Clean, comfortable and in a good location to explore the surrounding Hutongs. It appears that it was recently remolded. The staff was friendly and nice enough, although you should know this is a no frills hotel. 

A few grips: Although they were giving away bottles of water to get phone numbers outside on the street, there were no complimentary bottles of water for the paying guests. Also, we were quiet sure they said there was parking, but there was not and parking is a BIG problem if you are driving to this area. One uncivilized guest was smoking in the hallway. The final issue was that the water in the shower was scalding hot if you turned it too high.

They have a relationship with a new bike shop (Pure Times) down the street that outfitted us with seemingly brand new bikes and a bike seat for my son. I'm unsure if there was a discount rate, but we didn't need to leave a deposit as hotel guests.

We stayed at the Orchid Hotel a few years ago and they had free bikes back then... The drinking water, parking and bikes are good things to consider when comparing hotels since we spent an additional +- 250 rmb on these things which some hotels give guests complimentary.

I honestly don't know how this hostel has a 93% rating. The location is great, but that's about it. The rooms are dirty and the bathrooms stink. I wish I had read a few review sites before booking here because it seems like other people have had the same problem with the staff speaking no English and them not having any record of my online booking. I'm sure there are better hostels in the hutong areas that are better than this.

Dirty and communication barriers.

There's a great staff, they speak both Chinese and English, they're ready to help with anything, comfortable rooms, good Wi-Fi in the hotel bar, easy access to the subway, shops, restaurants, a lively neighborhood, familiar to taxi drivers, a bus, no problem catching a car.

The hospitality hotel

A hotel situated in the middle of the city which offers clean rooms but with minimum facilities. The surrounding is serene, quiet and safe. It is within walking distance to Muslim restaurants and shops. Really a bonus to Muslim tourists. It is convenient to take a bus or tube from here to the famous tourist spots like Tiannamen Square and the Forbidden City. There are also many shopping malls and entertainment areas within walking distance. The hotel can arrange tours to see the Great Wall of China or other places of interest. It can  also arrange to see the famous cultural shows at reasonable prices.

Hotel Surrounded By Muslim Restaurants and Shops

The check-in took over an hour when the staff couldn't find my prepaid booking. Finally I found the Chinese phone number for the booking site, so they could confirm my booking. The staff hardly spoke english.

The door keys had to be programmed multiple times before they would work.

The rooms have no internet, even though it is advertised for the hotel. The rooms were worn and dirty.

How this hotel gets 100% on Tripadvisor is anyone's guess.

My friends and I stayed this hotel about three days. The staff at the front desk were great at handling many of the problems I ran into on my trip;The room is clean,and it was located in a very convenient location, I like it.
