We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Kennedy House last night - December 31st - in St. Andrews, NB.  The five of us each chose the special menu and we were not disappointed in the least.  Everything was very pleasingly presented and bursting full of flavour.  We all started with the shirmp cocktail.  Yummy and lots.  Then we had the cream of zucchini soup with smoked salmon.  More flavours than you would think possible.  Two of our group had the surf and turf main - excellent steak prepared exactly right and a lobster tail.  The other three had the duck breast - juicy, flavourful.  We all had the creme brule for dessert - perfect!  This was accompanied by a glass of champagne to begin and two glasses of our choice of wine during the meal.  Of course, we added a few more glasses of wine and three glasses of Baileys.  Absolutely great!  We had a fantastic meal and great fun.  We were the last to leave.  Looking forward to doing it again December 31, 2024. 

Yummy NY Eve Dinner

My husband and I absolutely loved your establishment!  Mo, the bartender/server was incredibly welcoming, kind, helpful, and answered all of our questions.  The woman who greeted us and took care of us at the front desk was just as kind and helpful.  The room was clean, quiet, and proved to be such a nice getaway for us.  We hope to come back with friends or family in the future.  After a long day, we sat near the bar and had a couple of cocktails and dinner.  We then played darts and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.  Everyone was so friendly!

Quick Getaway

We stayed in this beautiful historic building in St Andrews, very nice welcome, a little outdated but very charming setting, the rooms are beautiful sizes, very clean, free WiFi and parking, only the shower bemool, the water is very difficult to adjust we also regretted the lack of breakfast thank you team for your smile and kindness

Charm in the Heart of St Andrews

We enjoyed the Kennedy House.  The room was spacious (although the carpet is a bit dated and blackout curtains would have been nice); well equipped with a microwave, fridge, and ironing board; and the beds were very comfortable.  It think it was pricy for what it was, but probably on par for this cute town popular with tourists.  It is certainly in a great location!  It is in the center of the main street, so it's walking distance to lots of restaurants, cute shops, and activities.  The whale watch we took was a two-minute walk from our room, which was nice.  Overall, this is a solid lodging option here. 

A Solid Option

We did not stay there but ate at the restaurant. Excellent meal with very good quality food at a very reasonable price. Try the Fituchinis from the seafood. A delight and the super tender lobster what surprised me I find it always hard it was not the case. Maurice the very kind server.

The restaurant's really great.

I really wanted to love this hotel. However, there were a few things lacking. 

We arrived before 2 so we waited patiently for our 2pm reservation. At 230 we were told that our room wasn't ready yet. So we waited longer..  several other guests had come in and got their hotel rooms no problem. 3pm rolls around and we finally get our room. 

It wasn't anything special. Looked like a dorm room. 

There was one guy managing the restaurant and hotel. Due to this, the customer service was lacking. 

Almost felt like you were annoying him if you had questions or even just to check in. 

Ate at the restaurant. It was ok, nothing special. Again felt like you were an annoyance.

Bed was comfy and rooms were clean.

Meh.... but bed is comfy!

This is a beautiful old hotel with plenty of charm. Its location is perfect for enjoying this beautiful town. We feel that the carpeting throughout is becoming shabby and unclean. Our room was very quaint and clean and again it could use a little freshening up. The shower was almost impossible to use without scalding yourself as the controls were very hard to use. No hairdryer was supplied .  The service at the front desk was very friendly. With a little extra attention this property would be great.

Historical gem with a great location

Heard the music out on the street as we walked by and had to stop in for a drink. Great local crowd having fun and enjoying the music...which was awesome! Lovely woman behind the bar who was attentive to all.

Great old school, main street pub

Located in a historic hotel (over 100 years old) dinner is served early so make sure to arrive before 7pm on a terrace over looking the main road. The food was delicious and the service was great. Lots of interesting options to choose from. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent dinner

Unfortunately, the mattress was too soft for our taste, which prevented us from sleeping well. Moreover, the temperature of the shower was almost impossible to adjust. But we will remember the beautiful setting and the beautiful welcome (we arrived early and they hurried to prepare our room). The restaurant offers good prices. The fish was not exceptional. The lobster warmth is excellent, but the dish is small.
