The reception is friendly, the place is well-maintained, but the set does not have the appeal that the photos evoke. The courtyard is very small, so it is not very bright. The location is a bit difficult to find.

Nice, but a little basic.

Positives:
+room bigger, nicer and cozier than expected
+bed extremely wide, comfy big pillows and sheets
+bathroom better than expected

+very pleasant hotel workers, spoke very good english
+we could leave our luggage there

+recommended if you want something more special than a regular hotel, when you really want to feel like you are in China in Beijing and see the real hutong life around you
+unique area in hutongs but still close to the big street
+very quiet residential cultural hutong area
+hutongs area should be very safe and felt very safe
+hotel easy to find with iphone maps, shows you the exact location (but not on google maps) 

Negatives:
-nearest metro was 1km away
-no hotel location in google maps (but exact location in apple maps)

Very cozy hotel in hutongs

The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the metro station, but you can also walk to the forbidden city, which is about 3 km away, giving yourself a pleasant walk in a very lively and suggestive neighborhood of Beijing.

Unique experience

While hard to locate initially, this little spot is well located both for its quietness despite being located near a busy road and access to shops (although, if it's quiet enough, you can hear 'noisy' guests next door; awkward! Keep this in mind for honeymoon trips). 

Our room was clean and comfortable with soft beds. Bathroom came with toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo and body wash. There were slippers and towels provided. 

The courtyard was quaint with overhanging grapevines and large bundles of grapes. Bottled water and laundry services are free, which was handy and there was fridge space for food in case you order too much takeaway like we did. 

Check in is 24 hours; a godsend for us as our flight was delayed and we arrived in Beijing at 4am.

However, when we asked for a "room make up" they only took out the bins and made the bed. Towels and sheets weren't changed. This might be off putting for some. 

Good location and comfy

I've stayed here for a 3 nights after our arrival in Beijing. The hostel is right in the middle of the small streets, the Hutongs. This gave us the feeling of being in a small village instead of a city. Restaurants and bars are just arround the corner. 
The rooms were basic, but have all the needs you wish for. At night everything is quiet, perfect to come over your jetlag. Good wifi, airco, slippers etc are provided. Cleaness is ok. free water bottles. 
All rooms look to a small courtyard. 

The hotel reception looks a bit strange at first, but serve all the help you need during your trip. 
The fake flowers in the shower you just have to take along...

Village feeling in Beijing

Nice hostel with big clean rooms and great facilities. We had a lovely time there and would definitely recommend this as a very convenient and value for money guesthouse in the traditional part of Beijing.

Lovely guesthouse, in the heart of the hutongs

stayed here for 3 nights. Good location, large room, good and ancient style furniture, room is fairly clean. I like the bed. the yard can be better. The yard's gate is not the style I expected, and is not the normal courtyard gate, too small. staff is friendly

interesting place for its price

Very difficult to find. Well situated, comfortable but in case of rain breakfast (succinct) is taken standing in the lodge of the guardian who lives, sleeping in the small entrance of the hotel. It is better to go to the café opposite.

Good location but modest services

It's a wonderful place for a six-day vacation in Beijing. It's small, characteristic, clean. Wifi works perfectly and the very nice owners who helped us solve our problems.

The charm of hutongs

This small super well located rental once we found it is of good quality price. The place is not extraordinary, but it remains pleasant and quiet just a few steps away from the Hutongs' animation. The staff is nice and helpful. Washing their laundry is free!!! As well as mineral water... On the other hand, breakfast, included in the fare, is not one... But having a coffee remains pleasant.
