Been out to SilverStar a couple of times now.  Silver Creek Lodge is a condo building with some resident owners and other owners have their units in the rental pool.  With it being a condo, each room has different decor, amenities and style/paint colours.  

Stayed in unit 351 and it was Perfect.  

There are 3 type of units in the building - ,1 Bdrm, with Bunk Alcove, 2Bath (Corner Units and like a 2 bedroom), Studio with Bunk Alcove/1 Bath, 1 Bdrm with Bunk Alcove/1 Bath, The 1Bdrm with Alcove with 1 or 2 baths are more like 2 bedroom units and are great for families.  We were went with a group of friends and had all 3 room types last trip so it was easy to compare them.  The Corner Units are quite a bit larger than the others and well worth it - (get the corner unit with mountain view) and each of the unit types had a gas fireplace.  We used large Corner Unit 351 as the gathering area for the group for meals, cocktails, etc. as it was nicely updated and the most spacious of them all, with mountain and slope side views.  The kitchens are compact, but fully functional and equipped with everything you'd need for your stay.  Bathrooms were all your standard 4 piece.  

Silver Creek Lodge is about 25 meters up the hill from the main village and has awesome ski in/ski out and no 'boot walking' to start or end your days.  It's great as the main village is right there for restaurants, bars and shops, but you don't get the noise from the main area. It has nice roof top hot tubs as well was great for unwinding and preparing for the next day on the slopes.

Best Ski-In/Ski Out - Ask for a Corner Unit.

Great village with authentic mountain town feel. Great food at Paradise Camp and lots of skiing done with minimal lines. Groomers very well manicured. Tubing included with ski ticket which is a nice bonus.

Such a cool village

Booked to stay in a room with kitchen and separate bedroom. Got a room on the 3rd floor at the back of the building (so no views). 

Bedroom comfortable and lots of storage. 

Lounge good with TV and WiFi free. 

Kitchen had a full sized fridge/freezer, filter coffee machine, and full sized oven with 4 ring cooktop. Unfortunately, couldn’t cook without the fire sensors going off. Open the oven to check on your salmon - alarm. Cook on the stovetop at >5/10 on the control - alarm. Even with the extractor on full, back ring, balcony door and windows open (-15 degrees C!), still could not avoid. Was nerve racking. Needs real attention as hopeless otherwise. 

Ordered food from Butcher Boys in Vernon online. They wanted payment authority by fax! WTF. Called them and worked around it over the phone for credit card payment. Ribeye was out of this world! Expensive but at $10 delivery from town, definitely worth considering. 

Coronavirus saw the entire field shut today for the next week - expect that to continue. We’re off home today anyway so just lucky. 

Would recommend the lodge for ski in/out. Straight out the door to the gondola access to top of the mountain. Excellently situated. Locker on ground floor for your skis. Hot tubs to share on the roof (open air). Friendly reception staff. 

Summary - get a room that you can cook in without freaking out as to the sensors and you have a great ski venue for your holiday.

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay at SliverCreek Lodge. Short walk up hill from the village. Handy to everything. We had nice view, but maybe would request high floor next time. Room as warm and cosy. Fully equiped kitchen and had local coffee to use with the coffee machine - nice bonus we thought! 2 Spa pools on the roof, which were great and offered good views from a viewing point. Cant wait to return, we had a  wonderful time!

Ski in Ski out...

Stayed here while enjoying a great weeks skiing on the slopes at Silver Star.  We found the Silver Creek Lodge to have both good points and a couple of negatives.

Lets start with the good.  The reception staff were always helpful and able to give ideas on places to eat, things that are going on, and even suggest ski runs to try out.  On the ground floor is a gear room where you can store you equipment in combination locked cupboards assigned to your room (though as one reviewer suggested it may be easier to bring your own lock to save having to recall the combination on the provided one).  There is a small gym also on this floor if you feel the snow sports are not meeting your exercise needs.  On the top floor are some hot pools to unwind at the end of the day.  And on a more boring note, there is a self serve laundry (washers and driers) to keep your clothes smelling nice.

The accommodation is located up the hill behind the "main street" of Silver Star, and it is a short walk (a couple of minutes) down to said main street.  Just be careful as the walkway can be a bit slippery first thing in the morning.  You are able to walk out the door, ski or board down to the gondolier and at the end of the day take one of the blue runs which pass close by the hotel (Milky's Way was my choice).  You can get down via a green run but you end up in the main street then have to carry your gear the short distance back up to the hotel.   

The room was open planned and generously sized with a small kitchen, lounge and dining area, and a double bed with a couple of bunks next to it.  The room was super warm and a bit dry, so keep a bottle of water next to the bed as I often woke up needing a drink.  

But it is this room that is my negative, and also where it becomes tricky.  The majority of the rooms are owned by different people whom then can rent them out during the year.  This means that the condition of the room will vary from room to room.  In our case, the room was a bit tired.  The Venetian blinds well were past their use by date, the carpet was worn and threadbare in some spots, and the bathroom had a large crack in the tiled floor.  Your room could be different, but I can only go on our experience and I felt it needed a spruce up.

So would I stay there again?  Perhaps.  I would look around at other options and weigh them up first.

A bit of a mixed bag

We really enjoyed our stay at Silver Star ski resort in BC Canada. Silver creek lodge was cosy, great views, ski in and out, and easy to walk everywhere in the village. Staff responsive to our requests. Bring a combination lock for secure ski storage as I never was able to unlock our locker every time.

Great skiing in and out accommodation

As much as I want to say that my friends and I had an good trip, this was actually such a frustrating experience. Silver star itself had great snow to ski/board on; however, the Silver Star Resort hotels tainted our experience beyond comprehension. After we checked out, without any warning, the Silver Creek Lodge charged us with room damage for $700. The accommodations manager at Angeline had a terrible, unhelpful attitude when we consulted the hotel. Not only was she in any way not willing to help us sort through the issue, she pushed all the responsibility onto the other manager in the hotel, and basically denied anything we said with a flat, almost hostile, attitude.
We were pretty responsible guests; we even let the dish washing machine run when we checked out, and made sure all the garbage was cleaned up. It was a really disappointing experience and makes me never want to visit Silver Star again. If I could, I would give 0 star reviews, but I can't. 
Aside from this, they say that the room can fit up to six people, but the sofa bed is barely sleepable. All the people who laid on the sofa bed had terrible neck and back pains the next day. Imagine a seven hour drive back to Vancouver with pain like that. 
I'd highly recommend find somewhere else if you want to have a good time, and not feel like prisoners in jail waiting to be accused by staff.

Frustrating, Terrible Experience with Staff (Wish I could give 0 stars)

spacious apartment and perfect location

We spent two nights here over Valentines Day. Our condo was clean, cute and cozy. It had two bunk beds, and a queen size bed. The wifi worked well .  The room had a little kitchen with everything that we needed to self cater. There is free parking in the garage and if that is full there is free outdoor parking as well. There is a small fitness center and ski lockers on the first floor. Our room was quite loud, the people upstairs sounded like elephants running back and forth. Also our room didn’t have a do not disturb sign . We asked for one and were told that housekeeping would bring one which never happened. Staff were nice enough and the location is perfect.
