An older property but appears well maintained. Clean, comfortable room with small kitchenette. Located in the center of the historic townsite. Not too much around it but shopping and restaurants only a 5 minute drive away.  Perfectly adequate for a short stay.

Clean and comfortable

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. I stayed at the hotel for almost 2 weeks and I found the customer service was much better than I have seen at more expensive hotels. Thanks Manveer for making my stay enjoyable!

Clean, comfortable and great customer service!

While an old motel, there have been budget friendly modernizations. The rooms were fairly clean. Location is nice - in historical district of Powel River. Despite being on a fairly busy road, it was very quiet at night. Would have liked tissue and a hair dryer in the room and a TV that did not require a college degree to operate.

OK for 1 night

I recently completed a 12 day trip with only one stay at a chain hotel. The Island View is a great example is what is out there to help support the local community and have clean and comfortable accommodation. I had no idea that the lodge was in a historic townsite - go for a walk! Check-in was smooth and easy. The room was comfortable and had a kitchenette. There was a nice comfy chair for reading, too!

Nice motel in the heart of the historic townsite

We recently stayed at the hotel with our extended family and the customer service was next to none.  This family goes above and beyond to accommodate everyone’s needs.  This place has a spectacular view from the rooms and a place to sit an relax outside to enjoy the sunset. Not the newest of buildings but the rooms were comfortable especially the beds.  We had a great nights sleep. It is across the street from a cafe and close to a couple of restaurants.  Also walking distance to the Willingdon beach walking trail. It sits in the historical district which is quiet and a great place to walk around.  The ferry terminal and the main shopping area is only 5 km away by car.  I would highly recommend this hotel for value, comfort and customer service.

Excellent place to stay

Stayed for one night only on our way through town.  We were pleasantly surprised.  It is located in the end of town in the historic district.  This is a very nice family that runs this hotel and they are very pleasant to deal with.  Don't pay attention to the old photos on TripAdvisor, look on the hotel website for updates.  They have updated the hotel nicely and for the price you are paying, you should be very happy.  Clean, comfortable, with nice updates in the bathroom including modern marble tile.  Clean laminate floors so you don't have to worry about dirty old motel style carpets.  Nice bedding too!  Everything you will need for a comfortable stay.  I couldn't believe the reasonable rates in the middle of summer!  Also, if you have an electric car, there is a very reasonable rate Flo charger 1 block from the hotel.  There is a mill in front of the hotel not too far, but did not affect our stay at all.

Very nice little Motel

We were just passing through Powell River in transit, had the good luck to find accommodation at the Island View Lodge. The room was great, quiet location, super efficient air conditioning, great beds. Very reasonable cost. Bathroom small but has been updated. Fine basic accommodation, we will definitely return.

Lovely hosts, nice updates

Stayed here last year, and since then, the owners have done a lot of work to improve their property.  Happy to stay there, and would certainly return.  Very good value for the money.  Excellent view across the water from the upper level.

Clean and comfortable.

Located in the Historic north end of Powell River, rooms have a view of the ocean and mountains to the west.  The owners have done extensive and intelligent renovations.  Rooms are spotless and come equipped with bar fridge, coffee maker, small microwave, TV, spacious closet, comfortable sitting chairs, VERY comfortable beds.  The washrooms are newly tiled (with plenty of hot water) & are pristine clean.  Intelligent additions include a convenient power bar to charge many electronics and a second mirror with a shelf so two people can easily get ready for the day.  Outside, glass windscreens have been added to the patios and balconies to block the wind but not the view.  Each room comes with a small outdoor table and two chairs to enjoy the view.  The grounds have been landscaped & tables & chairs added for additional outdoor seating.  Plenty of easy-to-access, stair-free parking (except rooms on the second floor - but they have an even better view!).  The owners are incredibly nice & so willing to help in every way.  

Lovely setting, lovely room, lovely family run operation

It’s a basic motel. It hasn’t been updated in a while. But it works and it’s clean and it’s priced well. The owners are friendly.  
I stayed 4 nights and had the chance to see some extra cleaning required by Covid19. 
It’s in the old part of town. The Indian restaurant and the brewery nearby add to this convenient location.
