The Pine Grove Motel was everything we needed it to be: spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, priced right AND you can tell immediately on pulling into the driveway that the lovely gentle man owner/operator cares. In one word ‘refreshing’ and it revived us from having a road weary meltdown😆. 

A MUST stop for road weary travellers

Excellent pet friendly motel. Clean rooms, reasonably priced and friendly check in with good recommendations for a place to eat. Easy access to motel (en route) as we were travelling east AKA good location. Green space out front and behind motel for walking g your dog. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice and clean pet friendly motel

Found this gem on Trip advisor rated 8 and 9 out of 10. Traveling with wife and 30yr old son on way home to IL from PEI. Family owned motel on edge of town, Service desk was run by owner, very personable, rooms very clean, no bad smells, comfortable beds , reasonable priced at peak season of $175 Canadian. Only negative , no coffee maker

This motel is a gem.  It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet.   The owners were extremely friendly and helpful.   The price was right.  It was perfect for an overnight stay as we travelled through.   I would definitely stay here again.

This motel is a gem!

Stay 4 nights and it was just OK room . Owner was super friendly and nice until he went by us outside one day . It was a Saturday  and I went outside to smoke one. He was all friendly walking up as usual until he smelt weed. Then he gave me a look and his attitude totally changed but he didn't say a word. Soon as we left he went into the room even though we said told him we didn't need service during our stay. Still not a word said. Then a month later I get a fee  and when I called him he lied and said we smoked in the room.  If  I'm not allowed to smoke outside then why have ashtrays outside the room or say something.  I would of been OK with not smoking there just don't put hate on me and charge me after the fact and lie  about me smoking in the room so I don't come back.

Absolute trash of an experience. 

Booked this Motel on Friday with a discounted rate offered to me. As I was driving from Ajax, ON to Sault Ste Marie, at 1:30pm (1.5 hours before check in) I received an email saying my reservation was cancelled. I called the Motel immediately and spoke with Allen, who was incredibly rude. Here is how the lovely conversation went... 

I told Allen I got an email saying my reservation was just cancelled. He told me it was cancelled last night (which was a lie) because the Motel did not approve of the discount that Expedia was offering (I did not even book through Expedia). I asked what the price of staying the night was if I rebooked through him, he gave me a price that was only a $7.00 difference from the rate that I paid, and told me that has to come out of his pocket and he has given Expedia too much money already. I told him that really isn't my problem, and asked why they just cancelled my booking and did not bother to call and rebook me in. I told him how unacceptable it was to cancel someones booking 1.5 hours before check in and leave them stranded. He replied (and I quote) "You know what? You can go call somebody else, because I don't have time for this." and then he hung up. YEP. Hung up on a customer willing to literally re-book a room with their Motel. 

I tried to call back to speak to someone else (the owner specifically) and they would not pick up my calls. I went into the Motel once I got into Sault Ste. Marie, got his name, reamed him out for his unprofessional manner and left. 

Will never try to book their again. 

Trash Customer Service Experience

The Pine Grove Motel is an older motel with a difference.  Our room was freshly painted, immaculately clean  and nicely colour coordinated.  The mattress was comfortable, we slept 10 hours.  The bathroom was also spotless.  All at a reasonable price.

A great choice 

I had to cancel this trip due to COVID19 and did not stay here but they still charged me despite having a policy this should not happen. I would not trust this establishment with my credit card and would not stay with them again.

Wrongfully charged

This is an old style motel. The gentleman at the front desk was very polite and friendly.  The units all have new doors and entryways.  Inside it is clean and retro with new flooring, new heaters and AC, new washrooms, new TV, new lamps and a little new retro fridge.  It is a small room. It is quaint clean and quiet!  5 Stars from me.

Room was freezing 
Floor was frozen all night
They stole my deposit because the cable boxes looked as if it was moved……
That doesn’t even make sense.  
I moved the kettle too does that mean you can charge me extra $100?
Biggest SCAMMERS I have ever met!
Do not stay here. Read other reviews!  They literally steel money from everyone!  
I hope everyone who has had a similar experience please right more reviews.  Let’s shut these criminals down.
I will be going after them in court
