Great location, by a river. Well appointed rooms. On site restaurant had a good menu, quick service and entertainment outside

One point to consider...at check in, when paying for our room, there is an option to provide a "tip". I don't get it...maybe when you check out but on check in...that's gotta change!

Nice spot by a river

A friend and I went for dinner yesterday and I found out I could order three quarters of what was on the menu and have it changed to gluten free.  I have never found a restaurant that would help so much to provide food that I could actually eat.  I had the Craigers Fish and mashed potatoes and coleslaw, I think it was $12.99.  They had changed the coating on it so it was gluten free and cook it separate from regular food.  We were very happy with the meal, the creme brule was wonderful.  I will be coming back with all the assortment to choose from.  Thank you new managers!!

Great place to eat,

Called to make a reservation for 3 people for a 4:30 seating. Was told that they do not take reservations but they would do their best to seat us in the room we requested that is overlooking the river. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the host who proceeded to seat us at a table in a dark corner of the interior. We stated that we called ahead and asked for a table in the sun room. There were many empty tables in that room as we passed by it. He stated very rudely, " This table is nice too!" We explained that we were from out of town and called ahead and it was a special occasion and we would really like a table with a view. He rudely said, " Do you want to eat at this restaurant or not?" At that point we made the decision to leave this very poorly run establishment. With very rude staff!
After reading some of the other reviews about the food quality I am happy we didn't stay.

There are new owners at the Mill. The food is outstanding. The customer service is top notch and the hotel is great. You won’t be disappointed as this young team is customer oriented and will go that extra mile to ensure you are well taken care of.

So disappointing! Ordered pickerel dinner! It was pan fried not what I ordered! I didn’t eat any of it and  by the time the waitress came it was cold I wanted battered, I got pan fried that looked uncooked! Pink and slimy! They would not give me my money back said they could make me another piece e of fish but it would cost 8 dollars on top of the 16 dollars! They only offered me the fish not the meal! Well at this point my meal is stone cold considering it was barely warm when it was served to me!  The waitress also knocked over 2 of are beers! What a mess! It was awful my mom had ordered the same as me but ate her meal now feeling unwell. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I honestly don’t think the fish was cooked long enough NEVER again will we go there. So disappointed and to have to pay for a meal that you didn’t order gets me ! must be hard up!

We were from out of town two and a half hours drive away, I had booked in for my best friends wedding (as I was in the wedding party ) in town 3 months prior.  I had been emailing with Lauralee back and forth, gave my credit card information and she had confirmed no only was my room booked for that day but that she would let us check in early as we would not have a chance to do so until late that night after the wedding.

So we show up the day of the wedding all ready to check in so we can get to the ceremony right afterwards.  The girl at the desk tells me there is no key here for me and no reservation under my name.  The woman Lauralee (the owner) who I had been emailing back and forth was not there so she goes away for awhile, comes back and hands me a cell phone to speak to her.  The girl behind the desk has already informed me they are booked solid as is every hotel in the area that weekend as there was a huge event happening in town which I already knew.  Which is also why I had booked this room way ahead of time.

So I take the phone and the owner on the other end was so rude to me.  Her literal words were "I don't know what you want me to do, I don't have your reservation".  As if she did not even believe what I was saying. WOW.  Okay.  Not even an "I'm so sorry I messed up" NOTHING.

So I went ahead and emailed her back all the correspondence between us from a few months ago proving that I had in fact booked this and she had confirmed, and asked her why or how this could have happened.

Apparently there was a death in her family which is understandable then if it happened at that time, why it was overlooked or a mistake was made.  Fine.  But she just spewed out a huge email about why she was not to blame and, STILL NO APOLOGY.  And getting extremely defensive about why I called her hotel "Sh***y".  I'll tell you why:
1) No apology for the mistake 
2) NOTHING was done for myself or the bride that was also staying there (She was extremely upset that I could not have a good time with her at her wedding as I had to drive back home that same evening instead) Lauralee did not think this affected the bride at all which is absolutely ridiculous as the bride was not only about to get married, but was now stressed out trying to fine us somewhere to stay for the night.  The last thing she needed to worry about.
3) Her blatant disregard for be "hospitable" in a hospitality industry.

All that needed to be done here was give a sincere apology and maybe DO SOMETHING to make up for it. (perhaps some discount for the bride's stay, or a free meal at the very least in the restaurant there, a free stay at another time etc).  I have never in my entire life encountered such a rude and disrespectful business owner.  Unreal.

THE WORST!!!  SHOWED UP TO NO ROOM BOOKED AND NO APOLOGY AT ALL!

First visit two weeks ago. Big special on Fish and Chips. Very popular with locals. Nice atmosphere , good service . Price was right. Interesting décor . Rest of menu looks good . Will go back to check it out.

Meet some friends there one evenng and all ordered fish. Everyone loved their meals. Good protion sizes and great prices. Beautiful view of the river and park if you are seated in the back room. Lobby has alot of historical stuff and is very informative. Overall a very enjoyable evening!

Lovely

The staff were welcoming and friendly, the room is cozy and comfortable. The bed provided a great sleep and the shower is large bright and clean.
I did not hear road noise and if you are a golfer there is a golf course next door.
