High disappointment. We stayed in a similar dorm in Halifax and were comfortably accommodated and fed. At UNB, the beds were lumpy with boing-y springs that sounded with every move.  The room was stifling despite a wide open window. Slamming doors all evening and flushing toilets all night. The breakfast was average with one harried attendant trying to get it set up. Really slow K-cup coffee maker.  Sadly, this was a disheartening visit.

Avoid Room 209

Definitely a great place to stay if you’re taking a summer course. Location is convenient and ability to keep food in a fridge helps with keeping costs manageable. Would I stay again? Probably not. Here’s why. The description of a kitchen is misleading. Yes I had a kitchen. But I had 2 plates, 1 fork, 1 spoon, 2 dinner knives and 2 cutting knives. Some pots and pans and a cutting board. No cups at all. I ended up at Sobeys to buy some disposable which breaks my heart. The dishes were all dirty. Hi had to hand wash them all, even those in the cupboards, before using any. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I had 3 dishwasher pucks for a 5 night stay. There is no place to take my garbage out and zero recycling that I can see. These are small things that would make a huge difference! I appreciate the budget friendly accommodation but I know there are things that could be done to drastically improve the accommodations at very little cost. I hope they are done for future guests.

Ok if you are a student 

Great price for 2 separate bedrooms with shared kitchen/living space.This residence is older, wifi was good. No TV's in room.  Full kitchen and bathroom, we carry our own food so we were prepared. Close to the river and trails.  Geocaching close by. Parking close, but still a bit of a walk in the rain. Refundable deposit on building keys.  

Road trip

We like this accommodation!  We chose one of the “suites” with a private bathroom.   It’s a simple dorm room.  The room is clean and has everything we like - coffee maker, big fridge, and everything we need - soap, shampoo, dish soap, bath and kitchen towels.   The WiFi was straightforward.  It’s quiet, but I think it’s very low season/occupancy.  The bathroom is big enough to breakdance in -( but why would anyone do that - it’s just a descriptor. :).

We are just a couple, but it’s big enough and the bathroom has a tub, so if you had a baby or toddler and a pack and play, there’s a big enough space to set it up without being especially cramped.

We’ll be here a second night and I’m already feeling comfortable and pleased about it.

Good value

This may surprise many, but dont expect air condition at the dorm. The stay was very pleasant. The rooms were very clean, it had bedsheets and blanks, towels, soap and shampoo with the UNB logo for nice sovenir. The buildings can be difficult to find at first. The staff was super cool. For travellers with a budget, i definitely recommend. 

Great stay without air condition

My mother and I stayed in the dorms for 1 night last week. We were very well greeted by the residence staff and others around campus! The dorm we stayed in was built in 1958 and our room reflected this - we were unable to open the windows and the furniture was past its prime. Moreover, we couldn't find the control for the television situated in the student lounge. Finally, the breakfast was to be desired, diluted orange juice stale pastries. Despite all this, the rooms were clean, towels and toiletries were laid out for us in the room and the staff was very friendly!

Friendly staff!

Simple but clean and functional with spacious student rooms if you book a 2 bedroom Unit. Kitchen, Livingroom and Bathroom are ok and provide everything you need. To city center use car or bus. Breakfast inexpensive and sufficient but only plastic packed food from Sodexo. We enjoyed our stay at the University campus with students!

Good Value for little money

Clean, accessible on the highway, clean, very affordable lunch, you have the choice of either continental or hot lunch for under $8 per person.
