From the arrival, to the departure, everything was perfect!! We gphad rented a cottage( Willow).
The cottage was well equiped, clean, and comfortable.  The use of the kayaks, and canoes made for a fun weekend.  We had dinner the first night .  The menu had a variety to suite anyones palette.  I had the Butter chicken.  It was delicious.  We had a fire at night at one of the pits.  It was equipped with wood, and it was well situated on the beach.  All the staff was friendly, informative, and ready to make any situation happy.  We had celebrated a Birthday, and hadnt brought a cake, so the restaurant put a lovely brownie cake at a fair price.  It was yummy.  My family, and I would like to return in the future.  Thanks Grand Tappatoo!!!!!

Family getaway.

We had booked a deluxe (larger) room but the number of stairs to our room proved daunting for our knees. We were switched to a standard room with just 3 steps in an older building on the property. The room was fine, but the rug was dirty and not vacuumed. The bathtub was dirty, with hair from previous guests found, as well as stains on the light switch that I first thought was blood. The room itself was decorated nicely, with pretty bedspreads. The a/c worked well, and there was a fireplace that we didn’t use.
There is a sandy beach and fairly shallow access to Otter Lake. We had stayed here several times about 20 years ago, and we were disappointed in the upkeep of the pool and sauna area. The safety rail at the stairs to enter the pool was very wobbly, with a small pipe taped under the rail in an attempt to make it steady. Not safe! The sauna just wasn’t working, with the controls taped to the wall outside the door. I wouldn’t attempt to use it, as it appears to be a fire hazard. The pool is still lovely, but the torn and patched pool cover was unsightly. When we stayed here years ago there was a wall of french doors that opened to a beautiful view of the lake; the doors no longer open and latches are rusted. There were a number of families staying here during our visit and they mostly used the beach and waterfront, so perhaps the pool wasn’t an issue for them.
Note: when I checked for travel directions to Tapatoo some discount travel sites popped up and I was shocked at the difference between what we paid (279$ for deluxe room, 252$ for the standard we switched to) and the discount price which was about 50% less. I mentioned this at reception and I asked if I had received the best discount (which was the senior discount) and was told that was the price. 
Note 2: the property itself is lovely, and the staff could be seen diligently cleaning and maintaining the site.
Note 3: we had dinner at the Forest restaurant in the main building, and our orders of fish & chips, and a chicken avocado sandwich were tasty and generous in size, with a side of a very tasty green salad filled with the usual ingredients as well as a variety of peppers. Really great!

Pretty locale on quiet Otter Lake

Amazing, peaceful place that we happened upon. Newly renovated room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant.  Plates were overflowing with fresh, great tasting food.  Can’t wait to go back. 

“Peace” of heaven!!

Wonderful stay. Excellent meal. Very nice staff. Beautiful drive into the resort. We also visited Aspen Valley Wildlife refuge which was a half hour drive away. Well worth the visit and a very worthwhile organization.

Alex assisted us with a great room and made check in easy. 
Beautiful location just past Parry Sound with everything you need to enjoy this great resort. 
The rooms, pool, sauna, beach area and recreational equipment kayaks etc all easy to access and free. Rooms very comfortable & very clean. 
So happy we stayed here in our early 60’s, though disappointed we didn’t know about it all the years we travelled through with our sons enroute to Toronto. So worth the stay, but make sure you plan for no less than 2 days! Thank you again, we will return!

Good experience .  We were welcomed by Patrica at reception who made check in easy and  efficient.  Room was clean, well appointed with a beautiful view.  Dinner was just ok…….nothing special, however breakfast  was excellent , served by friendly Heather.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tappattoo;;
Accommodation was satisfactory and the meals were excellent.
We will consider staying there again in the future.
Since it was early fall, and we are an older couple, we were there for relaxation and some dock fishing.  My husband was disappointed that he didn't catch any fish.  Otherwise we felt refreshed when we returned to our home in southern Ontario.

Clean and comfortable

We just got back from Grand Tappattoo.  Upon arrival, it really is a majestic spot.  The views are beautiful.  We arrived really early and were impressed we were able to get our room, a huge bonus.  Checking in was easy and quick, customer service was great.  Went to our room and upon walking the halls we started to wonder what we got ourselves into.  Very outdated hallways and common spaces.  Lots of carpet, in light colours that shows every stain.  To be honest we were a little worried walking to our room.  Once arriving to our room we were pleasantly surprised.  The room was beautiful.  The view from the room was excellent.  We went to have a glass of wine on the balcony of our room and notice there was a empty alcohol can precious guests used as an ashtray on the ground.  Ashes as well.  No biggie, we left the can but cleaned up the ashes so we could sit out there comfortably.  We took out a canoe, which was free of charge, and had an excellent time.  Went back to the room to relax before dinner after and thought it would be nice to use the fireplace in room as it was on the cool side out.  Fireplace didn’t work.  A little disappointing but it was okay.  Went to dinner at Forest Cafe and it was great.  Service was really good and the food was delicious.  We have nothing but good things to say.  Pool was open until 10pm so we went for a swim.  Pool was nice, the area was clean and it was nice and quiet was we were the only ones there.  The next morning we found that there was no hot water for us to take showers.  Spent a good half hour waiting to see if hot water would kick in and it never did.  My husband braved a stone cold shower. I just stuck my head under the shower head and washed my hair that way - this was probably the most disappointing part of our stay.  Our overall impression was that this resort has so much potential but falls a little short in the areas that could make your stay excellent.  Especially for the price. We stayed in room 82, so if you stay and have this room - at current time expect no fireplace or hot water for showers.

Honest Review

Our group of 12 adults had dinner at Tapatoo.  Our reservation was for 7 pm and the server took our food and drink orders at 7:10.  The drinks arrived promptly but it was over an hour before our appetizers arrived.  Our meals finally arrived between 8:50 and 9 pm.  During this time the server did not return to our table to offer us more drinks.  After the meals arrived the server did not return until we had finished eating and when we asked for our bills she went around the table and asked each person what they had ordered. We finally got out of there at about 10 pm.  The mediocre food and slow service were not worth the ridiculous amount of time we had to wait and we will not be returning.
