Overall, a great condo let down by lack of maintenance.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful with all the issues we raised but lack of communication with staff meant things were not fixed very rapidly.
On arrival we were only given 4 key cards for the party of 5. The coffee machine was not working and although coffee filters were supplied they were the wrong sort. This one was fixed quite quickly and the coffee supplied was good (organic Macch Picchu).
There was no floor cloth. There was a serious lack of crockery and cutlery such that we couldn't all have a hot drink at the same time!
There were only four bath and four small towels. When we mentioned this we were sent the bath towels and 4 more face flannels.
Several of the lights didn't work, including a strip over the seating area with 5 or 6 lights non of which came on.
At one point all our cards stopped working as they had been coded to expire way before we were due to check out.
As others have mentioned, if there is snow this is ski in but not quite ski out - a 50m hike takes to a run down to the base lifts.
As others have mentioned, this is a great place to stay but given the cost it should have been much better.

Overall, a great condo let down by lack of maintenance.

We are disappointed with our experience at Slalom Creek. It would be better if you sent the address to your guests with a message: “At the traffic circle, please look for the LODGING sign”. We drove around and had to ask the kind employees at the Josie to find your office. It would also be helpful to send your guests a list of restaurants and their hours. We arrived at 8:30pm and, again, the Josie front desk person informed us of the dining options.

We kindly informed you that we were parked outside the office because your staff apparently does not see it as their job to monitor the parking on the 4 spots directly in front of you. We were originally instructed to park in those spaces. When we returned in the afternoon, the spaces were occupied and your staff had not informed us of other acceptable parking spots so we were forced to park in front of your office. Later, we received a hostile and very rude phone call that was completely unnecessary from the “president” of your building. This was absolutely uncalled for and since we were being more than helpful advising your office of our parking situation and gave you our phone number, we were insulted to be spoken to in such a tone of rudeness as if we were intentionally being uncooperative. This was really bad customer service on your part. Next time we will stay at the Josie where we are welcome and they provide quality customer service. Obviously, the owners of this complex are not friendly toward outside guests.

Bad customer service

This was our second stay at the Slalom condos. We like staying here for the following reasons:
	• Close proximity to the lifts. Almost ski in and ski out.
	• Condo is spacious and clean with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Washer/dryer in the unit.
	• Private hot tub on the balcony.
	• Comfortable beds.
	• Ski storage locker

The only con was that our bedroom (we were in unit C206) was directly above the rec room.  On Saturday, I was awoken at midnight to very loud music and people partying. My husband had to go downstairs to the rec room twice tell the party goers to turn it down a notch. So annoying! Next time we will book a room in a different area of the building

Review for Slalom Creek condos

We've just left Red, staying at Slalmon Creek Lodge.   10 night stay and despite quite a few quirks we had the best time, a really unique and awesome family holiday.  We specifically were looking to get off the tourist beaten track and this place definitely ticked that box.  The apartment was 4 star. We were in building C and you really want to make sure you have the slopeside mountain view, it's awesome and the hot tub was great!! Clean,  the bedding and linen was average but the kitchen well appointed.  The ski locker a great set up.  Location is a ski-in ski-out.  The skiing is incredible, we loved the terrain and we had all weather conditions.  Not a single queue!  Has a really lovely low key, community feel to the place.  Food options on mountain are limited but very good.  Keen coffee at base area is the best! Pro rentals very good, we appreciated the very good service from the kiwis and aussies.  Great range of equipment. Didn't appreciate the change of pricing on Ikon pass holders half way through the week, but that was beyond their control.    
The quirks. Without a car it's very tricky to get in and out of town using the shuttle that runs on a very limited timetable. Red management, you really need to sort this out. Getting groceries in town is a hassle. Going out for a meal is a real hassle,  unless it's a Thurs/ Fri or Sat night going out in town  is complicated...getting home! There is no uber, very limited taxis.  Thank goodness for the Josie Hotel, we dined there ALOT but it was expensive.  Very good but overpriced for what it is but we were so grateful to have it. Rafters bar is great but food  and final drinks at 5 pm! So too early to have dinner! 
Big Red Cat Skiing was a highlight, Really great! Pricey but worth the experience and guides were great. 
I imagine we will be back some time again in the future.  Thank you Red Mountain but PLEASE fix your transport for tourists so we can keep visiting. The town of Rossland is great, we had lovely meals at The Flying Steam Shovel and Gabriellas.

Really good family holiday

We stayed at Red Mountain Resort C509 on March 22/23. The unit layout is beautiful and the majority of it appeared clean. We were thankful for the early check in and late check out. There are a few issues we would like to discuss with you, as the rate for this room was so high, it would be unfair not to communicate it as overall we were unhappy. The location was no doubt fantastic, but the service and detail was lacking. 

-All 4 key cards did not work and we could not access the room for an hour. We couldn’t get anyone on the phone and no one was in the office. We tried all available phone numbers, including the emergency line, and left many messages with no returned call. Eventually we found a staff member that helped us with new keys.  We learned other guests had the same experience with their cards. Suggestion, have someone carry a phone for emergencies 24/7 where they actually answer he phone?
-ice and water dispenser was turned off. Frustrating as it takes awhile to make ice. However, the ice machine never did work, neither did the water. No ice.
-although it’s nice to have coffee supplied there was no sugar, or any condiments for that matter (salt or pepper)
-our biggest disappointment was the hot tub as we were all very excited for this amenity. The hot tub was a great temperature but the water had a bad and unpleasant smell, was murky, and tub was slimy. There was floating debris. It was gross. No one would go in it. Very unfortunate. 
-one en-suite had a running toilet that we couldn’t fix
-the shower curtain needs replacing as there is mould on the hem.
-shampoo and conditioner would have been a nice touch. 
-the beer fridge seal is broken and needs attention.
-there was a large yellow stain on the white duvet in the larger master bedroom. We were unsure if it had been laundered or was just missed.

We understand it is nearing the end of the season, however, if you are charging premium rates, we expected this to be reflected in our stay.

Red mountain resort lodge

Still reeling from the amazing weekend at Red with the family.  We stayed at the Josie, incredible, ate at the Velvet Lounge, dreamy, and had lunch at the ski in lodge aptly named Paradise.  We had a blue bird day followed by some fresh snow the following day.  The staff are awesome making the awkwardness of covid protocols positive and safe.  Shout out to Alistar at the Josie. Rob W at Paradise who always makes us feel at home and all the lifties, patrol, and support staff.  Everyone we encountered was top notch.  We are all in for a season pass next year!!  Thanks for making our daughters birthday so epic!

Best family weekend this winter!

I stayed in the Slalom Creek building C lodging, booked through Red Mountain Resort Lodging.  My room looked up the ski mountain.  I wanted to be able to ski-in, ski-out, which this building enabled.

My room was on the 2nd floor, which meant I was looking directly into the hillside.  I believe if my room was on the 3rd floor and up I would have had a better view up the mountain, but my view was still fine.  The room had an outdoor balcony with hot tub - a very nice amenity!

The room and kitchen area were very clean, with good quality "mountain-themed" furnishings.

There are two Slalom Creek buildings, offering various views (and pricing!).  One view overlooks the roads and outdoor parking but mountains in the distance, another view looks into a courtyard between the buildings and into rooms in the other building across the courtyard, and the best views (in my opinion) look up the ski mountain (and therefore more private and quiet).

New and clean, the Slalom Creek condos and Josie Hotel are steps away form the lift at Red Mountain. The office staff was friendly and helpful. They even loaned us a DVD player when the one in our unit would not work. Their hours are somewhat limited. No one was there when we had evening problems or when we left early in the morning. Condo units were roomier than most and no steps inside.

Ski right to your door

A group of us had 3 different condos in the Slalom Creek facility. Each condo had slightly different layout, but all 3 were equally well equipped for a short or long stay. They each had their own hot tub and a wonderfully stocked kitchen. TV and WiFi were included. Just so you’re not confused, it isn’t truly ski-in-ski-out. You have roughly a 100’ish yard walk to the slopes.

Pretty darn hard to beat.

The people are wonderful.  I made a same-day reservation and Julie (maybe Judy) was so helpful and nice!  My condo was very nice with a private hot tub on my deck and all the other amenities expected.  The bed was very comfortable and the bath was so nice including a steam bath in the shower.  There is a convenient ski locker on the main floor and a convenient parking garage.  I will stay here again!  One note:  if you plan to cook, you’ll need to come prepared.  The kitchen is nicely equipped but there are no supplies such as spices or oils, no salt & pepper.
