We spent three nights at the Turquoiz cafe and in every way it exceeded all our expectations. Our host Marie was the best. Amazing coffee and the breakfast each morning was a delight to the senses. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotless. The fact that we spoke very little French was never a problem, as our host was fluent in both French and English. The location was perfect as a base for our travels around the peninsula.

Exceeded all expectations !

We stayed with my husband for 3 days at the Turquoise Café! The rooms are spacious, very well decorated, the bathrooms offer all the necessary comforts and more. The little dej is original, here no pancakes but real dishes straight from a restaurant! The guests are very welcoming, two artists, their accommodation is really indispensable if you pass by here.

A lovely house, a refined little house and nice hosts!

The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms, although common, are absolutely flawless. The homemade breakfast was cheerfully enjoyed by our guests happy to share this moment with us. A stopover to recommend.

unexpected visits

We had such a wonderful stay at the Turquoiz Café.  The host and hostess were very nice people. Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour au Turquoiz Café. L'hôte et l'hôtesse étaient très gentils. 

Their home is lovely and beautifully decorated with paintings done by the hostess herself, Marie. The bedroom was large and the beds were super comfortable.There was also a convenient separate sink in our room. The shared bathroom felt luxurious with a large  soaker bathtub and separate large shower area. They even provided slippers and bathrobes for our use. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean.  Our hostess made a delicious salmon crêpe for breakfast served with wonderful cappuccino. The sitting room had an amazing view of the beautiful red lighthouse at La Martre. We felt at home here at Turquoiz and would recommend this bed and breakfast to all our friends.

Wonderful hospitality and fantastic stay!

The Turquoise Café is a charming lodge in a magnificent house that was once a presbytery. We had a coffee break there during our recent trip to Gaspésie. The reception of the owners was the warmest and the coffee...exquisite! The place offers an impressive view of the famous lighthouse of La Martre and the sea in the background. Our visit also allowed us to discover the works of the owner who is also an artist-painter.

Coffee break in an old rectory!

Nice large room with sink. 2 nicely decorated common bathrooms. Tasty but not copious breakfast. Good coffee! The owner being a painter displays her colorful works that can be bought. Gîte situated in front of the sea and the lighthouse which is also very interesting to visit. However, there is nothing else to do or visit in La Martre. I recommend this gîte for its comfort. It is a nice stop between Matane and Gaspé.

An old presbytery well maintained

This property is really excellent. The owner and her partner are very friendly and friendly people. It has three beautifully decorated rooms. Everything is clean and you feel comfortable around it. In addition, it has a small relaxation room from which you can see directly to the St. Lawrence power and admire the magnificent lighthouse. The breakfast is prepared with a lot of love and tastes great. The coffee from the Italian coffee machine is also very good. I found it great that the owner puts a lot of value on healthy and regional products again. I would go immediately.

Wow...that is my first reaction to this wonderful bed and breakfast located in a tiny village of La Martre, in Gaspesie, Quebec. Their home is so beautiful both inside and out. Everywhere you look you experience a delight for all your senses and soul. Marie and JJ, were outstanding hosts and even made our dinner reservations for us (in French, of course, which we really appreciated. Our breakfasts were the very best we have had at all the bed and breakfasts we have stayed (over 20 different ones in Canada). 
Our large bedroom was fantastic, such a comfortable bed and beautifully decorated. 
Marie is an incredibly talented artist, both in the kitchen, as our personal barista for exquisite gourmet coffees and co-chef with JJ. As well she is a painter of great oil paintings (for sale), fabric arts and sculpture and many more creative things. While JJ is a superb photographer and printer (and co-chef)! Their creative spirits infuse your heart and imagination with wondrous sights.
The view towards the working lighthouse and the St. Lawrence Seaway is spectacular!
All in all this home is an exceptional oasis and an absolute gem to stay at. It is located within less than an hour of the great Gaspesie National Park. We wish we had more time to spend with this couple who are very gracious and knowledgable. We plan to come back again in the near future. Thank you for a delightful and delicious stay.

Gorgeous and Delicious!

Three of us stayed at the Turquoiz Cafe in La Martre for one night -- we should have stayed for a week! This was the most warm, hospitable and beautiful home away from home that we found on all of our journey throughout the Gaspesie! Our hosts were superb - kind, thoughtful, and generous with their insights about the area, and the breakfast was perfect -- especially the wonderful coffee. We loved looking out from the upper terrace at the well-beautiful red lighthouse, and found it was a perfect place for evening apertifs. The rooms are beautifully furnished - and both the hosts are talented artists -- an extra bonus for art lovers.  I can offer no suggestions for improvement, except to say, I would like to return for a much longer stay. Thank you Marie and jean-Jacques!
