Stayed here for 5 nights while waiting for my UK visa. Room was clean and area very quiet. Close to Embassy road and Visa offices. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price verVery acceptable for a budget visitor.

Not Bad at all.

I chose this place because of positive reviews I read. What a mistake! The staff didn't speak a word of English. I made a booking for my siblings and me on C-trip, but the same evening I was supposed to arrive, C-trip contacted me saying the hotel did not have me listed.

The rooms smelt awful! I don't know what it was. We all asked to change rooms. So, we moved from the 1st floor to the basement, and the rooms down there smelt even worse!

True, they give you free breakfast, but it's not even in the same building, and it's totally Chinese-style. We did not go back a second time.

The location is really not that great. Yeah, it's kind of in the city center, but there is really nothing near the hotel, except a pharmacy and a couple of convenient stores. Certainly no Western fast food restaurants or supermarkets.

The room service was okay. They cleaned and gave us 2 bottles of water per day, but they did not give us tea. My sister got tea the first day, but not afterwards. So, they are not consistent.

For the money I paid, I could have stayed at a better and more convenient place. In the future, I want to stay somewhere with a decent breakfast (like Jinjiang Inn), a better smell, and a more convenient location.

Never Again

The hotel room not good as it shows in pictures. Staff doesn't speak English. I had a BB package and for breakfast I was given a coupon to have food from out side which I didn't expect. Some time air conditioner doesn't work.

Staff friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Good basic food nearby, try the bbq opposite was great and cheap!  Also a few more sophisticated restaurants nearby. Great location. Rooms good size for just sleep and go out on the town. Free wifi in rooms. Great value for tourist. 

Nice and simple for international visitor

I've been living in China for about a year, so I'm a little familiar with hotels and I know what to expect.We booked this hotel because it's very convenient, just two stops on the subway to the center, and the price is cheap.The room was without windows, as we've read before.The shower water was not hot, which is very uncomfortable in Beijing in winter.

Rest in the Chinese New Year

This hotel is tucked away in a hutong in a nice part of Beijing.  Away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area but close enough on a subway to the attractions.

We needed a cheap room for an overnight stay and we knew this area so I chose this hotel.  When we checked in, the hotel staff were very nice but had limited English which fortunately wasn't too big a problem for us.  The room was a typical Chinese hotel room, the bed was typically harder than what we would have in the West but that's to be expected over here.  The room was clean enough and fully stocked with what you would expect a hotel room to have.  The only real complaint we had was the temperature of the room - it was freezing!  We tried the air conditioner but it wasn't working, I think we just caught an unlucky period between heating and air-con season!

Overall, a nice little hotel for a decent price in a nice area of the city.  Don't expect luxury because you won't find it here, but if you're looking for a bed in a decent area with some great restaurants and a western-operated brewery close by - give it a try!

Great location, just a little cold!

We were here for two nights when we visited Beijing. The rooms were small, but clean and state-of-the-art. I would recommend not having breakfast, because there are many small breakfast locations in the same area that we used every day. Right next to the main street, very nice and quiet. We had a small double bed with shower (just a little bit smaller for me, LOL), flat-screen TV. Very good location, only 1/2 block from the subway, and easy access to the Forbidden City.

Nice little hotel.

We stayed here for two nights when we went to Beijing. The rooms are small, but clean and renovated. I recommend that you take a room without breakfast, because in the same area there are many small establishments where you can have a great breakfast, which we did every day. The hotel is located in a nice quiet place, two steps from the central street. We had a royal bed, shower (although for me it's a little small, haha) and a flat panel TV. Great location: half a block to the subway station, and easy access to the Forbidden City.

This hotel is in the Hutong area, not far from the MRT. 7-11 is very close to the hotel. I stayed in an economy room with no windows, small but clean. The bed was solid and the pillow was made of some foam (which is strange). There was no Wi-Fi in the room. The hotel staff barely speak English, but they try to communicate with you. Most of the staff are friendly. I recommend this hotel in this area and recommend avoiding Atravis Express Hotel Dongsi Beijing.
