The decor and concept (minimalist white) are a little old. It is a matter of taste, but the complete lack of maintenance (fresh paint, completely rusted windows, etc.) is not acceptable at this price. The hotel has nothing to do with the website that dates back over 5 years. There is no way to have a drink there for example. I doubt that the guides Wallpaper and Luxe recommend it still. The bed is good but like the condition of the bathrooms. As for the neighborhood, it is nice but very roots you need to know. Much more problematic: Beijing is a single priceless city where we don't see a single person.

very disappointing

Stayed here a few years back, but I'm sure I'd be guaranteed the same experience.  Awesome hotel in the most obscure alley in the old Hutong!  Beautifully decorated and furnished and great service.  A great contrast to the surrounding area.  Can't forget the American breakfast as well!  Will be back!

Stayed here back in 2011 - awesome small boutique hotel in the middle of a hutong.
The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance to the lake area which has tons of restaurants/ bars/ etc.  Highly recommended!

Great hotel / Amazing Hood...

Given the price I expected decent service. The place is nice (nothing more) but the service is bad. Minimalistic style that at first fascinates, but in fact very inefficient (clogged water the first day, shower that feeds everything, small sink). Everything managed by a lady herself nice, but obviously without any idea of how to run a hotel. She didn't rework the room, my daughter's bed was actually a leather sofa on which we had to fit beautifully between one that had to work from the tip and bottom (with repeated slipping to the ground during sleep), nightmarish breakfasts, western Chinese overalls. Everything you can take attached if you are in a BB, if you don't spend in a four European things, but maybe you don't have to sleep in a three or three, but maybe you can't sleep in a three or three, but maybe you can't sleep in a three or three, but you can't sleep in a three or three, but you can't sleep in a three or three.

Expensive price for mediocre accommodation

I stayed for one night in the 3 plus 1 Jade Suite (the Plus 1 room). It was pretty hard to find the Hutong since you entered it through a silver factory sliding door. Once inside, it's very modern with a cool minimalist design, which we liked! Our room was very large with a huge bathroom and bed. There's no TV, but a stereo with iPod connector. The bathroom and bedding etc. Everything was very clean and high-quality. What I thought was worth the room a little bit, were the strained walls with water damage and the very hard bed. There's a nice outdoor area that belongs at the end of the room, but there's no such thing as a clean bed. There's no TV, but a stereo with iPod connector. The bathroom and bedding etc.

That's nice, but...

We stayed here for one night in the Nephritis suite (number plus one). The hotel is hard to find among the hutons  at the entrance a silver sliding door like a factory. Inside we liked a very modern room in the style of minimalism  we had a very large room with a huge bathroom and a large bed. There was no TV, but there was a stereo system with an iPod. Very clean bathroom and bedding, just to the highest standard.

Stayed at 3 plus 1 for one night in the Jade Suite (the "plus one" room). 
Quite hard to find off the hutong as its accessed off a silver sliding industrial door. Once inside its very modern with cool minimalist styling which we liked! 
Our room was very large with huge bath and bed. There is no tv but a stereo with iPod connection provided. Bathroom and bed linen etc all very clean to high standard. What let the room down in my opinion was the tired looking walls some suffering from water damage and the bed is very hard. 
There is a nice outdoor space provided off the room but no furniture so you couldn't make use of it. 
I liked the styling and it was very clean however it is definitely overpriced. We paid 1960 rmb (nearly £200) including breakfast which is too much considering we also stayed at two other top rated hutong hotels which we preferred for half the price. 
Run by very friendly staff who provided nice touches like melon on arrival etc. There is also a free mini bar! 
To conclude we had a good but brief rest here but not sure we would return based on the pricing although this may be because we had a suite.

It's not easy to find, but it's part of the charm of hiding in a big city like Beijing. The 3+1 bedroom is hidden in a hutong, very central. It offers the friendly and traditional environment of the old city of Beijing, while the facilities and comfort are modern. The boss takes care of us like my grandmother. Definitely a nice hidden place to live away from the tourist crowds.

Intimate and welcoming 3+1

It's not easy to find, but it adds to the charm of hiding in a big city like Beijing. 3+1 Bedroom is hidden in a hut in the center. Here you will find the friendly traditional atmosphere of old Beijing, while the décor and convenience meet modern requirements. The manager took care of us like a native grandmother.

It offers the friendly and traditional environment of the old Beijing, while its decoration and comfort are modern. The ladyin charge is just looking after us like my grandmother.
Definitely a nice secret place to stay away from tourist crowds.
