Great location, clean and comforatble room. Loved that our large dog was allowed and there was lots of space to walk her. Close to highway, stores and Baddeck. There was a pool that looked like it would great in season (was closed). Fridge and coffe maker nice for our travelling.

Friendly staff and great location

The Fair Isle Motel was one of my favorite stops on my recent trip! Christena is so wonderful and friendly to all the customers and makes you feel like family as soon as you arrive! The view is spectaclar and the room was clean. quiet and had everything you need. Its also located centrally so you're close to whatever it is you may need and the sign at the bottom of the hill makes it so very easy to find!
I would absolutely stay here again if/when I get back to Whycocomagh!

simple and perfect

Pleasant, friendly rustic motel on the remote winding Cabot Trail.  The beds and bed linens were very comfortable.  The pictures on the website are accurate to our experience.  It was too cold to use the outdoor pool while we were there, but it looked nice.  We stayed there for proximity to the Red Shoe, a restaurant and venue for great Cape Breton music.

Pleasant and Friendly

This was a lovely Motel right in the heart of Cape Breton. Felt like part of the family as soon as we arrived. Christina was lovely! The friendly labs were a welcome treat as I was missing my own dog. Rooms were very clean and staff extremely friendly!

Wonderful find in Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia!

Lovely location overlooking the lake. Clean cute rooms that you can drive right up to. Staff is extremely friendly and they love dogs. Our room has a fridge with freezer, kettle, coffee maker, microwave and toaster.Nice pool and beautiful property. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to stay 

From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was part of a very nice family.  Indeed, the matriarch is Head Housekeeper, assisted by one of her daughters, with Christina, her other daughter, as Manager, son-in-law as Maintenance Person and granddaughter as night clerk.  The rooms and grounds are kept spotless, and I didn't even have trouble with mosquitoes-almost unheard of in the Maritimes!  The room was huge and had a full kitchenette.  There is a very nice swimming pool, and beautiful views of Bras d'Or Lakes from almost every spot on the property.  The two dogs are vigilant, but very entertaining, once they know you. I would stay here again.

I liked the friendly labs, laundry, the beds as I slept well, and the view. Close to a nice park for a picnic, and if I remember the road correctly, a gas station is close by. The lady at the desk is very nice and welcoming. If I am on holidays I will definitely re book here.

Friendly Place, comfy beds, slept well.

The property is located just off of the highway but is quiet and well maintained.  The room was very comfortable - great mattresses.  My granddaughters lovely the swimming pool and of the three accomodations we stayed in during our 4 day trip to Cape Breton, this was by far the best.

Wonderful stay

We weren't supposed to stay here...but a fall out with another motel in the area caused me to cancel our reservation and start the search for a new location.  The reviews for the Fair Isle seemed good and when I called and spoke to Diane on the phone, she seemed so welcoming. So we decided to take a chance. Best decision of our trip to Cape Breton!

The Fair Isle motel is from the road, unassuming at best.  And yes...they really need to get a roadside sign...we drove past it the first time.  But get beyond  that, you have found a hidden gem.

We don't need fancy...but we do need clean....and the Fair Isle motel room is spotless...and I mean it gleamed.  We opened the door and the room smelled fresh.  First impression was a good one.  The room was well appointed, with a fridge, coffee pot, toaster, and has lots of storage space as well as a/c.  The bathroom was immaculate and spacious.

But it was the feeling of welcome that meant the most to us.  Christina, the manager is a doll who went out of her way to make us feel like our business mattered and a part of the family.  Like the rest of Nova Scotia,the Fair Isle was learning to navigate the rules and regulations of business during the Corona Virus pandemic. We think they nailed it.

We are planning a return visit to Cape Breton this fall....this will be our home base.

A hidden gem

- The hospitality was top notch
- There was even a 10 percent discount at the local seafood restaurant.
- Rooms were comfortable and spacious.
- Close to restaurants and right across from the local lake.
