I'm only staying overnight but the hotel is very nice to rest before a little excursion on the Great Wall, I 'll go back without hesitation

Very good

A great hotel in the centre of the embassy area, a Chinese chain, then little known in Europe, with a good price-quality ratio, a great and economical hotel restaurant, and we travelled in four, two adults and two children aged seven and three, and we were very well advised.

Clean and comfortable

This hotel had advantages and disadvantages. The reception area was nicely decorated and the staff was friendly. The rooms were of good size and the furniture was fine, but everything had to be cleaned and renovated well. The carpet was old and dirty and had to be sucked up. The bathroom was fine, but the corners and the shower curtain were molded. The beds were nice and clean but very hard. We had a breakfast can to take with us (20 RMB per person), which contained a hard-boiled Chinese egg, some ham, two slices of sweet white bread and some sweet milk.

Advantages and disadvantages

This hotel had pros and cons.
The reception area was nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly.
The rooms were nice size and the furniture was okay, but everything was in dire need of some thorough cleaning and upgrading.
The carpet was old and dirty and needed vacuuming.
The bathroom was okay, but the corners and shower curtain were moldy.
The beds were nice and clean, but very hard.
We had a breakfast box to go (20RMB each), which contained a hardboiled egg, some ham, two slices of sweet bread and some milk.
Right around the hotel are some nice areas for those of you who like authentic Chinese markets - to the right (behind the coal burner store) there is a large in- and outdoor flea market with tons of clothes and shoes, as well as some electronics and bags and such.
To the left (at night) there is a whole street filled with street vendors selling the yummiest fresh fruit, produce and homemade snacks.
All together I think the hotel is fine, but no more than that.
The area around the hotel is fun, if you are into this type of neighborhoods.

Pros and cons

This hotel has both advantages and disadvantages. The reception is nicely decorated, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are quite spacious and equipped with good furniture, but they need a thorough cleaning and modernization. The carpet turned out to be old and dirty, it should have been dusted. The bathroom is acceptable, but the corners and in the shower have found mold. The beds are quite normal and clean, but too tight. The breakfast menu includes scrambled eggs, a little branches, two pieces of meat and a pie.

I stayed here for business a couple of weeks ago and it was a pleasant experience. Staff was friendly and attentive, the rooms were quite spacious and clean. Best of all, we got a special price through our host company in China. The decor was somewhat traditional but I was not too bothered by it. Would stay here again in the future.

Ok hotel, good deal overall.

I am totally disappointed by the poor standard of this Hotel, the room was very dirty espically in the bathroom, the hotel swimming was broken . the only good thing in this hotel was the reception decoration, however, it can not  delievery the promise for any value of the money,  additional, i even found the medicine for mouses from the hotel emergency stair.

I can not believe how this hotel can charge over 50 euro per night !!!!!!! do not believe the agent from Beijing Airport . instead 3 nights in Yu Yang Beijing, i changed hotel to Cheng Yuan. much better!!

Miss Ge

A business associate and I stayed at the Yu Yang in March '06--and found the experience to be quite good. Room decor is a bit dated, but clean, spacious, and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with updated fixtures, and fresh towels and bedding were the norm.
Rooms are equipped with an ethernet hookup, and internet access was easy and relatively inexpensive.
Reception, concierge, and bell staff were very pleasant and accommodating.
The "Western Coffee Shop" offered an excellent breakfast buffet daily, with a variety of traditional Asian and Western fare. Since breakfast is such an important meal--I found great satisfaction with this.
The location of the hotel is convenient--10 min walk from subway, 15 min walk from Santilun (Embassy) district and Lufthansa Center. I enjoyed the neighborhood--there are 3 great restaurants right across from the hotel, a well-stocked convenience store, and a relaxing massage parlor. The neighborhood is varied, and offers some great opportunities for exploration.
I enjoyed my stay at the Yu Yang, and recommend it to the budget traveler.


Good Hotel for the $

A Chinese travel agent put our small conference in this dreadful hotel Worn and dirty it was very depressing. The worst part is that the conference paid very high rates because the American Chinese travel agent used a Mainland Chinese travel agent who also added a huge fee. 
I made the duty manager show me other rooms in the hopes of finding a cleaner and less depressing one. After nine rooms I choose a slightly cleaner room that had a working toilet and toilet seat, 
The hotel is located very inconveniently in the second ring.
