You read the reviews and think nowhere can be that good surely, well Flying Cloud really is, and if Viv and Neil decide to call it a day this year, they can retire happliy knowing that they really got  it right. The location is ideal for just falling off the ferry, great views over the harbour and a good base for a few days around Nanaimo. However, it is Viv and Neil's attention to every detail that made our stay so great, they had even visited our home turf via google earth! Fantastic breakfasts, good local knowledge and great conversation.  If it's not too late, visit, if it is too late, thanks and enjoy your well-earned retirement

wow, this is how B & B should be the world over !

A very personal and certainly one of the most beautiful B&Bs on our tour. Vivian and Neil welcomed us with a small aperitif and showed us our rooms with a wonderful view over Departure Bay. We were surprised by the wildlife around the house - from hummingbirds to hiking in the garden or on the street - there is much to see with luck! Good tips for entertainment and food have also not been lacking and in the evening it is pleasant to have a glass of wine on the terrace or in the living room or to play a game of billiards.

Charming host!

A wonderful and large house in a fantastic location - quiet // with views of Nanaimo, the harbour and the whole bay!! The breakfast had been one of the best on our tour! - with the great view from the terrace! Vivian and Neil are very warm and friendly hosts! They had invited us to the party with the neighbors that is just about to take place. After our city tour we were still stumbled. That was a really good conversation in a cozy and pleasant round. Unfortunately we could only stay here one night / really pity!

Tour of Canada 2014

Vivien and Neil  are the two frienliest and most hospitable hosts. We spent 4 nights here and were greeted on our first day with wine and cheese facing the most magnificent view of the Nanaimo Harbour. When you first enter this spectacular home, the view that you see is amazing, you will be mesmerized and it sends goose bumps.Four mornings we were treated to Vivien's delicious breakfasts, they are so filling you are ready to take on any outdoor activity for the day. The meal is tastefully created and set out on beautiful dishes and crisp linens with special touches like fresh cut flowers from the garden on the property. Everything is immaculate,you couldn't ask for a bettr place to stay. We stayed in the harbour room and it's a quiet suite on the bottom floor and it was so quiet and peaceful, you think you're the only ones here. The hosts are always on hand to give you helpful directions and ideas of places to visit to make your stay in Nanaimo memorable.

your best choice for Nanaimo

Booked this accommodation via the Internet from the UK.  What a stunning choice and a very memorable one.  From the moment we arrived at their house and saw the view across to other islands, we were hooked.
The guest accommodation provided was luxurious and the hosts Viv and Neil, exceptional. They were friendly and welcoming  and genuinely interested in their guests.  They worked hard at making International guests feel at ease and were very hospitable in sharing their home.  The breakfasts provided, while vegetarian, were creative, appetising and filling.  A lot of effort was made to ensure that the food was fresh and well presented.  We were genuinely sorry when our stay with them ended.  Not to be missed if in the Nanaimo area of Vancouver Island.

A stunning choice!

Neil and Vivian Reinhart as your hosts make this a positive and overall great experience.Their local knowledge and network provide many options on how to spend the day.It is more than a B&B with it's spectacular views,sauna,hot tub and pool table.Amenities galore.Lots of space with excellent sleeping quarters for both couples and families.The breakfast menus are creative using local fare and absolutely delicious.Neil and and Vivian are very engaging and make you feel like part of the family.

The B&B is simply superb and indescribable. The location is great, the room was great and the two hosts were absolutely warm and friendly. Besides the rooms there is a guest room with bar, TV corner, pool table and hot tub. The breakfast was excellent and rich with great quality. Respect: There are two cats in the house and you fall in love with them right away - if you have an allergy, please remember this.

A wonderful stay

We can also confirm all the positive reviews. The Flying Cloud is a top B&B with very loving, charming and attentive hosts. We felt like good friends with Vivian and Neil from the first moment. The interesting and also fun conversations, as well as the wonderful breakfast, we totally enjoyed and would have liked to have stayed. It was all right and we can only warmly recommend the Flying Cloud. Thank you, dear Vivian and Neil, take good care and have fun with your babies!

A Beautiful House in the Best Location

My husband, adult daughter and I stayed at the Flying Cloud B&B at the end of July and enjoyed our 3 night stay tremendously.
From the warm welcome on arrival to our final breakfast we were treated like special guests. The breakfasts were amazing, our rooms very comfortable and the views over Nanimo Harbour unforgettable. 
Vivienne and Neil were wonderful hosts and we would like to think that if we return to Vancouver Island in the future the Fling Cloud will still be there!

A gem of a Bed and Breakfast!

In August 2013, we went on a two-night tour of British Columbia in the Flying Cloud, and not only did we get beautiful rooms, but we got an entire floor with our own living room, including a pool table, and our own terrace with a hot tub and sauna. The hosts, Vivian and Neil, are warm, educated and loving people who make you feel at home. The breakfast was excellent, and as a celiac disease sufferer, you can even enjoy baked gluten-free muffins and other treats that you have to give up on vacation. We would come back anytime!
