Nice people, spacious room, medium-sized dining room, near the school canteen, reasonable cleanliness, a small, always crowded pool, direct access to the sea, in a secure area where you can swim comfortably in clear, warm water, a 20-minute walk to the centre of the Old Town, where you can find plenty of restaurants and bars. It's a shame the difficulty of returning at night: only on foot... the taxi comes from the beach.

Medium hotel, reasonable for 2 days visiting the Old Town

Hotel walking in the water, beautiful view, very nice and kind staff. The hotel is very clean it is a place that I recommend +++ I will return with pleasure. Liliane at the reception is exceptionally kind. The hotel shuttle allows you to go to Praia, and the driver despite the language barrier is very kind. Note that the staff does not speak Portuguese or English the staff does their best it is really top.

Very nice hotel.

The Vulcao is 20 minutes from the nearest place and is probably experiencing better times already. The rooms are ok, but the rest of the hotel makes a very decayed impression. All the pool rooms were defective or torn apart. The dining room had the charm of a former train station hall. The breakfast was poor.

Not recommended

The hotel is located outside of Ciudad Velha, in the vicinity there is no infrastructure. In the area it is about 2 km. After 2 weeks on different islands of the Cape Verde, we spent a night with a travel group in this hotel. The rooms on the sea side are large, but the facilities seem dark. The bed is hard like a board. The shower in the bathroom is disgusting. Overall, the whole facility is not inviting and has a massive maintenance lag. At dinner you are tied to the hotel. The food was fine, but only buffet was offered. Orders are partly overloaded by the staff. It is hardly spoken in English. The pool makes a flawed impression that the beds are praiseworthy. I would not go to the hotel in the case of Escondido Velha.

Not a good choice

It is a waste to see a huge tourist complex with very large rooms and underutilized spaces. It is often said that the Caboverdian is a people of morality and, indeed, welcoming. Unfortunately in this hotel, such an experience does not subscribe to this saying. Very weak and pathetic customer service... characterized by a lack of valence in interpersonal relationships. Arrogance, lack of empathy from the allied management of unfaithful and unprepared employees result in a poor service. Not to mention the food and hygiene in which the score is roundly negative. It was not a good experience and, frankly, I would not advise my friends.

Poor stay

Great Stay, clean and spacious room, with comfy Beds, quality linens, spacious bathroom with large shower, large balcony overlooking the ocean, Friendly and helpful staff. I would certainly stay here again.

Nice Hotel, in a Beautiful location, 

After our boat arrived in Praia a day later, we were accommodated in this house. The reception was already chaos pure, the rooms dark, the bathroom cruel, everything completely deserted. The bed was hard like concrete. The dinner became a test of patience. We were a group of 12 people, so the gentlemen were totally overwhelmed. I waited for my meal for over two hours, three times in the time what I ordered was asked. After over two hours something else was delivered. Then the billing was similarly chaotic. The next morning breakfast was fine, though.

Total chaos

This hotel is huge its a big complex.
Swimming pool direct at the sea.
But far away from everything, in the evening you will not go out for a walk. The historic centre is 25 minutes from the hotel.
The dinner is good but the breakfast is terrible.
The excursions the hotel offers is too expensive. Better to organize by your self

Lonely

The hotel has many facilities (swimming pool, gym, wifi) and direct access to the sea. The reception is just fine. We were staying in a large family room in a part where we felt like we were the only guests. We had a hot water problem that didn't work in the room. The problem was solved by lending us the keys to another room located 100 metres away to take a shower. Not very convenient and a bit damaged by the standing demand of this hotel and the fee.

Modern but slowly turning hotel

The facilities are new and huge, located right by the ocean, but away from everything else. You'll need a car to get there and move around. Rooms are big, with separate bathroom. Lukewarm water, but I didn't mind it because it was super hot. A/C in the room is weak, but it helps. Good food for breakfast and supper. Everything cooked on the spot, although service was very slow. Nice staff.
