I stayed at Ann and Frank’s charming B&B in July 2019 for two nights. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The view from the dining room alone is a reason to go and Ann invited me along to play with a Celtic music group she plays the Bodrhan in, which was a special treat. The house and grounds contain some  of her son Andrew’s spectacular sculptures. Make sure to check  out the great labour of love museum located in the remaining WW2 RCAF sea plane hanger down by the marina. 

Friendly B&B in an out of the way spot

I stayed at the Dolphin House for two nights.  My main reason was to hike and fish the local parks and rivers.  My hosts were Ann and Frank, a wonderful couple, who are long term residents of the area.  My room was on the small side but very well kept and nicely decorated.  The shared bathrooms were immaculate and the common areas were very comfortable and nicely decorated as well.  The dining room overlooks Coal Harbour and provided a magnificent view of the surrounding hills as well as the comings and goings of various fishing boats.

Breakfast and coffee were excellent, as advertised.  The free Wifi was faster than the Wifi I have at home.  There was no TV in my room but that didn't matter as I had full Internet access to the sites I normally surf.  I think there was a TV in the common area but I never used it.

All in all, a great visit.

Back to Nature

The location is great and the hosts are very willing people. 
Views from the property are spectacular and the local harbour is very special. This part of the Island is incredible for the fauna and access to First Nation peoples and their art work.
We stayed for 5 nights, two nights would have been perfect.

A great place for a couple of nights

We often stay here for a day or two when we have to wait for the early morning ferry. The hosts are absolutely charming and open. Breakfast in front of the bay is unforgettable. It's in the north west of Vancouver Island, so we're in the middle of bears and jaguars.

The End of the World

Three of us traveled here last month and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I would go out of my way to stay with these interesting and friendly people. The house was furnished with mementos of their lives in other parts of the world. If you are in the neighborhood, DO STAY HERE! You won't be sorry.

Friendly hosts, beautiful views and great food!

I have stayed here twice because I enjoyed it so much the first time. Anne has a good little collection of kaleidascopes and a super book on the subject to go with them.  Oh yeah, Anne and Frank are lovely people, the setting is super, and thje whole house is a treat.  I would stay there again.

I'm a return guest

Ann and Frank are wonderful hosts! The Dolphin House is a lovely clean place to stay . The view from the dining room is beautiful. Ann made delicious breakfasts and was very knowledgeable about the area. We received some great information about places to visit in the area. One of the most interesting was Joey's museum. Great place to get the history of the Harbor's whaling and place in WWII.

wonderful place to stay

We spent two nights in this lovely bed and breakfast at the end of July and beginning of August 2011. The Dolphin House is located about 15 minutes' drive from Port Hardy Airport in the beautiful bay of Coal Harbor right by the sea. The owners Frank and Ann have created a charming bed and breakfast, which is very comfortable and lovingly decorated. The rooms are not too big, but very comfortable decorated, and you can use a small living room with a large library. In addition, the plane and the refrigerator are available to all guests. The house has a very spacious contents with direct access to the sea. The breakfast was very tasty and rich. So it brought fresh toast, fresh fruits and coffee, and we even had a great breakfast from Frank's garden and we even drove to our home in the grocery store and we had a lovely breakfast from Frank's and J. Ann's.
