First the good…friendly staff, very clean (though furniture is “tired”), and nice location. 
The bad….The heating system is a joke. Rooms are very cold regardless of what temp the heat is set to and the fans sound like an 18-wheeler is idling in the room.  And it wasn’t just our room; another room was the same.  Also, the hallways smell of smoke and with a 1 inch gap under the hotel room door, that smell (and sound too) gets in your room.  

Overall just okay but wouldn’t repeat.

We decided to head up to Stratford to spend a night for our 39th anniversary at Fosters Inn with the “Hike and stay” package. The room while not ‘fancy’ was large, very clean, quiet and very comfortable. The main reason for us to stay here is the absolutely fantastic restaurant . We enjoyed 2 tenderloin steak dinners that were fabulous! Perfect medium cooked. Attentive service by our waiter. In the morning we enjoyed an excellent breakfast, eggs benny with Black Forest ham and a superb ham & cheese omelette. Second time we have eaten here and both times have been perfect. Highly recommend this place for any occasion.

Not a good stay 
The mattresses were very bad–obviously very old and it was very hard to sleep on them.  I had a very poor night sleep

The rooms were not in any way luxuorious

The room was extremely noisy especially in the morning.

The refrigerator was leaky and also made a noise

a very nice, friendly inn located a half block from Avon Theater downtown near numerous restaurants . super clean and comfortable. great breakfast choices are a la carte but the room prices are reasonable. I would definitely stay there again.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were looking for a new place to eat. Fosters Inn did not disappoint.  The atmosphere was warm and inviting and very clean.  The service was a bit slow but, we didn't mind. Our calamari appetizer was hot and crispy. My husband had the fried chicken and commented that 'it was the best he ever had'.  My salmon was very good and had a wonderful selection of sauteed veggies.  We would definitely go back and try the steak and other items on the menu, as everything that was coming out of the kitchen looked great.  They also have a patio out front which looked very inviting.  A great location for theatre goers as well.

Date night was a great night!

We picked this location because it was close to the Studio Theater and it looked unique compared to the usual accommodations.  It was and we really enjoyed our stay! The building is old, there will be creaky floors and a bit of an echo, but it didn't hinder our sleep. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be true for you.  The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked well and I loved the big windows that overlooked the main street.  The only thing I would change would be a bathroom update. I'd love to see a simple tile shower instead of the plastic insert and cute little vanity to match the feel of the hotel and room. Bathroom was clean, but really blah.  Parking is free, but it's a block away.  If you have heavy luggage I'd try to snag a spot out front to check in and unload before parking.  Staff always gave a hello and asked if we needed anything.  We'd stay here again.

Great Location ~ Great Nights Sleep

My family and I reserved a room at Foster’s for the night as we’ve become accustomed to their warm, friendly service. 
On the way from Toronto, we realized that we didn’t have a dinner reservation and it was the Saturday of the long weekend!  Bad news. 
We called Foster’s and spoke to Kate who kindly told us we could try for seats at the bar. Around 6pm, we were just settling in to those very bar seats when Terri let us know they’d found a lovely table for us. 
From this cozy vantage point, we watched countless people walk in and try to get a table. After the bar was filled, they were turned away. 
Thank you Terri for going out of your way to make sure this family of 4 had a comfortable and enjoyable dinner! 
Well fed, we went on to Billy Elliot (an amazing production) and a good night sleep. Thanks Foster’s! 

Terri went above and beyond! 

Stayed for our anniversary weekend and loved the charm, friendly staff and great ambiance. The staff were incredibly helpful and really got got to know us and the other guests. The room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. It was our first visit - definitely not our last!

Quaint, Comfortable and Friendly

We stayed at Foster’s Inn for one night and it was great! Check-in was a breeze. Everyone who works there was pleasant and helpful. We were in room 204. It was very spacious and clean with comfortable beds and lovely decor. The bar fridge was very convenient. 
We had breakfast at the restaurant and I wholly recommended the Huevos Rancheros. You will want to finish it, although it is a huge portion. Soooo goood!  I’ve always enjoyed the restaurant so just go, you won’t be disappointed!
Parking is at the cooper lot, but it is very safe so no need to worry. We will stay again!

We had the pleasure of spending a night at the Foster's Inn
Big room located right in the middle of the old city center, local to great restaurants and the charm of the shops.
Excellent and the service checking in was seamless , you pick up the keys at the Inn/Pub  
Parking is a wee bit of a challenge but it is a part of the adventure.
Great place and super nice people. Great place for a couples night out or weekend
