The deck we must walk across to access our room is so rotten I worry we may actually fall through.  The location is great and the beds and linens on it are comfortable. Our room seems clean enough and is spacious. But the safety of the deck is downright shocking.

Dangerous deck!

We stayed in Lunenburg for one night. Since almost all the accommodations were booked, we were happy to get two more rooms in the Wheelhouse Motel. The rooms were well furnished and clean. Unfortunately there was no breakfast, but we were able to walk to Tim Horten's. We were also able to walk to the old town and were grateful that we didn't have to look for parking there.

Solid housing

Beautiful, large, comfortable, well-decorated room with coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator, the motel is a 10-minute walk from the historic center, probably the best choice at an affordable price.

Good for the price.

We had a room upstairs. It was super quiet when there weren't many guests. It was a lot of lunch in the garden. The first night was a little louder because it was bright. Very friendly owners. We felt very comfortable.

Perfect for Lunenburg.

First off the lady at check in, Jenny was super nice and friendly. It's a small thing but sometimes it makes a big difference. The room was clean and stocked with extra pillows and fans which was great. The room was very big so we didn't feel cramped at all. The hotel was dated which wasn't really a big deal except for the price. It was over $160 with no breakfast. The wifi worked really well so that was a plus. I would go back if I was stuck but not because the place was poor or anything the price was really steep.

Tough one..

We just got back from spending 11 days at this motel. From the moment we checked in til we checked out, the owners and staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. When we checked in the owner provided us with some of her favorite local beer and later sent Strawberries up to our room. There were 5 deer that roamed the property morning and evening. The room was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. I was a little nervous that the room wasn’t air conditioned but the reversible fan kept our room comfortable. At night we slept under a blanket. I can’t say enough about how comfortable the owner and staff made us feel. 

Great people

Place was Clean Staff Friendly A Mom n Pop place close to the Bay n Downtown. Short Walk to Enjoy Great place to Eat Breakfast on the Water Was Great Stay Highly would Recommend for Bikers traveling they Loved Having US on Our Harleys 

Rode our motorcycles to Nova Scotia was last minute stop was Very. Clean n Great Owner she made us feel very welcome 

We checked several of the downtown room online and decided the Wheelhouse offered the best rooms at the best prices. The trade-off is the walk to town. The walk isn't bad but we decided to drive to the end of the walkway in the park and then walked to downtown for a meal and for the views. BTW: the best Lunenburg views are from the side the Wheelhouse is on, across the harbor. It was nice walking in the park, with historical plaques along the way. Walking downtown is easy with plenty of restaurants to choose from. We ate at the Grand Banker. The room was clean and large. The grounds were great for sitting and relaxing. The front desk was great at offering help and advice. We recommend you consider staying at the Wheelhouse.

Good Place to Stay.

This motel is situated in a delightful part of the town - serene surroundings, peaceful, yet only a few minutes from the waterfront activities of Lunenburg.  From arrival to departure, guest will be impressed with the friendly service given by staff members and the comfort of the accommodations.   

Comforting and Welcoming

The motel is located a little outside the old town but this one can be reached in 10 minutes. The motel has gone through the years and it needed to be urgently renovated from the ground up. The walls and floors are obviously thin. You can hear the voices from next door and the steps from the top floor and the noise of water when the neighbor is showering or the toilet is washing. The furniture also seems stale and somewhat dirty. The carpet is very stale. The lavatory was very stale. Fortunately, I have my Croggs with me. Unfortunately, you can't open the window either.
