This was the worse stay I ever had.  The receptionist was rude and aggressive.  Her attitude was deplorable, even the people behind me in line were shocked.  If I hadn't already paid for my night I would have kept on driving.  As for the hotel itself, it boosts being ocean side, that"s fine if you are a mountain goat and can scale the cliff down to the beach or take the rickety old stairs.  Plus the location is far from town, nothing is in walking distance.  Once in the room the carpet is ripped and coming unravelled.  The pipes on the bathroom sink clang and bang then water finally spits out.  The floor board in front of the sink is rotten and sags when you step on it.  The walls are paper thin, you can listen to the tv from the other guess like you where in the same room.  

Keep driving and stay somewhere else

Three well-maintained motel, warm shelter, intimate balcony, excellent sea view, nearby beach, restaurant and grocery store, only inconvenient heavy vehicle traffic at night, but for the rest, it's number one.

I'm going to tell you something.

Very bad experience. First, I was given the keys to a room that wasn't cleaned: unmade beds, strollers left by the last travelers. Then I was given the keys to another room: a spa and bathroom that was scaled and yellow, a very small bathroom, old lamps and carpet that felt the moisture.

Leisure travel

This is the 6th motel/hotel we stayed at during a tour of the region and it was such a pleasant surprise!
From the outside, the motel looks a bit worn but it’s lovely on the inside.
The vibe inside is very mid century modern and the room we had was spacious with a balcony overlooking the bay. 
There’s a fridge and a coffee maker, REAL mugs and REAL glasses.
On the entrance side, the road results in noise, of course, but on the bay side you have the relaxing sound of the waves.
The room was clean and the towels were bright white as well as thick, soft, and absorbent.
We loved our one-night stay here!

A pleasant surprise!

I visited the Carleton Motel on the sea last August 21 and had a very, very bad experience. Not only is the room fresh, in a very noisy corner and smells like cigarettes, but the person who hosted us was aggressive and really stupid.

Two positive points. The view of the sunrise is beautiful, and they accept dogs. (but maybe not next year because the new owners want to renovate). The rest is just negative, room that smells of humidity, water-crushed ceilings. dirty sink. Several insects of different sizes on the beds and on the furniture. No microwave. Very poor soundproofing. Vehicle traffic on the road very close, very present and often disturbing. Birds enter the walls. No restaurants on site and the city center is still away from the hotel, you have to drive there. Very small bathroom. Doubtful cleanliness.

Not recommended

New owners bought it 2 months ago. They're going to renovate everything. Bad air conditioning, relative comfort, the water works as old (hot tap water cools the shower. Roadside rooms, trucks at night can be disturbing. The new owners are very nice. The location is very nice, access to the waterfront.

It will be completely renovated, so it's not relevant.

The night of August 30 to 31, 2020 in room 68 with sea view. We paid $118.00 for our room 68 (double balcony) for a total of $140.42 with the three taxes. We had coffee in the room. We had two clean and comfortable double beds. We had a balcony with patio door and a beautiful sea view. We stopped there about noon because it was raining and we were on a motorcycle. The wifi was working well. We took advantage of it to rest to the fullest. The owners were very friendly. We had a very pleasant conversation with them the next morning when we left. The motel is located at the hotel in downtown about 10 kilometers away. We recommended this. We recommended this.

A peaceful night by the sea

The motel is quite comfortable and very clean, a five-minute drive from Carleton-sur-Mer and Maria, the staff is warm and polite, a small seaside motel with a private beach where you can swim.

Comfortable and warm

Very nice welcome by the owner. This motel has good bedrooms with view on the water. Just very confortable and relaxing  appart with the noise of the waves ! Breakfast in the dining room with a great view on the beach.
