Stayed a week in August with two other couples. Rented Three cabins. Cabins are rustic but very clean (Bills daughters I guess get applause for that). Cabins are right on the lake with great sunrises and lots of wildlife. 
Eagles Turtles Beavers etc. Would highly recommend this place for anyone outdoorsy. Also lots to do around the island. Beaches Breweries etc. (Oh and the fishing is great) Happy Travels. Cheers

Awesome Place and Beautiful Lake

These cabins are absolutely perfectly located for fisherman and the waterfront with small beach is ideal for families, especially young kids. Everything is clean and the owners are accommodating/friendly. rustic cabins, but with absolutely everything you could need. Had such a good time we booked again two weeks later …….. 👍

We stayed at Lake Wolsey cabins and we where extremely disappointed!!! First of all these are basic hunting or fishing camps, not a cottages. They where clean  but the furnishings are old and well used. The price they are charging is outrageous, we stayed at the camp on the beach it was 160 per night plus 120 docking and 40 for my dog. Highway robbery!  the so called office has nicotine dripping off the inside of the windows and is filthy, they smoke while you are in there. The games room is an old dirty shed with a pool table in it. The grounds and flowerbeds  are over grown with weeds, broken benches outside of the washrooms. The biggest disappointment was from the owners themselves! From the moment we arrived we were constantly harassed by the owner Jamie telling us to pick up our dog feces, which we do! I asked what the $40 was for he said they have to spray the cabin after dogs been in there LOL I doubt it. The beach that everyone swims at is swarming with poison ivy so warning!I had a birthday dinner for my boyfriend with 12 people in attendance with ages ranging from 10 to 80 years old. I was unaware that I had to tell anyone about the party since I was paying for the cabin. Apparently on the webpage in very small print it says there’s an extra charge for vehicles and people. Instead of addressing this in a polite manner after my company had left, Jamie pulls up to my guests and Rips a strip into me for not informing him, in front of everyone! My guests happened to be business owners from the island and where mortified by his actions. He said we needed to pay them $150 for the guests and their vehicles, get this but took 100 cash.... I would sleep in a tent before I stayed there again!!!

Very disappointed

I saw some reviews with complaints about junk all over the place, run down cabins etc.

Well I can agree with both sides. There is rusty metal equipment visible by people staying on the property, maybe even from some of the cabins closer to the front.
This may bother people looking to see nature. 

However, it's only on one side of the roadway, the side you don't need to be on. Just look the other way and there is a beautiful lake.
For me, and our group that stuff was no problem what so ever.

The cabins. We stayed in the very last cabin on the end. We all found it just fine. It beats a tent. We had beds, electricity, running water, a bathroom, couch, tables etc.

It's a plywood shack. That's it. It's a box of wood, but it will keep you dry and out of the weather to make food and sleep.

Each cabin is nicely spaced, unlike some places that pack sites in tight.
We had a gorgeous lake front view with a nice fire pit and picnic table. 

Even saw a water snake eat a live fish right in front of us before going on his way.

Our dogs could even hang out free and for two dogs that don't listen too good, they stayed on our site (for the most part) and just enjoyed themselves as much as we did. 

Showers are a short walk away. Not the worst we've seen.

Overall, nice place and we would go back again.

We booked the cabin for a family wedding near by. Rustic is to nice a word. We stayed in Cabin 7 for 2 nights it is very run down the stairs from the back deck are unsafe and should not be used a heavy person or more than 1 would probably go through them. There is a spot in the kitchen floor so soft from rotting there is a crack in the hardwood was worried about someone going through and breaking a leg. There was gaps in the bathroom floor you could see outside that is probably how the mice got in 429.00 for the 2 night stay and you are up in the middle of the night chasing mice. No outlets in the bedrooms can't plug in a cpap machine if you need to. Maybe they are renovating the cabins and haven't got this far don't know and don't care they should not be renting a cabin that has unsafe stairs someone could get seriously hurt. We only saw the owners on check out.

Awful

Very warm welcome. Quaint little cabin village of about 11 or so cabins (varying slightly in size and floor plan) along the waterfront, facing west for a beautiful sunrise. Interior of cabins and facilities a bit dated, but in a charming way, and definitely very clean.

There is a communal shower cabin, but toilet and sink are in the cabins. Most cabins have their own fire pit (wood is provided for free!) and seating at the shore of the lake. Small kitchen with cooker and utensils. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, sheets and towels etc are provided.

Remote setting for quiet, starry nights but you can get to the next town easily in about 20-30 mins.
We would have loved to extend our stay, but they were fully booked.

Travel back in time and escape from the world for a while...

 Booked online... no shower in cabin, ok my bad for not reading the fine print... However the cabin didn't even supply a blanket! We had to waste time driving around trying to find a sleeping bag. The person who greeted us was scary to say  the least!! Location was nice but when asked about boat rentals, none available at that time so nothing to do then.  Wasnt terribly clean. Bathroom was terrible. I would never recommend wasting your money here unless your looking for very rough, then you might as well get a tent, it would be about as comfy. 

Bring your own Blankets!!??

We had been driving all day, expecting a simple and rustic rest at Lake Wolseley Cabins.  On arrival we discovered an extremely rustic cabin that lacked any amenities with a single electrical socket for the entire cabin.  We left and found accommodations elsewhere.  The owners were extremely nice and helpful in every possible manner, including while providing a refund.  They are working at up grading the facilities to a much better standard.  For those of us who like rustic this facility will be an excellent venue in the near future, but I it not suit us.  They also take dogs.

An Unfortunate Stay

Spent a week there in Sept 2015 with a group of 5 for our yearly fishing trip. Cabin was clean and the owners were very friendly. Fishing was excellent. Will be making a return trip next year. If rustic cabins and great fishing is what your looking for Lake Wolsey cabins is for you !!!!

Great fishing trip

It was lovely rustic cabin, very clean, we loved this place. The view is amazing, we were in front of the lake with lake view, we stayed in the cabin 2. People were very friendly, we were very welcome. The cabin was well equipped. We loved our stay. We highly recommend. These are very nice rustic cabins. Very clean, we loved this place. The view is breathtaking, we were in front of the lake with lake view, we stayed in the cabin 2. People were very friendly, we were very welcome. The cabins are well equipped. We loved our stay. Peace, nature, the lake and the stars...We highly recommended marriage.
