Yueda Hotel is definetely not recommended to use it for western people. Rooms are very much used even using the better rooms with living room etc. but hard bed and dirty carpet and floors starting from corridor to the room make it not worth to stay. Outside very noisy through horning cars since the hotel is directly located at  road crossing. Breakfast is very chinese style and less possibility for western to get some acceptable food . Cleannes is not on a very high standard and not recommended to eat there. As the better solution it is recommended to stay in a new 5 star hotel in Yancheng. Since 
Yidu Jinling Grand Hotel (5 star)  is available western standard is also available in Yancheng. The much better solution as to stay in Yueda Hotel.

Yueda Hotel not recommended

The hotel boosts that it is the finest 4 star in Yancheng. Easy to say when there is very little else around. The lobby is beautiful but then it goes down hill. The rooms might make 3 stars in the third world, maybe.... Mattress is as hard as a rock slab and the pillows like mush. So you wake up with a crooked back and a stiff neck. Water runs hot and cold at its own will which gets interesting in the shower. Floor is filthy and I would not walk on it even in socks. A/C is barely enough to cool the room to livable conditions. The rooms are very noisy with outside traffic with all the Chinese drivers using their horns as if the earth moves when they honk!

On the plus side the hotel restaurant is very good. Food is clean and reasonably priced. The decor though runs from French [--] meets Chinese Gaudy. Lots of gold, blue, gray, brown and allot more gold. Get the picture! Staff is very friendly and courteous but English is non existent.

Would I stay there again...probably not. The Yingzhou is quieter and less expensive 1/2 block west.

4 star? Where?

Spent 3 weeks there and was very happy with this hotel. Staff was very helpful. They even offered to bring KFC food to my room if I got tired of eating Chinese food (I didn't). I was given a very large room, probably a free upgrade. The hotel also have a glass elevator which offers a nice view.

There isn't much to visit in YC. You can go to a natural reserve to observe birds (moslty storks) and deer. It's in the coastal wetlands and humidity is 100%.. There is also a very interesting fish museum nearby.
