This place was nasty walked in the room it smelled and walked in the bathroom and I almost threw up. Nasty do not stay here. Got refund and left. We dont recommend this place to no any place is better then this place

Nasty NASTY NASTY

This old wooden motel, Esquire motel in Bedford, is old. The plumbing is ruined and it's better not to sit on the couch if you don't want to get dirty. The smell is unpleasant. This motel would be completely rebuilt. It was very hot in the room and the central heating faucet was blocked. The only solution proposed by the person in the office was to run the air conditioning!

It's in the process of collapse.

Do not stay here.  Rude staff and absolutely rude management.  They will try to charge you additional fees and when asked about it, they start making up reasons why they charged.

There was rats in the room, they over charged, the room next door was charged out by the hour - not the hotel I remember. DO NOT STAY HERE. there was rat droppings in the bed. we did not stay the night. manager/ owner did not care.

WORST HOTEL

we get to this motel  inquired about a room, everything seemed fine, was ready to pay for the room, asked if they take debit card, lady said yes, after they received payment, the lady said "ok, now I need to see some id", I said excuse me?, she said id is required when paying by cash or debit, I asked why the need for id, she said just in case , but never specified in case of what... there was no posting or mention of "id required" until payment was received .( total bs and unacceptable in my opinion)
we asked for extra towels, and were told there isn't any as housekeeping cleaned so many rooms and no extra towels were available, 
this was our first stay at this motel, im sure it will be the last too,

Now many of these reviews are bad but let’s put this in perspective. 
It’s not a new HOTEL is a 60’s MOTEL. 
It’s dated, but I have stayed in worse. 
I checked the bed for bugs. NOTHING. 
I checked the room for other bugs throughly NOTHING. 

Pros:
-New click floors, with silicone floor cracks
-New mattress, recently changed this year sleeps well. 
-bathroom is yellow but very clean and has good hot water in the shower. 
-Has AC, not the fancy AC but a window AC
-Quiet area, no road noise
-Has fridge and Microwave.
-Has TV with Cable, tube tv but still a TV
-Parking at your door 

Cons: 
-It’s a dated look, but it’s clean 
-Walls could be washed down once a month as I can see some hand prints and stains in the shadows 
-No easy plug next to the bed, an extension cord with a way to plug a phone could be helpful 
-Screen door has a large gap underneath, maybe a door sweep could be good but just keep the main door closed and problem solved 
-Microwave needs to be cleaned, there is residual stuff between the glass door and grill. 
- NO COFFEE MACHINE OR KETTLE. I like my coffee and early. 
- bed comforter needs some dry cleaning...
- hide-a-bed mattress is old and could be replaced but I wasn’t using it anyway 

All in all it’s a Motel that needs a bit more attention but if your in a bind and this is the last place in town. It should do just fine. 


Dated but CLEAN 

This place is disgusting, room stinks, bedding when i arrived was full of hair had to request new ones. Bathroom dirty,stanied towels. I wouldn't shower. Windows can not open at all. Not good if a fire was to break out. so dusty n animal hair on everything. Outside they provide paint cans for the smokers which are filled to the top not very safe. Then the broken benches provided to sit on not fit or sturdy. So at check out i spoke of the issues because the 130.00 she waa trying to charge me was not what i was told at check in. She kept saying insert your card would not listen very ignorant. I then tell her of m neighbors that had bugs of some sort in their room. Nasty they took pictures. Her reply was if there was bugs they brought them. I requested 5 times to speak to the owner. Finally she got him on the phone and i was laughed at and he says but u stayed could of left. Excuse me it was labour day weekend and after moving my daughter into university there was nothing else available of course i stayed no choice. He did give me a discount, but all the other customers got nothing.

Horrid.

We spent one night in Halifax without booking in advance, and the very limited condition of the bathroom did not encourage us to stay any longer, but our stay went well with the advantage of having paid a reasonable price for a visit to the capital of Nova Scotia (including Canadian taxes). WiFi was very fast.

Very moderate but affordable hotel in Halifax

How can such crap even get into the ratings, hanging a Tripadvisor sticker in the front desk? Unintelligible! Unappetizing is still boasting, you don't want to touch anything, let alone the floor with your bare feet. There's really no help. Please rethink your system to give consumers an objective picture. In this case, any ratings, better than defective, are triggered.
