We booked this place for our trip to Nova Scotia because it was cheap and looked good. Unfortunately, we could not make the trip as two members of our family fell ill one by one. THE MSVU team allowed us to first reschedule our reservation and the second time they allowed us to cancel the booking even though both times we were not entitled to it. They went above and beyond the T&C to cooperate with us given our situation. 
Both times the communication was fast and positive. Because of this whenever we go to Nova Scotia next, I would first check for their properties before looking at other options. I appreciate good customer service and these guys were remarkable.

Amazing customer service

We staying in a 4 bedroom apartment at the Mount St Vincent Residence in July 2022 for 5 days. The physical layout of the apartment was fine and the view was lovely but it was not clean: the sheets were stained, the one lamp was covered in dirt, the couch was so badly stained that we had to cover it before we would sit on it and the bathroom floors were disgusting. The kitchen was not equipped properly: there were only 4 thin Dollorama plastic dishes and 4 plastic glasses, but no mugs at all, no dish towels, no big spoons, no kleenex, the fan over the stove would not turn off, no pots to cook in (just a lid), no dish rack to dry dishes, no coffee maker and no kettle.  This made cooking impossible. 
The rest of the apartment was not adequately stocked either: no hair dryer, one lamp for 4 bedrooms and the blind was broken. Many of the electrical plugs did not work.  The pillows were lumpy and the linens were not changed as re the posted schedule.  The front desk staff were unable to help us but the housekeeping staff did try to find us some proper dishes and a dishtowel. We have stayed in many residences and monasteries around the world and this was by far the worst.  As a result, we can not recommend this residence as some serious cleaning and upgrading is required to make it livable.

Worst residence we have ever stayed in: dirty and ill-equipped

It was a very comfortable stay , The apartment we got had 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms , It was very clean & so were the toilet . The staff were very friendly and helpful , The price was very reasonable and they also had fully equipped kitchen which was a great thing . We stayed for 3 nights and it was great fun . Thank you

Great Stay

Trying not to compare exboyfriends...and not being biased because I'm Dal alumni ergo my stay at Daldorms was better.... but..msvu..did have great security staff and booking staff Jordan was so helpful...however can't say anything else that positive...its not as stranded as one may initially think however...shared accommodations regardless of locale or price are not exempt from the rude family experience...two nights in a row two different families i didn't get much sleep because parents were letting their kids run about the halls until I got out of bed to educate them bout quiet time at 1130pm to midnight......but then a guest claiming to be police thought it necessary to have a convo at 309am in the hall with another guest...then theres the throwback to the hairyback...msvu used to be all women university.. rahrahshishkoombah and all that however...all they did for gender renos is put up a portion giving the men's washroom the sinks and paper towel and giving the female washroom toilets and tubs...it appeared I was the only female washing my hands in the tub..this unsanitary arrangement of no sinks on the female side is enough that i won't go back...
I was so exhaustive by the time I left i forgot my phone charger costing me an extra 30.00 ...sometimes you get what you pay for..but it doesn't cost much to make signs to ask females to wash hands in tubs..yes sinks are in each room but how many doorknobs did they contaminate by the time they washed their hands...
Please please do signs to remind guests.. shhhhhh after 10 and supervise your own chillins...be courteous...and mindful that shared accommodations.. is not your own living room..

Blink blink

We spent a few nights here and were very happy with the residence.  Spotless, if sparse, rooms were quite adequate for all four of us.  We had a 4 bedroom "apartment" which allowed all of us privacy and comfort with a large comfortable common area to relax in.  The location was beautiful and very quiet and a great place to relax after long days of sightseeing.

Very clean and quiet at a great price

The location is clean and price well. The rooms are small but the view of the bay is amazing. Very close to the city. Free coffee in the morning.The full kitchen saved money for meals. We would stay again in this location.

Great Place to stay if travelling with a group or by yourself.

This university residence is located on a beautiful campus atop a hill above Bedford Basin. We had a very attractive and well-maintained 4 bedroom apartment with a kitchen and living room(with television). Having 2 full bathrooms was a bonus!!! This setup afforded everyone in our party, which included my 85-year-old mother and two of our teenage daughters, a bit of space and privacy, which was welcome after travelling for a week!!! 
The staff members that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was very organized and quick. Keys were waiting and labelled. The young lady that waited on us said she didn't usually do this job, but she was awesome. She gave me tips on best time to head into the city and some routes to take to avoid construction! The staff member who received our keys at checkout was also very pleasant and positive.  The team of housekeeping staff that we encountered just before we checked out were friendly and polite. 
We would happily stay here again. 😎 We have stayed in university residences before and know what we are in for. Before you reserve a room, expecting a hotel experience, you need to know that single residence mattresses are hard and lumpy and the pillows are thin. There is no air conditioner. That's just the way it is. This is a residence, not a 4-star hotel. 
We were in the 5th floor. Even though it was quite warm for Nova Scotia during the day, it cooled off at night and with the windows open, we still needed to cover up with blankets, so lack of air conditioning was not a problem.  I am sure that during the year, students bring foam mattress toppers and extra pillows to make themselves more comfortable  but we did not have that advantage!!! To me, the low price and setup of this 4-bedroom residence suite with 2 private bathrooms more than made up for the hard beds. Know what you are signing up for and don't be surprised (or critical) when residence doesn't offer you all the comforts of a hotel.

Great residence stay

It's a very good deal when you travel as a family.  The suite has four rooms, a big common area with a flat TV, a full kitchen and two bathrooms.  Plenty of spaces. We stayed there for only one night but we're happy with the facilities. Highly recommend to anyone who travel in the area with a budget and required a safe and clean place to stay.
