I was travelling to Beijing for a conference that is being held at CASIA which is very close to the location of this "Serviced Apartment". Since its price was the most affordable in that region and also it was available in the Orbitz, I reserved a room.
I arrived to the place at night and the nightmare started. There was only one security person in the entrance of the apartment that was not speaking English at all. I asked a few students that were passing by to help me communicate with the guy, but it did not help much. Anyways, I needed to stay at a nearby five star hotel that night since this was the only one that is available.

The next day, I went to this place again with a Chinese friend from the university. This time, we were able to talk to a person with financial responsibilities. However, they said that they did not receive any payment from Orbitz etc, so would not let me stay there. I asked if it is ok I make the payment now and stay there (I was so desperate..), they said the do not have any room available. Thus, I needed to find somewhere else for the remaining nights in Beijing.

In overall, my stay in Beijing was not pleasant, and this hotel experience had been one of the major reasons for that.

So, I would strongly recommend to avoid this place.

Not a hotel, at all...

My fiancee and I booked at the Mayson Serviced Apartments for his semester at Tsinghua University and it was a terrible decision.  We paid $6000 USD for 4 1/2 months, had our internet stop working on a weekly basis, had a waterbug problem in our shower/toilet area (as they are the same area), and had the pipe underneath the sink burst, covering our kitchen with dirty water.  All of this combined with the constant construction, the train tracks directly outside of the window, and nothing to cook on but a hot plate, we honestly could have saved the money and stayed in the states.  I understand that the living standards are different in different countries, but $6000 is a lot of money for the problems we had.  We actually were moved to a different apartment halfway through our stay because of the constant issues.

The only positives I can give to this place are that when you call for a problem (and you will), they respond relatively promptly.  Unless it is your internet.  That and the apartments are spacious, though not altogether comfortable, even with the roominess.
