A very fun little restaurant in a small charming town. Service was a bit slow, but my margarita made up for that in a hurry. Neat spot, chickens running around in the very nice gardens. Tacos were very tasty and we were surprised with free chips and corn dip. Nice spot to sit and relax, the Mexican music made it all the better.

What a great experience. Stopped in for a lunchtime snack and enjoyed the atmosphere and talking with the friendly staff. The menu looks great although we tried the simple beef taco and quesadilla with some mexican rice. Based on that we will be back to sample some of the main dishes. The Cantina bar also looked great so there are opportunities for restaurant and patio dining. In an area where many of the restaurants have very simiolar offerings Tacos and Tequila stands out.

Food here is amazing. Any Mexican food that you have had before it is better here. The owner and his wife are from Mexico and they personally make the food. There margaritas and other drinks are fantastic. Mexican beer, yes. You should call for reservations as this restaurant is really busy.

Homemade Mexican food at its best

Our family of 14 people ages from 4 to 70 enjoyed a wonderful lunch.  The food was very tasty and the drinks were very much enjoyed by the adults.  Our server, Amy did a very good job of looking after our boisterous group!  We had a wonderful time and hope to go back again.  Highly recommend a meal in the gazebo for a larger group.

Lunch for 14 people

We came here on a recommendation... first impression was cute little patio, live music, Mexican food... we were all in!
No patio seats available, so we opted for a picnic table. Not a great choice... sugar ants EVERYWHERE. They don't bite, but was a nuisance- all over the table and us. Other picnic tables struggled with the same issue.
Our drink order was taken promptly. The only highlight... the Mexican mule drink was delicious. But that was the ONLY thing that was prompt.
One man band was playing - he was good. Until he took break. Then he left some canned music on repeat... it was SO annoying. Like elevator music you cannot escape from. A large party was seated beside us about 15 mins later & they promptly requested the canned music be stopped (thank god).
We were waiting to order, and lo and behold, the large party that came in after us got to order 1st. We finally order a steak burrito to split.
In the meantime, no one asks to refresh our drinks. Waitresses are spending lots of time at a table behind the singer with 3 young men drinking beer.
Food finally arrives. They knew we were sharing but did not cut it in half. No big deal. I do so... and a huge piece of gristly meat falls out. Meat is greyish in colour. Barely any cheese or sour cream to be seen.
My husband will eat ANYTHING, especially meat. He didn't finish his half. In fact, it was so bad we ended up deconstructing it... I pulled out all the rice & beans, he ended up with all the steak... there wasn't much steak & he still did not finish it. He thought it was inedible.
Still no one comes to refill drinks, ask about our dinner. Still lots of visits by wait staff to young men in the gazebo.
No one came to our table. I went in to the bar and asked for a bill and was told to ask the server. I finally flag the server down & ask for the bill. 15 minutes later, I had to flag a second server down to finally get our bill.
Yes, it was busy... we weren't impatient, but if you can visit a table of guys drinking pitchers of beer 7 or 8 times but cannot check in on a  guest once... that is just poor service.
Between the bad food & poor service, sadly we will NOT be back.

Bad food, inattentive service

My wife and I had been here earlier just after Covid and everything was excellent, so we decided to go with our daughter today. Excellent service again and as usual, great food. Freshly made with the best ingredients. Served hot. Fernando and his wife are excellent hosts. Also a wonderful drive through the forest on the winding road. If you like great Mexican food this is the place to eat.

Excellent service, amazing food

Newly opened, this is a hidden gem. We were able to sit on the patio on this unseasonably warm Nov day. Will return with friends to enjoy their Mexican food and friendly, fast service. Liked that their gluten free items were well marked on the menu.

Tacos and Tequila restaurant is now located at this site. Great Mexican food and service. Lots of gluten free options.

We have not stayed at the Inn as we live in Port Dover, but the restaurant is really good...if you like authentic style Mexican dishes. We have been there three times this summer and NEVER disappointed. The owner Maria (from Puerto Vallarta Mexico) is very friendly and has chatted with us at our table each visit.

I found out this was a new ownership and was now a Mexican menu. Being a lover of Mexican food and being disappointed at several "Mexican" restaurants in Canada that can't even make guacamole, we were reluctant to try it, but I must say it is the best we have tried anywhere outside of Mexico, hands down.

Also the Margaritas are real, not made with a sweet mix, or crappy tequila. The menu is mainly taco dishes on corn tortillas and also taquitos, enchiladas, chimichangas, tacos, etc. with hamburgers if you don't want Mexican...

I have seen many poor reviews about this business, but please be aware this is new ownership and is NOTHING like the previous menu at all...IT'S DELICIOUS!

We will be visiting again this week for sure. If you love Mexican food - Go Here!

Restaurant is Awesome

It was a very nice place to stay. Room was clean and cozy and there was a separate entrance from the main house, making it very private. It is only a 5 min drive to Turkey Point and there are lots of trails around and a small beach at a walking distance. Maria is available if need be and is very friendly. Would highly recommend it and I will definitely return if ever in the area again.

Impersonal host who was rarely on site.  Small bedroom but a good sized bathroom.  The breakfast was virtually non-existent with tired looking pre-pored cereal, saran wrapped muffins (day or 2-old), bagel, bread (for toasting).  This breakfast is equivalent to a two star motel continental breakfast that is past the best before date.  Based on the rate charged, our expectations were disappointing.  However, the coffee was a highlight.  
More historical history of the building and the locale would have been interesting to learn from the management.  The overall presentation of the facility was sadly lacking.....pity!
