Myself and three friends did a bike trip, started with Nelson for a couple nights, then headed towards the Fraser Canyon, one of the group knew the owners Mike and Dorthy and had stayed there before, very quaint older property. Lots of history, very well kept property, comfortable rooms, great area to mingle with friends and family, right on the river, great breakfast in the morning, but the most impressive thing was the owners Mike and Dorthy , so very welcoming and hospitable, make you feel like family.  We will most definitely be back.

Diamond in the rough

What they say about small towns is true, I stayed at the Inn at Spence's Bridge for business, and within 2 hours of being here, I fell in love with it. Dorthy and Mikey at the Inn are such kind-hearted and welcoming people that welcomed us in like family. The hotel is right next to the river. Don't forget to bring your fishing rod. there are great fly-fishing spots within walking distance. just across the river, I recommend going to the Packing House for AMAZING food, everything on their menu is worth trying. This place is a gem full of welcoming folks. If you have a bit of time to kill, I highly recommend taking a short hike to the bottom of the waterfall for some Instagram-worthy pictures.

Really interesting spot, very cozy. The hosts were excellent. I stumbled upon this inn but next time I’ll be going out of my way to plan a trip through here. I was on a cycling trip with an early morning departure and the hosts even swapped my breakfast with a packed lunch. Loved it! Thanks!!

Hidden gem with a great vibe

Don’t let the exterior fool you. The rooms are really comfortable, the history and character fantastic, hosts fun and interesting and breakfast delicious. A great base for fishing and exploring the Thompson valley. 

Really comfortable interesting Inn

Nice place with the owner very knowledgable about the local area. Great breakfast included. There are two busy train tracks on either side which is why they supply earplugs - but they didn't bother me as I can sleep through Armageddon.

Sadly the place is up for sale so this may be your last chance to catch it.

Historic Inn and a comfortable night

We stopped here during our drive from Banff to Vancouver.  It has been an Inn since the mid 19th century.  Lots of interesting pictures and furniture.  

New highways bypass Spences Bridge, so the town is trying to reinvent itself.  But it was a charming and unusual place—remnant of the past when stagecoaches were the primary way to travel.  It is in the desert.

We had a large, clean and reasonably priced room.  The owners of the Inn are friendly and helpful.  A unique place.



Unique historic Inn

This has to be one of the coolest places we've stayed at. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area.  They have a security cat named Nick.  He is very friendly but expect him to attack sometimes. Great place for people who are into trains. Tracks on both sides of the inn


Wicked place

We stayed one night here on our road trip to the Rockies... would definitely stay again. Both Mike and Dorothy are incredibly hospitable; including sharing binoculars to see the Osprey nest with chicks ready to fly and sharing stories. I also appreciated the touch of providing earplugs in the rooms ... the trains are cool but a little loud late at night.

A great find

I first came across the Inn at Spencer Bridge by chance on my way home a from Kamloops. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly faces that welcomed me. I was provided a beautiful large room with picturestque views of the mountains, the river and the trains! What an experience to witness the trains from the patio terrace! The bed was comfortable and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was delicious! I returned about a month later for a 5 day stay for business because i had such an enjoyable previous experience. i was not disappointed.. The owners, Dorothy and Mike go above and beyond to ensure their guests have an enjoyable trip.  The terrace, full of beautiful flowers and located on a bench overlooking the river, mountains and trains is an excellent place to relax and take in the beauty that surrounds you in the Canyon. The historic Inn provides a glimpse back into history with unique items carefully curated throughout. I can't wait until my next stay.

The Best Place to Stay in the Canyon!

What an amazing piece of living history - dropped in for lunch which they don't serve but left knowing so much about the area. Was told where we could get a good lunch in town.

The host advised that they didn't serve food (except for breakfast for hotel guests) but could help with a cold drink or a fresh pot of coffee. We elected for a coffee and sat out on the back deck overlooking the town, river and railway lines & the osprey/bald eagle nest.

The host was happy to talk to us about the town, the history, the surrounding desert,  the railway companies and shared use of the tracks, the river and fish, the gold rush as well as the mini museum housed in the Inn.

The coffee was hot and strong & very reasonably priced.  Certainly worth a look & would have liked a look at the rooms upstairs to see what the accomodation was like (the Inn is in the progress of being refurbished).
