I wanted to run as soon as I arrived. No wonder there is no manager or anyone on site; I would be embarrassed to rent this "hell hole" to anyone! The owners are hiding for a reason.debris; old lumber and rocks ; dirt everywhere; this place is an eyesore but they hide it well on the photos $202 !!; I'm being honest people. I would recommend you try " Big Tub resort" or "Bruce Anchor " motel .this place is horrible! Tiny rooms, no coffee ; it's extremely dark at night so you can't see a thing outside the doors .Be careful because the steps have nails sticking out .wifi is almost non existent.the bathrooms are tiny and gross ; I discovered little insects all over the sink and counter; mold on bathtub walls; the shower knob fell off in my hand ; the view is ok ; you have a balcony with views to run down cabins that are about 150 years old.the area around this dump ; is dirt; rocks and old wood pieces.you can barely see the lake beyond the rubble and dirt. THE beds are tiny ; supposed to be queen beds but they are twin size.No COFFEE! No barbecue,nothing.other reviews are correct.RUN! This place is unsafe! Far away from  the very few stores ; restaurants as well.it sucks! For $202 !!I got ripped off! Please don't bother.Im  trying to save others from this horrible nightmare and disappointment. 100% honest .

This place is a horror show! Disgusting example of slum-lord owners trying to pass off a lousy run down and torn apart property to unsuspecting tourists looking for a place to stay. The whole gong show of texting you a lock box code is a huge joke, once you can finally reach anyone, they blame all of the problems on their head office. This is an un-manned site, completely torn apart and under construction. STAY AWAY!!!

My husband and I spent a few nights in this motel! It was perfect from all points of view! The breathtaking view of the lake, the new owner who lovingly renovated this place was very welcoming and pleasing! Comfort, cleanliness and calm! I highly recommend this place! Above all forget the old comments from 2020, the current owner is the new owner of the place.

I honestly don't understand the bad reviews.  Yes the place is under renovations which is made clear on their website. The unlucky new owners bought just before covid so are gradually working through the renovations,   Granted it looks a bit intimidating when you drive up. There is no front desk but a lockbox system where the numbered locks are located directly by the side entrance door.  If you come during the day, there is a very helpful manager , Hassan, you can call if you have problems.  The rooms that are available are in a newly renovated wing.  New fresh carpets, new renovated rooms with comfy beds, a nice sized fridge and microwave and new flatscreen TV. Bathrooms not renovated, but repainted.  Unlike other reviews, our toilet and shower worked perfectly.  Best of all,  some rooms (I think 5) have a balcony with waterfront view to bay across from the Chi Chi Maun ferry dock.  I think  the other "basic" rooms have partial waterview.  Across the street where they have  cottages (not for rent currently) , the property has  water access but not really a beach (we put watershoes on and swam from there anyway). Would be ideal though if you wanted to enter by paddle board or kayak.  It is about a 15 minute walk to town or 10 minutes to the entrance of the Bruce park visitor center. Also you can walk 10 minutes to the dive/snorkel site "the tugs". Overall, if you are willing to overlook the renovations and being a bit out of main town, this is a perfectly good option in tobermory especially in high season when rooms are hard to come by and at an expensive premium.  Book directly on website and use the promo code for 20% discount.

Nice newly renovated rooms with waterfront view for a great price

Very confusing check in and out procedure.  Anonymous texts with little details. Difficulty with showers.  Ok cleanliness. Very noisy and not sound-proof halls at all. Would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car.

Pretty bad!!!

Booked a room here and as it turns out, it's an absolute scam. It's rare that I'll book a room before "checking it out on trip advisor", however seeing as there were very few rooms available in town as it is high season I suppose. After I booked I then decide to check them out on TripAdvisor and boy-oh-boy. I will NEVER do this again. 

Needless to say, the room was booked and of course they took full payment when I booked the room. Two days ago I got a message about their covid protocols. Then earlier today I got a text about a lock box. All things that other reviewers talked about. So...I'm not too concerned at this point. They seem legit....I'm getting some communication from them.

Now, we drive here from Pearson Airport...so a 3+hr drive and find the place. Looks deserted and abandoned actually...getting a little worried now. I end up finding the lock boxes around the side of the building hanging on a bathroom grab handle. My box...47....is open and empty. Great!?!?

I text them back....no response. I call the number on my booking...no answer, just an answering machine. I call the number posted on the door to the "office"...no answer, just another answering machine. We go for dinner...hoping they're just busy and will get back to us. At dinner we ask a local about this dump??? She raised an eyebrow....enough said.

DON'T GET SCAMMED LIKE US!!! DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. 

We are now back on the highway...driving an hour back south to stay at one of the only rooms available in the area.

This resort should not be providing accommodations at this point.  It might have been a great place many years ago, but it is presently a construction site. Our room was bare, and the shower did not work. The bedsheets looked cheap and came off the bed very easily. The location is good as everything is within walking distance. If someone invests a lot of money and fixes this place up, it might be a great location in the future, but presently it is pretty bad.

Not great ...

This place should not be booking rooms right now - it is essentially shut down.  We waited three hours for a room that in the end was never available.  I cannot begin to explain the incoherent conversation we had with the 'manager' (the only person around.)  After leaving and returning for a third time to find our room (which we had no key to yet, but were able to just walk into anyway) completely uncleaned and unusable.  Other guests who arrived at the same time as us ended up threatening to the call the police over their interaction with him. They and us were both able to find somewhere else to stay at the last minute fortunately as this location was completely unfit to stay in.

Do not book here under any circumstances (Sept 2020)

A friend and I gave this place a shot but we were let down.  Only positive is location as the view is pleasant if your facing the water.  Our room wasn't ready for 3 hours and even then we helped make the bed and it wasn't vacuumed.  No towels provided and when we approached Hassan he gave us wet towels from the room beside ours.  He entered our room with his key unannounced at 930 am on the 2nd day of our stay.  I went to pull a towel off the rack above the toliet and the whole metal unit fell off the wall hitting me because it wasn't properly anchored into the stud. I wanted to give this place a shot but should have listened to previous reviews

Gave it a shot but don't waste your money

This is a pathetic place to plan your vacation for staying in Tobermory.
This place has no management and without a property manager, A guy (Hassan) who claims himself a property manager talks nonsense. His behaviour is worst and he has no professional ethics. He misbehaves with the guest gives them hard time during their stay. He even swear the management of property and when you ask him about the basic needs or supplies. He said this is how this place is..if you Cant take it you can leave the property. (How would you leave the property when you have already being charged for your stay?)
Rooms were dirty, full of mess.There was not even a single sign of house keeping.
Tobermory inn suites and cottages is a total SCAM!! 
This place has got so many negative reviews on google and other booking sites but i don't know why the management has not change the manager or not taking any action against him?
If you don't  want to ruin your holidays..
Please please please.. don't waste your hard earned money and time by investing on them .
