  We spent two nights in this Hotel. 
Our room was quite large,with king single beds. The bed was very firm, this suited me , but not my husband. 
   There was a problem with the bathroom, where water flowed out from the shower, under the door and onto the carpet .  The carpet was already wet when we arrived , hence an awful odour. The problem was not fixed while we were there. 
   Our daughters room had a very strong cigarette smell, coming from somewhere. 
  The hotel foyer and dining room was quite grand. 
   The breakfast had plenty of choice and was quite enjoyable. 
   The staff had no English.

The location of the hotel is not exactly near central and definitely not near any metro stations. We actually walked a good 30mins to the metro station (Ji Jia Miao). It also doesn't help that this place is not near any shopping malls and you have to take a bus outside the hotel for a couple of stops (1-3 stops) before you get to any place decent to get some food to eat.

The in house buffet restaurant (Four Season Restaurant) could be better. There isn't much food variety. I stayed there for 4 nights and ate the same thing for breakfast and lunch for those 4 days (I was on conference). It also doesn't help much that the food is way too salty for my taste buds and on a few occasions, we had to speak to the chef who lowered the salt input a lil' bit - that made lunch more bearable.

On the rooms, I must admit - the only thing I like about the rooms is the space. I could easily opened up 2 of my big luggage and still have room to walk about and I appreciate that space. The bathroom was also spacious and I particularly like the space near the sink where I could lay out all my toiletries and cosmetics. :)

The bed may be a tad too hard if you are not used to it, and they use super single.

On the staff, I know some of them already tried their best, but most speaks limited English. This isn't a problem for me, since I speak more Chinese than I read. The only thing that irritates me the most is that when you are not done with asking for directions some other Chinese local guests will interrupt and demand to be checked in immediately. The staff (God knows why) was intimidated and actually served them first! There were 3 different occasions where I had to tell those Chinese local guests to wait for their turn and they were embarrassed. You just have to put your foot down or you will never be done with your queries.

Also, please take whatever maps you can from the airport - this hotel has limited maps in English FYI.

Overall, I think this is an average hotel - could be better considering this is a 4* class of hotel.

Room Spacious but...

The hotel itself is very nice. Beautiful and modern rooms with all the necessary facilities. The lobby is huge and this also applies to the dining room. The problem is that the hotel is relatively far away from most of Beijing's sights and not close to a subway station. So I think the hotel is mostly suitable for conferences etc. and less for tourists.

The hotel itself is very nice. Nice and modern rooms, with all the needed facilities. The lobby is large and so is the dining room.
The problem is that the hotel situated relatively far away from most of Beijing's attractions, and not close to a subway station.
So I guess the hotel will feet mainly for conferences etc., and less for tourists.

Nice hotel, but far away from the center

The hotel itself is very nice: nice modern rooms, the hotel has everything you need. The lobby is as big as the restaurant. The problem is that it is quite far from the main attractions of Beijing and the subway. So I think it will be more suitable for conferences than for tourists.

The most diplomatic review I can give is that this hotel simply is not up to the standards that a Western traveler may expect to find. I am not Chinese and am not writing from a Chinese perspective. A sign posted in the lobby states that the Chinese Tourism Association rates this property as four stars. With my Western frame of reference, I would rate this hotel as half a star and no more. The opinions in this review are all my own and are not intended to reflect the views of others (Chinese nationals) in my party nor are intended to inconvenience or bring difficulties to the owner of this hotel in any way, shape or form.

The hotel itself is an older property which features a large and ornate neon sign marking the exterior. The lobby was well-lit and, while worn, reasonably clean. Neither a doorman nor bellhop was present upon arrival, but this did not pose to be a problem as I was only in for one night and had only a piece of hand luggage which I could easily carry. 

Although front desk staff, both upon check-in and departure, spoke no English, the hotel attempted to counter this obstacle by providing printed cards to convey meaning to English speaking guests. The English on these cards, however, was simply gibberish and would have been no help whatsoever to somebody who did not have a Chinese speaker of English there with them, as I did, at the time of registration. Elevators were in clear view and were fast and efficient. However, both the carpet and mat on the elevator floor were filthy.

The room I was assigned was a small suite with a sitting room with a coffee table, two chairs and a sofa set facing a flat screen television, separate bedroom and large bath with soaker tub. Although this was a non-smoking room, the ashtray on the table held several cigarette butts and ashes. The hotel thoughtfully provided a lighter and I'm sure that the dirty ashtray was in place as a reminder that if I did choose to smoke in the room, I was not to throw my lit cigarettes on the carpet as several previous guests had done. In my view, hotel staff were just trying to prevent further damage to what was the most disgusting hotel carpet I've ever seen. Furniture was well beyond used to the point of no return. The flat screen television could only be controlled with a battery operated remote but batteries had been removed. To previous guests, the hotel did provide spare batteries for the remote control. For storage, they put them in the smoke detectors on the ceiling. Now removed to previously operate the remote control, a red no battery light flashed from the smoke detectors all night long -- one directly over the bed. Like the furniture, the bed was in dire need of replacement. The threadbare sheets looked like they hadn't been changed in some time and looked as old as the mattress.

Off the living room was a large balcony and the bedroom had two large windows yet both the balcony door and windows were bolted closed and could not be opened. 

The bathroom was well equipped with ample towels and toiletries provided including two small bottles of shower gel which I used to clean the sink and vanity. Water pressure was good and strong in the shower with ample hot water. The difficulty was that the bathtub itself leaked and water flooded the bathroom floor (even with the shower curtain inside the shower). With no drain on the bathroom floor, I sopped up the water as best I could with bath towels. 

With no ventilation and constant flooding from the leaking tub, there is little wonder as to why black mold is growing on room walls. Most likely realizing that guests would not want to spend all that much time in a moldy room, the hotel does not provide in-room Internet service but to compensate, they do offer a business center with hours going beyond the regular 9:00 - 5:00. However, hours are from 8:00 - 6:00, Beijing time and as I arrived at the hotel at nine in the evening Beijing time /  nine in the morning New York time, I had no way of getting any work done. The hotel, while on a bus route, is too far out from anywhere remotely resembling a city centre so wandering around at night to try and find an internet connection was out of the question. 

No food service in the hotel is available after nine o'clock in the evening and, as I arrived at nine o'clock, went to bed without supper. Again, to compensate, a  complimentary breakfast is served at the hotel from seven unil nine o'clock in the morning. However, as the hotel is so far from major business districts, guests with nine o'clock business meetings would need to be on the road before six o'clock in the morning (either by bus, car or taxi) to major business districts and would be unable to take advantage of breakfast. 

This hotel offers a standard room for 500 RMB per night and is one hundred RMB less than most other hotels in its class. The mosquito infestation notwithstanding, you'll probably get much more elsewhere.
