I booked a stay and cancelled it 6 days before planned arrival. A month later I was charged the full amount. 3 emails to the property were ignored. A call to the property provided a pleasant conversation and an email address for the manager. That email was also ignored. Booking.com representative was treated the same way. If you book, you will be charged even if you cancelled and then ignored as you try to resolve the issue.

They are terrible in communications

We loved our stay! Our room was spacious and clean and we were happy we could bring our dog. Both mornings we enjoyed the hot breakfast which included generous amounts of scrambled eggs and bacon (enough that we could save slices for our dog too!). The employees were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

A wonderful find!

Quaint but no frills.  Clean for its age, hot water with good pressure.  Quiet.  Looks like thrift store decor which is fine but the musty cabin smell kept me awake.  Slept with head under the sheets although it didn’t bother my husband. You get what you pay for.

Old B&B so do not expect top-rated accommodations. Prices  are low so that  makes this an overnight nice adventure. Queen beds only - no Kings. Breakfast was not "to order" but did consist of scrambled eggs, 6 slices of thin crispy bacon, toast, fruit and coffee. Nice staff but they did not explain the morning dinning process. Took a while to figure it out. Did not get a restful sleep because of temperature/fan/light inconsistencies. 

Some Good Aspects...Some not so good. Think of it as an "Adventure". 

On a Monday night before peak season, Yarmouth hotels and inns were running out of rooms due to the wildfires occurring nearby in Barrington. You could smell and see the smoke from the fires. The highway was closed and people were in a panic. I was lucky to get a room in the hotel's B&B portion but was told that it 'wasn't ready' -- it hadn't been prepped for the season. There were no drapes, no toilet paper, no tissue. I took it anyway because I didn't want to sleep in my car on the road. I got two rolls of toilet paper and a few sheets of paper towels because they had run out of tissues. The bathroom was in dire need of updating, and the double bed wasn't very comfortable. The hotel allows dogs, and in the early morning (5:30 a.m.) some dogs were on the 'pee pad' in the outdoor area beneath my room and barking their little heads off. (I feel bad for the neighbors who have to put up with that all summer). The continental breakfast was terrible. The room was expensive for what it was (especially for not 'being ready') -- the prices were probably spiked because people were desperate for a room, who knows. The Asian guy behind the counter who had arrived the week before from Thailand was still in training and in a frenzy because he was overwhelmed.  It's not a place I would stay in again, even in normal times. However, I didn't have to go through what those poor people who were evacuated or couldn't get home had to go through.

Stay far away from this place as you can. And stay away from its sister motel New Age Inn (Voyageur) as they both are under the same crooked management. I checked in for 5 days at Lakelawn and paid for all 5 days in advance. After my second night, they called the police on me for no reason and evicted me without telling me why and they wouldn't refund my money for the 3 nights I didn't get to use. I know what you're thinking: He must have done something wrong. I am telling you, I did nothing wrong. I was a quiet guest and I didn't break their rules nor the law in any way whatsoever. I was just sitting outside minding my own business and the police just showed up at my room and told me they got a (vague) complaint from the management. I was able to finally contact the manager after 2 weeks and she offered no explanation as to why I was evicted or why they stole my money. What you'll get at the Lakelawn is a 20' x 12' filthy room with a 32" TV, no toilet paper. The heat doesn't work. The water pressure is weak. The staff is crooked. Find another place to stay, trust me.

This place is terrible they double-billed me for a one night stay. I called & sent a copy of my VISA statement and was told they would contact their bookkeeper. Now I am being ghosted.
Also, it is across the street from a 24-hr gas station. I was awoken at 3AM when their dumpster was being emptied.

Staying at this hybrid B&B and motel was taking a trip back in time to a kinder, more gentle place with genuinely warm and friendly people. This quaint and cozy motel is very clean and impeccably maintained. Rooms are decorated in simple and plain furnishings. Do not confuse the four and five ratings Lakelawn receives with those ratings given to large, sterile luxury resorts. This is not that kind of place. This is about an ambiance and feeling you get knowing that the staff truly appreciate your business. A place where you feel more like family than just a guest.

Like Going Back in Time

Eclectic little B&B conveniently located near the CAT Ferry.  Cutest room in the main house and a fabulous hot breakfast cooked to order. The people working there were all so wonderfully accommodating and kind. The grounds were beautiful and the room was very clean!

Very friendly staff.  Hot breakfast was good and muffins, yoghurt...

Website said coffee maker and mini fridge - did not have either. Pricy for what we got.
Need to replace blinds in upper front bedroom. Unable to block street light right in front .
