Such a disappointment! Shabby hotel needing repair work and re-decorating inside and outside. Restaurant not functioning for 2023. Breakfast was an insult, food passed sell by date by weeks. Fire-escape was blocked off at outside stairs!

Avoid this hotel!

Old hotel, but clean show her age. Rooms are small but reasonably priced. Right on Main Street, Beds are comfy, good service. For reservation go direct not to expadia because you pay about 20 bucks more. I stay there again

Oldie goody

Run down Hotel!  The bed was okay and the room was clean, but is in need of repair and upgrading.  Very creaky floors.  The owners were nice but did not run the hotel in a professional manner.  There was nothing nearby to do, even on a friday night.  No pubs or anything in the area.  Maybe nothing in the town at all!  Keep going

Don't be fooled!

Our room was updated and very clean.  An error somewhere resulted in us not being checked into the king bedroom which we booked.  A small adjustment was made on the price.  The hotel itself is very tired and needs updating.  Marina, one of the owners, is enthusiastic about Castlegar which resulted in our doing part of the art walk.  The installations are rather wonderful.  If you are, like me, not comfortable sleeping on polyester sheets, ask for cotton ones when you book.  Our room faced the main street and was quite noisy in the morning.  If you want a quiet room, ask for one in the back.

Upgrades needed

Never book here. I do not smoke! They accused me of smoking in my room because of a tiny little whole on a sheet at I actually saw. I did not report it to them not thinking they would charge me 250$ for it. They lied and stole my money. Also the room was hot and stinky. Floors were soft and creaky no matter where you stepped. They also lied saying they only had one room left. When in reality they only had two rooms booked that night in the whole place. They are desperate for money in this run down old hotel.  Keep your money and go elsewhere!

Beautiful, bright ,little room with a privat bathroom, new tv and stunning view of the mountains. Amazing people .I will be back for the schitzel and Marina's amazing pickled carrots.This people are great . they work hard and seem so happy and positive about Castlegar and community. Looks like a great place to live.

Room 111

Very nice family run business.  Rooms are adequate and very affordable.  Late check ins are accommodated with advance notice.  Room was well heated and clean.  Right in the bustling downtown core of Castlegar.

Cozy, niche stay

As was mentioned in a previous review “don’t judge the book by the cover”. This place is undergoing renovations and when they are done will be a gem. It would take many other hosts to outclass Harmut and Marina. The place us very clean comfortable and well located. Beds and linens very good. There are other “big guys” in this town but if this couple can continue to renovate and survive the economic downturns of the area it will be even more of a winner than it is now. Location, cleanliness, comfort and awesome hospitality !!! What more can you ask ???

Could be the next boutique hotel in the area

This lovely little hotel is more like a B&B than some impersonal hotel. Friendly, professional staff, very clean rooms, and a good restaurant. I felt very at home here and will always come back.

It is located in downtown Castlegar close to other good restaurants, great clothing shops, and a pharmacy: in short, everything you may need during your visit is nearby.

Add to that the local knowledge of the
Proprietors and you have yourself an excellent, economical hotel.


Friendly hosts, clean hotel

This place is very charming. Even though its located in the downtown area, it was very quiet. Everything was very clean and i love the decor. Most importantly, the hosts/staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. It's a place we would come back to!
