The resorts comprised an orchard, a main building and an annexe, some sports amenities (basketball court).
Our rooms were in the 'Villadom near the green grass' annexe. 
It took the reception 39 mins to register me (Singaporeans don't require visa but they were confused by the expired India n Russia visits visas in my passport)
The door passes to all our 3 rooms didn't work, they had to give us keys. It was about 3pm when we checked in and one of our rooms was not ready.
Breakfast buffet ended at 9am, surprising, this being a resort and it was a Saturday am. We raced to the main building just 5 mins to  9am, the staff had started clearing the the buffet. Also, they don't serve coffee.
The best thing about the place is the orchard of 
pears, peach, Apple and cherry trees and all sorts of vegetables.

Not ready for international tourists

I stayed at this hotel for a week, on business trips, a mid-sized room with a view of the industry, new furniture and plumbing, cleaned every day, changed clothes every two days, the staff speaks English quite nicely, near the subway.

It's a good hotel!

Shidu is a beautiful place.  We visited in early December, which is slow season.  The views were still breathtaking, although there are much fewer activities.  This was the last stop for us during our stay in China, and we were content to relax around the hotel.  The hotel was quite nice, and everything worked well. The rooms were clean and well heated.  The indifference shown by the majority of the staff really made the stay unpleasant, though.  It felt like this was their slow season, and they were just trying to squeeze every penny out of us.  

We called several days early to book, and were told they had only rooms with single beds and they quoted us an extremely high price.  We looked online at ctrip, and booked rooms with large beds for nearly half the price they quoted us.  When we arrived at the hotel, there was an advertisement for an even lower price, which was all inclusive for the spa amenities, so we asked about that.  The receptionist told us we should have called to book for that rate (which of course we did, but were not offered the low rate or then included ameneties).  We were given vouchers for breakfast for our two mornings there when we checked in. We ate breakfast both mornings, and it was very good, the best hotel breakfast I ate while in China.  During check out, however, they told us that it was a mistake and that we now had to pay for the breakfast.  We refused, and they took it out of our deposit.  Luckily, because we booked on ctrip and paid with a hotel, we have disputed the charges on that breakfast.  Not only did it seem like a rip off, the entire hotel staff seemed entirely unsympathetic.  No one wanted to help us, no one wanted to offer any service.  

I would love to go back and visit Shidu when it is green and there are more activities open, but I will stay away from Cloud Villa.

Poor service ruined a beautiful place, not worth the price

Great potential but at only 1 year since opening the signs of shoddy workmanship and poor maintenence are showing.  Leave it to the locals I say..............as a foreigner, it was rather difficult to get past the matted black hair and discarded centipede shells on the floor in the guest room - needless to say the traditional chinese 'hard as rock' matress came under close scrutiny for 6 legged friends and the towels deserve a good shake out before using.  It has it's market, but I am not in the target market - thanks but no thanks.  Big plus - amazing scenery but do it as a day trip.
