When I was in Beijing, the experience I got was that I found prices much higher than those in Jinan. I made one incredible mistake of not asking prices before asking for something. If you as a traveler and you happen to feel like needing something from a shop or restaurant, you are advised to first ask for its price to avoid shock.

Comfortable bed

Location is good and it used to be good for the price, Very basic but ok. I stayed there in 2010 and 2011. In 2012 I left hotel after one night because it turned into a disgusting, smelly and dirty (love) hotel. A Chinese friend told me it will be closed within a few months. Staff was always friendly and tried to help.

One-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom furniture, four-bedroom dusty furniture, five beds changed every three days, six reception rooms always dirty, seven no elevators, and a room on the third floor, eight everything in the room is not clean.

It is a small three story building with no elevator.  Rooms are nice and clean.  Beds are comfortable.  The hotel does not have hairdryer in the room, but you can check it out at the front desk.  Staffs are very friendly and helpful, but speak limited English.  Subway station, Starbucks Coffee, restaurants and shopping area within walking distance.  You can also find local food, fresh vegetables and fruits in the nearby stores and street vendors at a very low price.

Lovely small hotel

This little hotel was recommended to us by a friend from Beijing and we were delighted.  All the rooms have been recently refurbished in a modern style and are large clean and comfortable.  The air conditioing was excellent and not as noisy as most we have encountered.  

The bathrooms likewise were well appointed of a good size, fresh and clean.  If you were wanting to be picky there is a shortage of drawer space and no wardrobe (hangers on the wall instead) and a mirror in the room as well as in the bathroom would have been useful. There is no hairdryer either.  

The hotel had no dining facilities but there are plenty of small eateries nearby.  They do not offer laundry facilities but directed us to one just up the street.

Like other Chinese hotels we have stayed at the hot water was not always abundant however there was hot water all day.  In other hotels a bit off the beaten track in China we discovered that hot water  was turned off for large parts of the day!

The staff spoke very little English but they were friendly, keen to help and they smiled - not a universal custom in Chinese hotels we have discovered.  In fact outside the big chains we found a number of hotels had a grudging attitude to guests .  China has a long way to go in the tourist stakes!

This is not luxury accomodation but the room rate was moderate and we negotiated a 20% discount.  We stayed for a total of 6 nights - using the hotel both on our arrival in China and again when we returned to Beijing on our way home.  I would certainly stay here again.
