We had a weeks accommodation booked at this hotel but only managed to last out 2 nights. 1st room we were offered was very dirty and shabby with mould all around the bathroom and cracked tiles. Luckily the lock on the door didn't work so we were given another room next door. This room was also shabby and the carpet was full of stains, the furniture very scratched and old and again the bathroom tiles are cracked and mouldy. 3 of the restaurants are closed down leaving only 1 open and this was supposed to serve international cuisine but we struggled to find any European food at breakfast. The pool and gym were closed and we were not even allowed to go to the floor they were supposedly on? The reception staff barely spoke or understood English and every night we had cards advertising ladies available for room service . There was also a supply of condoms etc in the room on the desk. The hotel is advertised as home from home for families but this would be a terrible place to take your family. We had booked some excursions before we got to Beijing and our guide said we were really a long way from the centre. In fact we were picked up at least 45 mins before the next pick up. We moved hotels after 2 nights and the hotel didn’t even ask us why!

Disappointing Hotel

The hotel was chosen by the travel agency that organized the tour to the Upper Mountains. The hotel is certainly very successful, near 2 metro stations and many attractions are relatively close and if there are free days and planning your time, this plays an important role. The rooms are standardly equipped, the only slippers are not one-time. Also, there are quite a lot of items in the room that can be bought for an extra fee, they are usually sealed and priced. Lighting is not enough, but this is a normal situation in principle for Beijing. Conditioning works great. But here is the dirt of course.

It's a great location, but the dirt will annoy even the most uncomfortable tourists.

Reception was very nice although very few of the staff speak English which made check in interesting. The restaurant had a good selection of food with cereal, fruit and yoghurt as well as extensive Chinese dishes. But the rooms were a little tired - my bathroom door couldn’t shut and the smoke smell was strong, they had trouble with the lights too.

Not a 5 star as we know it

On arrival at this hotel we (wife & I) thought this is something special, the reception area was so bright and so well decorated and with the reception staff and porters so helpful. 
Then we got to the room,  the carpet could have down with a clean and a splash of paint to cover drink spillage on the walls would have helped. The bathroom was a good size however  could have done with a bit of TLC. The room was cleaned and beds made up with fresh towels daily.
The staff in the restaurant were helpful and the food was very good and at a reasonable price. Overall this is a pleasant place to stay but could do with the rooms to be looked after a bit more.

Nothing Special

I read the reviews about this hotel an was a little apprehensive as I was staying there on an organised tour.  The doom and gloom merchants were wrong.  We were met at the door by two very helpful staff who removed our cases from the taxi.  The counter staff were quick and efficient but looked very serious.  We were taken to our room by a bel boy.  The room was large and airy very well equipped, clean and tidy.  Yes some of the furniture was a little tired but the bed was huge and extremely comfortable.  The room was quiet.  The food served at the restaurant was a mixture of Chinese and Western it was very hot, tasty and plentiful.  There were several other restaurants on site mainly serving Chinese food which we did not use.  Bar facilities were limited but you could get a G and T and a decent beer. There was a pool which our fellow travellers used and said it was fine.  Outside the hotel there were a few shops but it was mainly residential and business premises.
I would definitely stay again.

Surprised

Direct airport bus will stop 150meters away from this hotel. Smooth check in, with a security refundable deposit of 500yuan ( expensive ). Accomodation was fully equipped, 
Though room floor was designated non smoking, we had to almost daily at times, open the casement window momentarily,to let out faint ciggie smells from the centralised aircon. 
Wifi signal is stronger at lobby than in room. Being a business hotel, seminars,are held daily. KTV joint at 3rd floor, so expect many local patrons. Security personnels stationed at lobby and lift area. Reception does not have tourist maps available.
Buffet breakfast at 55yuan, spread was reasonable.
Plus factor :Shilihe Metro station at 300 meters from your right as you exit the hotel. Around that corner,  abundance of eateries, on your left, and a 3 level supermarket,on your right, 5mins down the road.

Pleasant stay

When I arrived at the hotel, the impression from the hall on the 1st floor was very good. I understand that the bright carpets do not wash up to their original state. The rooms were quickly settled. The hotel's Wi-Fi in the room without a password, the speed of transmission is average. And what was our disappointment when we entered the room. Such a dirty and crowded room I had never seen before. Even the Hotel 3* in Pattaya recalled with a kind word. I understand that the bright carpets do not wash up to their original state. Hall for five, number for two.

Of course it needs a more than urgent reform.The rooms look dirty, the bathroom looks bad, the wifi is bad, and I'm not going to talk about the room lights that no one understood, and then they sat alone in a nightclub and the only remedy was to light the light bulbs.The breakfast was very unpleasant for European taste.

It is lamentable.

Apparently I didn't have any luck, and the room wasn't new. Judging by it, the repair wasn't 10 years old: carpet in stains, old scraped furniture, yellow and sweaty plumbing, large stacks of enamel in the bathroom. The hotel obviously doesn't pull up to 5 stars, wouldn't give more than 4, and that's only at the expense of restaurants.

We need to repair the numbers.

It used to be a decent five-star hotel, but the best of times were 10-15 years ago. Now it's such a leathery, dusty, old-fashioned hotel in the middle of the lobby in a huge vase instead of living flowers. I think for those who understand what a five-star hotel in Asia is, I don't need to explain any further. Breakfast for five-star is very weak. I'm comparing it to other Beijing hotels, even with four-star hotels, and in the background there's practically nothing in this Chinese hotel. In addition, I've seen one that has to go in a hot tub with a hot tub, after which I've had to go to a two-minute walk to a hot tub with a hot tub.
