The loft was clean and fully equipt. Kitchen had everything you would need and the bathroom had wonderfully thick towels. I did, however, feel the information provided about the place was missing some pertinent information.

Firstly, the "official" address for the building is 185 Rue Saint Paul. When I arrived there, I saw the street number and the logo for Les Lofts St-Paul on the door so I knew I was in the right place. I (repetedly) entered the code I was given but it didn't work. I pressed the help button on the keypad but the person who (finally) answered didn't seem to understand the problem. 

Now, I'm relatively certain I am not the first person who has contacted them with a code issue, I'm sure they have experienced this before!  However, thinking it might be a language barrier (my French is passable, at best), I asked my colleague who was with me and whose first language is French to explain the problem. Again, no understanding and no help. 

So, I found the document that had my codes on it to recheck everything and saw in small print that my loft was at "139 Rue Saint Paul - the building with the red roof". I had no idea there were lofts in another building. Which was another problem, because I booked my colleague a loft on the 4th floor as well thinking she was going to be down the hall, but she was in another building! Highly inconvenient.

Anyway, it's -24 degrees celcius. I'm frozen from standing outside the wrong building trying to enter my code and get help for the past 20 minutes. I pick up my bags and make my way down the road to number 139 -  the building with the "red roof" (which incidentally, you cannot see if you are in front of it). It is a small brown door with the numbers 139  on it but no logo or anything that identifies it as being part of Les Lofts St-Paul. Strange. But I tried my code and voilà, I was in. 

Dragged my luggage up the stairs to the fourth floor (there are no elevators) and entered my code to the apartment, and it didn't work. Well, I knew what to do! I hit the help button on the keypad and someone answered, but, again, didn't know how to help me. She said she had to call someone. Every few minutes she came back and said "are you in yet?" No. The code isn't working. I cannot get in. Not now, not in 2 minutes, not in 4 minutes. Twenty minutes later, she was able to buzz me in.

In the apartment now, and it was quite nice. But I was afraid to go out as I didn't trust the code would get me back in. I looked at the back door to see if there was any way I could get in up the fire excape steps if I were to get locked out. Yes, there was! And I wouldn't even need a code, or a key! 

There were two doors at the back entrance, one in front of the other. The outside one had no lock at all, and the inside one only had a little slide lock installed on the inside, the kind you screw the plate with the sliding bar into the door and the plate it slides into on the door frame (see attached pic). A small hip check could get anyone inside.

The front door was more like bedroom type door that is intended for use inside a home, not as an entrance door, and the handle very loose and wobbly. The back doors were both entrance doors vs bedroom type doors, but the locks had been removed from both (as you can see in the picture), so they were no longer secure.  Unlikely that anyone would have broken in, but shouldn't a place like this have a decent level of security?

So Lofts Saint-Paul people, clearly better communication, more transparency, decent help and increased security are in need.

Great location! Very walkable to most tourist attractions and restaurants. Coffee store right next door. 
Clean apartment but minimal furnished. There were no closets, hangers or anything else for clothes. A wine opener would also be a valuable addition.

Great location but sparsely furnished apartment

This was the first time staying at Les Lofts and I must say it won't be our last time staying here. While we've been to Quebec City many times this if the first time staying in this part of the city - it was like seeing Vieux Quebec for the first time so many restaurants and shops. The accommodation was amazing plenty of space to spread out. The full kitchen was great but must admit we ventured out to restaurants most days. Having a washer/dryer was an added suprise. I think our only complaint was the lighting or lack of lighting in the bedroom as the plugs only half worked so if you have a cpap machine you don't have a bedside lamp or vice versa. We managed though so all was good. The staff were amazing in getting our tv back up and running. 

I would highly recommend Les Lofts St Paul to everyone wanting to take in sights of Vieux Quebec - just make sure you wear your walking shoes as there is alot of hills and stairs.

Fabulous get away

Very clean, comfortable unit. Within walking distance of everything!! Easy, contactless checkin/checkout.

Only minor inconvenience was no coffee maker and no hooks for clothing in the bedrooms. 

The stairs are very steep, just to be aware!!

Awesome place

This place doesn't have a reception (it's in the fine print in the travel documents). We got to the door of the 'hotel' and there is a telephone number on the door. Lucky we had international roaming and called the number. Thankfully someone answered and said that we were supposed to provide credit card details before they would provide an access code to enter the building. We had no idea that this was the case - this was not on the fine print on the travel documents. So we provided the credit card number and the man at the other end of the phone line said that we were booked into another building (it was about 200m further down the road). We got there and then there were 3 flights of very narrow and steep stairs. We had lots of baggage so getting up these stairs was difficult. It was even dangerous to walk down the stairs without any bags. This place is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or young children.

We got up to the room and one side of the bed had a large sloping beam across it, so you had to stoop down to get into bed. The other side of the unit had the same configuration and to watch TV you had to stoop to get onto the couch. You had to be careful not to bump your head on the beam when you wanted to get off the couch. 

The room had a modern and clean kitchen, as well as a washing machine and dryer.  It was located near the cruise terminal and a 15 minute walk from the train. There is an uphill walk (about 5 minutes) to get to the town of Quebec City. There were plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.

There was no service to the room even though they had a 'do not disturb' sign on the table. They also had an envelope for tips, which was strange as they provided zero service.

Bad check in experience, access to room difficult

For cleanliness, modernity, access to a full kitchen, a bathroom and a modern shower and the situation compared to Old Quebec. There's even the washing machine and dryer. Also, all the kitchen accessories are there.

Very large loft perfectly located in Old Quebec near everything. Easy paid parking a few meters from the hotel ($12 a day). Comfortable bed, nice living room and historic ambiance with stone walls. The only points to correct are that we had trouble getting the code to enter the establishment. There is no reception and everything is done online but we hadn't gotten our code back and had to call.

My husband and I have stayed in other Lofts Vieux Quebec properties, but this was the first time we stayed at Les Lofts St-Paul. We opted for this location because we figured it would be less busy than some of the others, and we were right! The space was nice and quiet. The location was perfect for us since we do a lot of walking in both the old city and the St-Roch district. We were a bit disappointed that there were no extra blankets, no coffee filters (even though there is a coffee maker which requires coffee filters), the TV did not have any streaming services (nor were we able to cast to the TV but that might have just been us not being able to figure it out lol) and the loft itself was in need of some repairs (there were some patched spots on the wall in our bedroom that had not been finished). Overall, we were comfortable and content.

We spent US Thanksgiving week in Quebec City and we are so glad we found Les Lofts! We stayed at St-Paul. This location is on a lovely street with shops, cafes and restaurants. We parked our car at a very nearby location and left it for the 4 days. The location is right behind the wall. It was an easy 10min (and gorgeous) walk to the "Christmas streets" that were unbelievably festive, and also a 10min walk from Les Lofts up to the upper area. It couldn't have been a better location. Keep in mind that Les Lofts has locations all over QC -- we would see their signs and they are all in great locations.

The apartment itself was modern, sleek, and pristinely CLEAN. The master was a comfy queen platform bed, and the 2nd bedroom built in bunks that were perfect for any single sleepers. The kitchen had all the modern amenities, allowing us to easily cook the night we arrived. We had a dining area and a great living room to relax from all of our walking. 

We all agreed that when we return, we will definitely stay at Les Lofts again. Our oldest might do their spring break in QC, and the Lofts would be perfect. We are also going to recommend it to friends who plan to visit as well. Thank you for a terrific stay, Les Lofts!
