Having stayed there before, I would have booked online but the Hotels.com and Booking.com had said that no rooms were available.  I saw the "Vacancy" light outside.  I took a  chance and stopped there after a long difficult day of traveling north.  The manager was gracious and very helpful.  The room was clean, well equipped and a perfect place to rest. 

Easy, convenient, clean and affordable

My first time staying at Northway Motor Inn even though it was my 3rd trip to Dease Lake. This is a great place to stay out in the middle of nowhere. Due to it's location, don't expect all the comforts of home, but it did impress me what they are able to provide being so far from the rest of civilization. My room was clean, bed comfortable, building quiet, etc, etc. Allison, Dede & staff are all super friendly (like the rest of Dease Lake) and willing to help you out with anything! I couldn't get wi-fi calling to work on my phone (no cell service in Dease Lake), so Allison let me make the few calls I needed to make with the hotel land line phone since the phone in my room wasn't working (NorthwestTel problem). My recommendation to travelers through here would be to try & get a room with a kitchenette as dining options are near non-existent in Dease Lake. My dinner consisted of a frozen meal from the grocery store across the street that I heated up in the microwave in the hotel lobby. Breakfast the next morning was good for $12.99 at the grocery store deli. I will stay here again whenever my business brings me up to Dease Lake!

A gem in the northern BC wilderness!

Our first visit here. We found the motel clean and comfortable and they had a ice machine! We were grateful for the fan in the room as there was a heat wave in the area. Reasonable rates and lots of space. My only complaint was the excess of cigarette butts surrounding the ground by the entrance.

Cool and comfy.

Our room was clean, large and had a kitchenette. This came in handy since food options were limited on a Sunday night, so we got frozen meals at the grocery store across the street. The shower was especially nice, and I had what was probably my best night's sleep during a 22-night trip. The room was on the back side of the hotel and looked into a pretty fenced area with trees and wildflowers. It was interesting to wake up in the morning to a few inches of wet snow. Someone in the parking lot told us that snow in June isn't unknown, but most locals had never seen that much snow so late.

Would stay again

Our vehicle broke down in Dease lake and we found Northway at 10pm, where Dede welcomed us and provided a room. Dede and her staff / other local folks were so kind, going above & beyond to help us get back on the road. This hotel was definitely the highlight of a difficult situation. They made us feel at home, provided coffee, the kitchenette was well stocked, rooms are very clean and comfortable. 

Great family run hotel

My wife and I stayed here twice travelling 'there and back' during our road trip.  The room was clean and the kitchenette well stocked.  TV and internet kept us entertained and in touch with family via internet along a remote winter highway. We definately will stay again.

A friendly place with very clean room

We stopped here on our way to Whitehorse as it approximately the halfway point between Smither/Terrace and Whitehorse.  It is very easy to find as there is very little in Dease Lake and has ample free car parking.  There isn't a restaurant onsite but there is a small area where you can sit and eat your take out with plates and cutlery, you didn't want to take back to your room.  There is also a BBQ available at the front of the property if you wanted to cook your own food.  The rooms are large, clean and well appointed.  We also stopped here a few days later on our return journey.

Great place to stop

We are currently travelling across the United States and Canada from coast to coast. We are halfway through our journey and we had never heard of anything like this before! We were superbly welcomed, the room is impeccable! We could not have hoped for better!

The best place on our trip!

The hotel is recently remodeled and was very nice. They are pet friendly and very accomadating for our dogs. They even gave me dog biscuits. We had the kitchenette room and cooked our dinner there. It was very clean and had a cozy feeling. Staff was friendly and very helpful. 

Very nice hotel 

We stayed one Night on our way from Teslin to Stewart. The hotel is right off the highway and across the street from the gas station which has a large selection of foods and groceries. Our check in was very pleasant; the desk person was extremely friendly and helpful and let us know all the eating options in town.

Our room had I think been recently renovated. It was extremely comfortable with an arm chair, large desk and chair, tv, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, a sink outside the bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The fixtures in the bathroom looked new as did everything else in the room. Although there is no phone service here, the Wi-Fi worked well. It really is a Mecca in the middle of the wilderness!
