We were traveling south after a week in PEI and chose this B&B because of it's proximity to Rockwood Park--we were not disappointed!

We had less than 24 in St. John and this location was especially nice -- quiet, lovely house on a street with other Victorians and with a great attention to detail from Helena, who is a travel agent. I love her and Garth's thoughtful restoration of this lovely home. And my instincts about Rockwood Park were correct -- it was great to be walking distance to the endless trails and lakes and Lily's restaurant, where I had a fantastic seafood salad on the deck by the lake. My partner enjoyed a mountain bike ride on trials the next morning before we continued on our journey. I would describe the breakfast as "continental plus" -- lots of cereals and drink choices as well as a fruit and yogurt parfait and freshly boiled eggs. Plenty to get us on the road. 

I highly recommend the Fundy Room at the front of the house -- comfortable bed, huge bathroom with a whirlpool bath as well as a separate shower, and a great color scheme!

Elegant B&B near lovely Rockwood Park

A cozy house, a lovingly decorated room and a wonderfully simple and friendly hostess and hostess. We would like to stay longer than one night and come back on occasion.

Committed host - very nice B&B

We stayed here because we were attending a family wedding within walking distance.  I am so glad that I chose this bed & breakfast.  The hosts, Helena and Garth, were so very accomodating and gracious.  It is on a peaceful and very quiet street, which is surprising because it is in the middle of a busy city.  We stayed in the Seely Suite, which has it's own bathroom, and a sitting room, in addition to the bedroom with a queen-size bed.  Every hotel that I have ever stayed in had a bed which was too soft.  This bed was nicely firm, but not hard.  Just like my bed at home.  The pillows were the perfect balance of firmness as well (all other hotel pillows are too soft).  The breakfast was very tasty and satisfying, with lots of yummy food to chose from.  If anyone ever asks me where to stay in Saint John, I will tell them not to go anywhere but here!

Best hotel mattress EVER!

On approaching the house we were unsure as it looked like just a residential house but once inside we were very impressed. Very welcoming hosts very friendly and sociable. The room was spacious and very clean, the bathroom was superb and the breakfast was excellent both days we stayed. Nice walks nearby and only a 20 minute stroll into town. Would definitely recommend this house to anybody visiting the area. Excellent.

Road trip

We stayed here only for 1 night when travelling from Nova Scotia to Fundy National Park. The welcome was very friendly and felt like home. The room at the front of the house was very spacious with a very large bathroom. We slept very well and enjoyed the continental breakfast with a very nice yoghurt with fruit. We could use the kitchen for our evening coffee but we prefer a coffeemachine or kettle in our room so that we don't have to use somebodys kitchen. The B&B is on walking distance of a nice park with a restaurant at a lake (closed because of a wedding when we were there)

Nice B&B on a quiet location

I used to live in the house.  Cathedral ceilings 6 fireplaces.  Service stairs and its a amazing house.  Pre Victorian They don't make them like this anymore.  There is literally a sugar bush in the backyard.  There was also a huge chestnut tree at the very back.  It was built in the Manor style of homes with long narrow yards.  I would highly recommend a look at this property.  For me I am literally going home.  It is literally my old house

My old house

Had a great stay while visiting Saint John our family occupied 2 of the 3 rooms  this B&B has. We were made to feel right at home. Very comfortable and would recommend to anyone especially if wanting to be Uptown withoj bejng IN the town. Walking distance to RWP is a bonus

Relaxing stay not far from Uptown

Reservation made on the BBCANADA website. No booking confirmation from this B&B while everyone else had contacted us. We arrived at exactly the time announced on the booking was 5:00. And there was no one, the three doors of the B&B were locked and no one answered. We waited 15 minutes and were quickly forced to find a last minute solution not to sleep in the car.
