Stuck in the 1980s. Housekeeping cottage and you clean before you leave which is normal but I wonder if the cottage is ever professionally deep cleaned? Needs serious updating- caulk in bathroom is gross. Needs basic linens- like a bath mat. Hair dryer did not work and obviously dirty. 
Mattresses are extremely old , so are the linens which leaves me suspicious. No instructions to tv. I’ve stayed in better at the same price point so that’s sad.

Kitchen has everything you need. It’s a great location with a grocery store a mile away. Excellent location and the cottages sit in a huge piece of land that is pretty. Family friendly for sure!
 Very friendly staff but a bit of a language barrier. 

Manage your expectations 

We stayed for four nights on our first time in PEI. Blue Crest wasn't a "destination" in itself, but it was a great base for our travels. We had a 2 bedroom cottage. Some thoughts: 
- The owners are great hosts: very kind, friendly and passionate. Our door lock broke and was quickly repaired by the owner. 
-The location is perfect, close (but not too close) to Cavendish and all parts of PEI national park, and in the center of the island if you want to explore either the eastern or western shores.
-Don't believe other reviews that state you need to clean the cottage prior to check out. This is NOT the case. There is a sign on the inside of the cottage that indicates this, but this is from the prior owners and NO LONGER APPLIES. (Note to owners: remove the sign.)
-Cottages are comfortable; they could definitely use a renovation but I'm sure the owners are working on it. Lousy towels, and some smelled like they were sitting around too long without being freshened. Shower water temperature was hard to modulate; I hereby decree that all hotels need to eliminate the separate hot and cold water faucets for a single lever. Only one A/C unit, in the living room; it might be hard to cool off both bedrooms on a hot day. 
-Great pool, and especially, great hot tub; this is an amenity not found in many PEI properties.  


Friendly, Comfortable, Convenient

I drove out to Prince Edward Island this summer and rented this cabin by the sea. Words are hard to describe the feelings of rapture I experienced in the magical land known for its red sand beaches, fiddle music, home town potatoes, plentiful seafood and the kindest people anywhere in the world. 
   The Blue Crest cabins are centrally located in North Rustico, and features a hot tub, swimming pool, canoe for the inlet to the ocean and a bonfire pit for a cool evening drink or two. 
   Close to everything, shopping, restaurants, celideh’s and The Blue Mussel cafe, these cabins are perfect for a quiet getaway from mainland chaos. And if there is anything you need, just ask Rose and Daniel, the kind owners who run a very relaxed and tight ship. Thoroughly recommended stay on your east coast adventure. Just make sure you book long enough, as you’ll never want to leave!

A little slice of Heaven in our backyard.

Not a bad place to stay. It wasn’t far from anything and the cottage was clean and well kept. There was a hot tub and pool accessible but we didn’t use them. The wifi was only okay. The cottage had cookwear and dishes in the little kitchenette. The place is a bit dated. The bed though, was my biggest issue. Unless you really like a firm bed. My lower back is not happy after a few nights on that dinosaur. The area was quiet and the view was nice. 

Decent

My husband and I along with 2 other couples stayed here for a weekend in September. We arrived late in the evening on a Thursday around 9pm, the office usually closes at 8 but Daniel was very accommodating to our arrival. We stayed during what would be considered off season, the weather however was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!  so much so we asked to use the pool and hot tub even thought they were technically closed for the season at that point- Daniel gladly accommodated once again :)
The cottages are pet friendly and since we don't like to travel too often without our fur babies, it was a great feature to be able to bring them with us.
Accommodations were very clean and above our expectations.
W are already talking about going back for our family vacation next year!

Basic cottage with all the necessary amenities, the internet was hit and miss but mostly usable. Bed was comfy, kitchen had all the necessary pots and pans and dishes. Small old 19in TV set from the last century, but it still works. Ours was a single bed unit so it is a duplex, so there's no privacy from your neighbour. However all in all, it was an okay stay. Nice view, well cared for grounds. There is a hot tub and pool but we did not use them. Laundry also available.

The cottages are designed for 4 people and have plenty of space. You have a small kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a seating area with couch, a bathroom with shower/bathtub, a terrace with great views and a dining table for 4 people. We didn't use the pool, which all the cottages share. The Wi-Fi went smoothly with us. The location is great. You're right on the coast and very fast at many small restaurants. Very highly recommended.

Super cottages

We absolutely LOVED this place. I've seen some of the other reviews here, which give poor ratings, but honestly, that wasn't our experience at all so I'm not sure what's going on there. We rented Cottage B, it had two good sized bedrooms (one King size bed in one room, the other room has two doubles or twins, I can't usually tell the difference), a large living/dining room with a pull-out couch, a good sized kitchen with stove/oven/large refrigerator/freezer, and a private toilet and shower and sink. The view is AMAZING, you have a large porch with comfy, cool chairs and a little table so you can sit outside and sip tea/hot chocolate/coffee and watch the ocean. 

There's a TV with cable inside, and a pull-out couch, so there are four beds in Cottage B  The cottages all have rustic wood paneling, giving the place a warm, cozy feeling. There's a large table with four chairs, and you can eat your meals in front of the window taking in the view. The beach is a two minute walk just across the small access road. The grounds have a large grassy area for kids to play on and there's a little jungle-gym type thing for them as well - there's also a basketball hoop. I honestly don't remember anything about a pool, however, I wasn't interested in a pool, I went to the beach, so I didn't inquire or pay attention. 

One person mentions having to clean their own cottage ---- WHAT? This is not true, you don't have to clean your own place and there is no charge if you don't - they have housekeeping. I believe there is something about the possibility of being charged a damage fee, if the place is damaged, so perhaps that was the confusion??? At any rate, I only cleaned up after myself in the polite way, I didn't houseclean, and I certainly wasn't charge a fee. 

The cottage was in perfect condition. There is also an A/C. The staff/owners were all perfectly lovely and very helpful. I stayed here with my teenage son and he loved it as much as I did. We will most definitely be staying here again. =)  - Brandy
