you the parking pass (very recommended). Breakfast is lovingly and freshly prepared.
