Rooms were very dark and smelled heavily of Pine Sol upon entry. Linen and towels were very clean, housekeeping was very up to date. Based on reading previous reviews, I removed my shoes prior to entering the room, for fear of 'deep cleaning' fees. Some real rednecks stayed there, but were located on the first floor. Given it's proximity to a world class Salmon and Trout river, and the name of the establishment, I thought it would have catered better to fly fisherman. I found it dark and depressing overall, but it was a clean place to crash after 12h of fishing. 

Check -in was smooth, friendly & professional! The general manager Ali,  was exceptional! Our room was spacious, clean, attractively painted  & soundproof! Thankfully, there are monetary repercussions if people choose to be rowdy past 11pm! 
We were bewildered by the Roku system on the TV! Thankfully, an employee named Georgina came to our rescue twice! She was an absolute God-send! The customer service at this establishment is beyond compare! 
Can highly recommend this hotel!

This is a wonderful quiet hotel in a great neighbourhood, quiet enough, but lots of restaurants and other businesses nearby.  Very comfortable beds, well laid out rooms, very nice clean bathroom with a great shower.  Very nice coffee maker too.  Wonderful, professional, helpful and very friendly staff!

Wonderful stay in a quiet, comfortable hotel.

Room was clean. No issues with beds or washroom. I felt staff at front desk could of been more friendly. I heard some other travelers had issues with the damage deposit, so I insisted on a walk thru with a staff person on check out.  All was good. The value was fine also.

Good Location--Older Hotel

When I entered the room, I put a comforter from home on the bed, covered all carpet with waterproof pads, used a "fencing" to prevent my 2 dogs from being able to even get near the bed and they slept in their crates.  We were only there to sleep and nothing else as we left before 7 every morning and back at bed time.  The first morning I had a shower and water got on the bathroom floor.  I wiped it up with a towel and it was black.  That day I went to the store and purchased Lysol wipes and cleaned the bathroom floor that night.  We found two bobby pins, a hair elastic and a ball of human hair.  The pillow smelled like "sardines".  When we checked out, I made sure I mentioned it to the desk clerk so that she would make sure that it was cleaned a bit better.  (Never mind no internet and TV was grainy and old but we didn't care as we weren't there much).  Low and behold I get a call on the day of checkout that they are keeping my $200 deposit (I had already paid a $50 pet fee!).  They sent me a picture of a couple hairs on the white sheet.  Nothing else to justify these "damages" and reason for keeping the deposit!  I sent pictures of all of the stuff that I used to protect their room.  Denied the refund!  Read the reviews and notice that this is the experience of many people on here.

We stayed in September of 2021, however am only posting now. Love the location and the place is well kept, although some of the furniture is aged. The staff at the front desk wasn't pleasant and unhelpful. 

Great location - Staff need improvement

Average place close to many amenities and restaurants. Booked for the busy long weekend more than 1 month in advance. The room we booked came with 2 queen beds and a Murphy bed (double). The room was larger than we are used to with a kitchenette and a little seating area by the TV. We found the beds to be very comfortable! The room was clean except we noticed the floors needed a good deep clean judging from how much garbage and dirt ended up on our feet after walking around the room for a bit. On the weekend we arrived, the front desk informed us that there was no housekeeping on weekends and that if we needed something, we could contact the front desk. Not a deal breaker, but the price of the rooms should reflect what services are offered. The price of the room for 1 night was crazy, almost $300! Way too much money for this place.

Average hotel, but not the best value.

My son stayed for one night on his way home to Alberta. Once home realized VRI had charged him $150 on his Credit card. He called wanting an explanation and was told that the floor (which is tile) was very dirty and required "deep cleaning". I've never heard such nonsense in my life! This appears to be normal business practice for this establishment, read the reviews. 

If you choose to stay at this establishment, take pictures of everything. Otherwise it's your word against theirs. He asked for pictures of the "very dirty" tile floor and was told that none were available. Not surprising when they know they are fraudulently charging customers rediculous fees for mopping a floor. The best part, he was wearing flip flops, not even work boots!

You guys are thieves, plain and simple!!

Scammers/Thieves

Beware if you have a pet! They claim they are pet friendly, but I believe they say that so they can claim your pet has spoiled the room and they can charge an additional $100. We stayed for two evening. Vedder claimed our dog peed in the room. That’s impossible, our dog was with us every moment. If you look at other reviews, you can see this is common practice at this hotel. 

In addition, the hotel didn’t service our room because they said “it was to hot…”. I wish I could take off work when it got to hot. 

Stay clear of this place!!!!!

Beware!

We've been regulars staying here. Paying near the $130 - 150 per night. Way back in May 25.     July 25, $256.    Lots of 'Sorry's' it's summer....  We,ll be looking for alternate facilities, even push through to another town.   To make our hard earned money go the furthest.
