Granville Ferry

We have stayed at 3 places and our favorite place to date is this Inn. The couple who greeted us and cared for our needs are the most nice, simple, interesting and human Inn keepers we have met. We were put at ease by their personnalized approach. We love the breakfasts they served in an comfortable atmosphere. We woukd definitely return.

Cozy Friendly Inn

We stayed here for 2 nights while doing a tour of Nova Scotia, from here your only a few minutes from Annapolis Royal and Port Royal which have some very interesting historical sites. You are only about 1 hour away from East Ferry and the whale watching tours (check out Petit Passage Whale Watch). 

Art and Martha are very welcoming, and their home is very cosy and has a lot of history to it, check out the horseshoe mark on the dining room floor. We arrived late afternoon and Art helped arrange dinner at a local restaurant 'The Crows Nest Hillsburn' which is where we had the best chowder of our trip. 

Breakfast is cooked fresh by Martha and includes cake, tea and coffee are on tap 24/7 from the dining room. We had a room at the front of the house which had an air con (but we didn't need it) and a view overlooking the water. The room was clean, tidy, and very homely. The bathroom is separate from the bedroom but still private and not available to other guests (you can only do so much with a 300-year-old house).

We would recommend it to others and would stay again if we are back in the area.

Warm welcoming hosts and home

We spent an unexpected night here and ended up with a non-airconditioned room. It is an old building and well maintained and there is only so much you can do in terms of adding amenities but AC using mini splits is one of them so make sure you check which room you book. Also one of the rooms does not have en-suite bath. Breakfast we very good, sausages, fresh fruit and blueberry  pancakes which my wife said were very good. Host can be a little overbearing but did not impact us much.

Lovely historical building and 327 year old red oak with good breakfast

Exceptional hostels. Located across the Annapolis River in a very well renovated and maintained hundred-year-old house. Perfect for visiting the valley: colonial history, Acadia, vineyards. Very beautiful Royal Annapolis right next door. We had a very clean large room with a view of the water. Lunch was really amazing. We felt very good and lunch discussions were very interesting.

Warm welcome

We stayed one night at this beautiful property. The owners Martha and Art were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The bed was very comfortable and it was a perfect room for a good night sleep. Nice and quiet! We woke up to an amazing breakfast. I would certainly recommend this B and B.

Excellent Food

Highly recommend, Art and Martha were great hosts, My wife and I felt very welcomed. the room was very spacious and comfortable. The grounds were very well tended.  Breakfast was very delicious, Martha is an excellent cook.

Comfortable room

The owners are very welcoming and friendly. They take pride in the house and maintenance of the grounds. We stayed in the Harrison Room which was quite spacious. Very comfortable bed, the room has wonderful views of the river and Annapolis Royal which is across the river.   Breakfast was excellent and more than enough food. Thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the owners Art and Martha. Their house has a remarkable and long history which made our stay a lot of fun and informative.  The house has a lot of fabulous history yet it is week maintained an and in very good condition.

A relaxing and informative stay in a piece of Canadian history.

Excellent Hosts, location and breakfast

You never know with a bed and breakfast if you have to tiptoe around.  Fortunately, Art and Martha are very welcoming and you would feel comfortable to use the living room or dining room.  They have a little fridge for the use of guests, and no problem using the microwave or kettle in the lovely kitchen. There are four rooms upstairs and they live downstairs.  
       What sets this place apart is the many little things they think of for their guests’ comfort.  Home made cookies (generously shared: we ate the whole batch!), a basket of sweets in the room, a night light in the bathroom, sweet smelling hand soap, etc. Luxurious linens and towels. Very delicious breakfasts.
       A beautiful and historic home as well as very comfortable.  Art doesn’t run out of stories of the house and area.  Sit on the expansive lawn and enjoy the view of Annapolis Royal across the water, or stroll through the vegetable garden.  Or perhaps play some fun board games with the hosts.
      Granville Ferry is a lovely area, although about a 30 minute walk to the edge of town, thus not really suited if you do not have a car.  It is a two hour drive to Brier Island for whale watching.  Annapolis Royal is a history lovers’ paradise, and a sweet little town.  Definitely worth staying here for a few nights.

Excellent hosts and comfort

We had a amazing stay. Very friendly people and will to over and beyond to help use. We arrived and we had no time to eat. Arthur toke his phone to call a restaurant for use and make a reservation. Know that is someone that cares for his customers. Very special treasure. Relaxing. Food was excellent and was full after you eaten. A must stop .
