It's a horror, instead of a reception, two tables covered in scratch, the printer doesn't work, the room is terrible, the bathroom is not separate from the room at all, the ceiling is falling down, the neighborhood is just a horror, some ghetto, not far from downtown, no communications nearby.

Everything under renovation, smell of cigarettes everywhere, very noisy, it is hard to communicate in English. Good things: shops and very good eateries around, relativelly close to the Beijing West Railway Station.

I booked this hotel at the last minute and needed one with a low price.  This hotel definitely delivered. 

The hotel staff only speaks Chinese,  a friend of mine helped me check in and out.

The bed was not comfortable, it is your typical Chinese style bed - a box spring, no mattress.  The room is nothing special, and the 2nd to last day there, I received no toilet paper; neither did they fill my soap dispenser in the shower, nor did they give me any clean cups to drink from.  I had to wash one of my cups to have a cup of coffee after returning to the hotel.

The hotel has Western toilets and I had hot water for my shower even late in the morning.

I could smell smoke from my neighbors and could hear them from time to time as well.  Overall, the hotel was pretty quiet.

I will say that there are some good restaurants across the street and a fruit stand.  One place opens for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. - it serves only Chinese food.

In addition, it is about a 15 minute walk to Beijing Xi (West) Railway station.  It is located in a fairly quiet neighborhood, though near a main road so you will hear traffic noise,

If you can tolerate these things and are looking for a budget hotel, then I would recommend this one.  If not, find somewhere else.

I am uncertain what they mean by "Trends".

The wifi is okay.  The best times to use it are early in the morning or late at night.

Not really for Westerners

The hotel is pretty broken, but what's worse, it's dirty, breakfast tastes nothing at all, even the coffee is cold. If you want to go swimming, you need some kind of permit, so you can forget the pool (the customer is almost cheated here). For me, the hotel has a maximum of 1 star quality. You should definitely avoid it.

Hotel condition is old but even worst , very dirty, breakfast very bad, even the coffee is cold , as for the swimming pool you need to have a license, basically you can not swim there (cheating customer), the most is one star. Hotel to be avoided.

The hotel is already old, but worse, it's very dirty. The breakfast was terrible, even the coffee was cold. As for the pool, you need to have a permit, which means you can't actually swim there (client cheating). One star maximum. It's better to avoid this hotel.

It's a very bad hotel.

Location was horrible, took two taxi drivers to find the place. It's filthy and smells of cigarette smoke. One morning there was fresh spit on the carpet in the elevator! You really are living amongst the poorer scale of the population and you are forced to take a bus to the nearest subway. None of the staff speak a word of english, and even when you asked for it, the linen was not changed regularly. There were no cupboards at all in the room. The bed was absolutely the worst part of the entire experience. Hard, unforgiving springs bore into your body, preventing relaxation and sleep. The staff were indifferent and uncaring. The pictures are accurate, but hide the true nature of filthy conditions around and inside the hotel itself. The only salvation for the experience, was the restuarant outside of the hotel, which served affordable and delicious meals. In addition, the area itself, though old and run down, offered a truly unique experience. Though, I will never ever stay there again. However, if you are single and looking for a place to spend the night, this is it. The surrounding resturants and clubs only close in the early hours of the morning and the noise is unceasing and unyeilding to sleep and rest.

Cheap and you get what you paid for

Was in transit through Beijing and stayed here.  It took 3 taxi drivers to find this place even though it's not a new hotel.  Very basic place with the basic amenities.  Near many restaurants although it has an internal restaurant (didn't try).  High speed internet was available, but it was quite slow (ha ha).  A half-hearted attempt at a semi-open concept room.

It is near a train station, but is in the warrens of the city with not much else close to it.

The staff didn't speak english (but didn't matter to me as I spoke enough mandarin to communicate with them).  If you don't speak mandarin, you will have problems.
