When here with my Wife on our Honeymoon vacation from Ontario.  Michel was very accommodating. Beds were very comfortable and very close to the MT Carleton. Anyone looking for a place to stay for a place when going to Mt Carleton stay here. It is about 1.5 hr away. Very good price as well

The service provided was superb and everything was extremely clean and organized. This old home is FULL of charm and close to all amenities.
 The owners clearly take pride in providing a welcoming, accommodating atmosphere and we plan to stay again when we go fishing there this summer.
  Mike's knowledge of the local history was a service I wouldn't have expected from any other host, especially in the colorful way he used to tell the stories. 
  It was an experience like no other.  Maison McKenzie is a local gem that I would recommending anyone checking out when looking for a unique place to stay in Campbellton.

Charming, clean bed & breakfast with a wonderful atmosphere!

The decor and furnishings of the house are very rustic, very old-fashioned but we sleep well there! Michel is a very friendly host, very interesting to listen to and a good joker. His mother (95 years old) is a lovely Mamie as we all would like. We absolutely recommend!! Irène and François

Very rustic but too good.

A beautiful old house, typical, very comfortable bed, magnificent reception. First we had a deal with François, very friendly and good advice for restaurants. The next morning Michel welcomed us for a rich and succulent breakfast, homemade jams and maple syrup, instant pancakes. Nice exchange with Michel proud to tell us about his Canada and happy to learn about France. It is a must to be as close to Canadian generosity as possible. I can only advise you to stop there.

Very nice house with exceptional guests

For the warmth of welcome, helpful tips on local restaurants (or restaurant: Pizza Delight), and tastiness of the breakfast I’d give 5 stars: Mike is a great character, his mother an absolute star and Sarah, who prepared the breakfasts, was friendly efficiency personified. 

So why only 3 stars?  Basically the room: a “Superior double” of 13m2 with a seating area.   Except it really wasn’t - and it smelt of old chip fat.  Maybe 9m2; and a single stick back chair in the only unoccupied corner of a room isn’t a ‘seating area’.  There is a communal sitting room. 

More concerning was that the single fire extinguisher on the top floor appeared to be several years out of date: see the photo and decide for yourself, but the punched card codes seem clear to me.  Exit was via a narrow staircase at the bottom of which the door opens inwards and jams at 2/3 open. 

The rooms are cheap, but at what cost?

So I think 3 stars is fair.

Friendly and clean; but tired, an odd smell, inaccurate room descriptions and a safety concern.

Basic room.  Clean. Washroom spacious. Owner has lots of paraphernalias all about the place. There’s an old house smell which I expected from such an old building.  Although the towels and bed sheets were clean, the comforter certainly has that old unwashed smell.  But the price was good so can’t complain.

Cheap accommodation

On our drive back to Ontario from out East, we decided to go to a different part of New Brunswick, than stay in Fredericton again; Maison McKenzie was an affordable and good location.

Michel is your host and he is awesome: really down to Earth and great to talk to. His helper, Sara, makes breakfast and looks after the rooms. The rooms are super-clean and comfortable and having a private bathroom was excellent (shower was the best we used on the trip). 

Breakfast was good, albeit not perfect (I thought they were fine, but my wife was a bit turned-off by the doneness of the pancakes), but all in all, a good stay and lovely people.

Great Night and Great Hosts

We were down in room number five: tiny and noisy (ventilation in front of the window) Not very comfortable, it deserves a good warm-up! The bathroom with shower downstairs is right. It's all clean. Breakfast with cereal and pancakes served by a young English-speaking woman doesn't fit the whole set.

This Band B is a little old and tired and yet the bed was very comfortable and the private bedroom was well appointed.  Breakfast was simple and everything was clean and as advertised.  We enjoyed our stay here but the town was a bit difficult to get to know as the bridge over the river is the main focus of the town.
