This B&B is amazing!  Patsy and her husband have thought of everything when it came to building a B&B. The rooms are immaculate and very spacious! Each room feels like a small apartment since there is a huge dressing closet, bedroom and a bathroom that you can get lost in. The design of the house is like something out of homes and gardens. The great room is magnificant with a huge stone fireplace. Patsy is very welcoming and has coffee, tea and sweets out all the time. Breakfast is a feast where you can get to know the other guests and the family. I wish we had time to stay and additional night, but I would definitely come back again! 

This B&B is amazing

We stayed here two nights and loved it. Our host was very friendly and made a delicious breakfast. The room was quiet and very comfortable. It rained one afternoon and we had a lovely afternoon reading and relaxing. The location is great, close to Deer Lake and the airport. 

A lovely Bed & Breakfast

We (2 couples) stayed here for one night last week. Patsy provides a very welcoming and organized stay at her home. Rooms are very large and you are made to feel very comfortable. There are friendly dogs and cats in the house. Breakfast was very good and the only time during our stay at 9 B&B’s across NL that we were offered a traditional Newfoundland breakfast (fish cakes and beans). Would stay here again. Thanks

Lovely home

My wife and I stayed there in June for one night and we will be returning for our last night in Newfoundland
Patti was a great hostess who told us places to eat things to do and lots of good information
She told us about an iceberg that had landed nearby and a little village and also about a great place to eat on the way we took her advice and drove there and I thought it was going to be the highlight of the trip but later we saw lots more of icebergs so it wasn’t the highlight but it was one of the highlights

Great room great breakfast great hostess 

You have probably already read the other reviews, so what can we add? This place was perfect from all points of view. Patsie is a born hostess (her husband was off hunting moose), and has created a lovely homey atmosphere where you really feel welcome. If (unlike us!) you don't like animals, don't worry about the other commentaries : cat and dogs were kept under strict control and never a problem. Breakfast was the best we had in NL. Our only problem was that we couldn't stay longer. Many thanks for sharing such a beautiful place, Patsie.

Look no further!

I agree with all of the previous reviews that praise Old Rocky Brook Road as one of the best B&Bs in the province. The house, located in near-pristine woodland, but only a kilometer off of the main highway or from town, is of fabulous design. Huge windows, and a high-roofed living area, but with an upper level for bedrooms that are homey and exceptionally comfortable. Patsy s extremely hospitable, and offers an authentic Newfie breakfast of fishcakes and beans with pork, plus toast, fruit cup and yoghurt. But she will also cater for other tastes or for vegetarians (I had lovely scrambled eggs on toast). She considerately provides bottled water in the rooms, since the well water, which is perfectly safe, is not quite to everyone's taste. The only negative worth mentioning, but which is totally outside the owners' control, is that Deer Lake is particularly badly endowed with decent places to eat dinner. The truck stop and motel on the main highway seem the best options, but their mixed and generally lousy reviews are accurate. Short of persuading some St John's eatery to open a branch in the styx, there isn't much that can be done about this. One suggestion would be to check in early to the B&B and actually drive the 50 km over to Corner Brook to eat, since there are a number of passably good restaurants there.

We've been to a few B&Bs, some of which were absolutely great, but none of these accommodations can match this B&B! The house, the rooms, the facilities, the hosts, the breakfast, the service: an absolute dream! What a blessing for us to be able to stay here. Unfortunately, we were only able to enjoy this dream for one night. Thank you very much!

The diamond under the B&Bs

If you need to stay in or near Deer Lake, Newfoundland, this is the place to stay!  It is like new, large, nicely laid-out, and very nicely decorated.  Patsy, the owner, is a superb, friendly host and makes a great breakfast with lots of options!  It is located on a back road away from any noise.   Our room was superb with a nice comfy bed and our own bathroom.

Be aware that a GPS may have you turn too early off the gravel road  - just keep going until the gravel road turns to the right on its own and then this B&B is on the right just afterwards.

This is one of the nicest B&B's we have ever stayed at,  We could only stay one night but wished we could have stayed at least another!
