The staff were very friendly & aimed to please.  It's a basic hotel (no water slide, swimming pool or exercise room) but we didn't go there to be spending the day in the hotel, we had an agenda.  We only wanted a basic room.
They have the 1st floor for smokers and the 2nd floor is for non-smokers.  We're not smokers, but the navigation of the stairs was more than my friend could take, so we didn't go to the 2nd floor.
It could use some screens on the window.  The ac wasn't aimed into the room, but at the fridge, so it didn't cool the room enough.  Otherwise, they were making sure we were comfortable, and that the room was clean.
The restaurant food was very good - we had dinner there, and I would highly recommend them.  Prices were good, too.

Basic hotel and friendly staff

we were evacuated from edson because of the wildfires we arrived june 9 2023 at 10 pm we were exhausted and we were greeted by tyler at front desk he was very nice and professional. i would stay here again because of the   great customer service that tyler and dianne offered each and every day they both treated us like we were family . i would recomend a big raise to these two people because u can tell they really care about the guests .

I stayed here for an extended spell and was treated very well by both the Staff and the Owners. My deposit was returned to me without quibble on checking out. On occasion I asked the Staff for help,  to send a fax for example, and they cheerfully assisted me.

It was a terrible  visit to this  hotel in Devon and I will never use Google to find a hotel . Key West Inn should not be shown o n google at all it is a dive , no restaurant,  no TV or remotes that work. No air conditioning at all. They bought a portable fan thay did not  work at all . Window latches broken , carpet nor clean  at all  please TripAdvisor do not  put them on your site at all .

A co worker and i checked in after work on a monday. The restaurant was not open. We went to our room. It smelled of mold as soon as we walked in. The tv worked but the cable did not. We talked to front desk and they said they would give us a diffrent room. Four rooms later we finally got a working tv. The room did not smell of mold but there was black mold in the shower. The beds were uncomfortable and the heat was stuck on high. In the morning we were told the restaurant didnt open till 8am. When you work in the oilpatch 8 am is mid morning. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Ever

What a dive

I ate in the restaurant on my last visit and was so impressed, I decided to try the hotel.  I arrived late and was checked in by a lady in her housecoat which is OK in a small town when I arrive late.  The walk to my room was disgusting as the hall stunk of stale cigarette smoke.

I don't think the room smelled of smoke but it smelled of some sweet chemical cover up but was tolerable, unlike the hallway.  The room was very hot so I turned down the thermostat which did not seem to respond.  I opened the window to discover there was no outdoor screen.  The room is on the ground floor just up from the bar so going to sleep with the window open was not a wise option.

I closed the window and the heat was unbearable so I opened it a crack and booby trapped the curtain with a bunch of glasses that would make noise if the curtain was disturbed.

In the morning, the sweet chemical smell had subsided and the sink area outside the bathroom smelled like a urinal.  I think someone had pee'd on the carpet or wall.  I told the desk clerk as I was checking out about the thermostat, missing screen and urine smell and he did not even acknowledge my comments.  I asked if he was interested and he said sure without ever looking at me.  I repeated my concerns and he asked if I wanted a copy of my receipt.  

I asked if he was the owner.  He said, "No, if I was the owner, I would be laying on a beach somewhere."

We came back to the hotel to have lunch in the restaurant and the staff bent over backwards to please us.  The restaurant is great, but beware if you stay at the hotel.  Ask to see your room before you pay.

Restaurant is great bu the hotel smells and they don't care

We came here for dinner only with friends that live in Devon.

On a positive note, the restaurant was clean and airy - with lots of room between the tables. However, it took almost an hour for us to get any service and there was only one other occupied table at the time. Once we had service, the waitress was very pleasant.

I tried to order an appetizer but was told that the 'frozen food order' had not arrived yet, so I could not get that item. Not a good sign, but our friends swore the food was very good.

Once our table had ordered, it was another almost 40 minutes until we were served. On a positive note, the presentation of the food was very nice. I wish the food tasted as good as it looked. Everyone's food was lukewarm. My chicken burger had a very unpleasant tasting sauce and some nacho's we ordered were wooden, held together with gluey cheese, and basically inedible. 

Our friends were disappointed and so were we. We won't be coming back.

Restaurant Needs a Lot of Improvement

Not the top accommodations around. Priced to be fair. The buildings and rooms are old, the smell of smoke is unmistakable. The toilet ran on and on. Probably will not ever come back. They keep the remotes for the tv at front counter, and they didn't work well when I got to the room.

If you smoke this is the place 

First upon entering the Hotel. There is an unpleasant order. Smells like old 
tobacco and alcohol Scent. Did not stay in the rooms but just had breakfast at the restaurant. The service was the worst I had in a long time. There were not to many tables
But it took us almost 50 minutes to get a couple bacon and eggs with hash browns.


Restaurant Need Improvement

It's an old hotel yet it's clean and dandy. I like the way they prepared our breakfast in their restaurant. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Located in a quiet community of Devon. During our stay, lots of people came from Ft. Mac and still quiet at night.
