Yongkang

Previously, it was Yongkang Pearl and was very old.  However, after change to BW chain, rooms are renovated above my expectation.   Room structure is the same as before, but all are new.  Breakfast is extremely good with lots of variety.

Stayed at this hotel a long time ago, rooms have been well re-done.
A great night sleep, big room, bathtub, shower, didn't even need to get my phone charging cable out of my bag... It's all provided.
Very happy here.
Reception staff speak some English and will give you a smile.
Breakfast is typical Chinese, but to be expected.
Will be staying here again in the future.

Very happy, re-vamped rooms

The hotel has a massive problem with cleanliness - both in the room and in the breakfast room. The internet speed is reminiscent of old-fashioned times. The staff was trying but slightly overwhelmed.

Lack of cleanliness

I can only guess Best Western only recently acquired this hotel. I bet the previous owner was only happy to get rid of it. Old hotel, needs renovation, poor air con system, 1-2 of staff that can speak a little English, no one at the reception who can. They are very strict with the breakfast times, at 9am sharp they close the doors and there is literary nothing available. If you do get there before 9 am, expect cold fried vegetables, spring rolls, old fruit and stale bread. At dinner time, I can only describe the restaurant t as filthy, hygiene is not a word that they know here. Not many options to find a good restaurant in the vicinity, you have to order a taxi or walk around 2km. So unless you are on a diet or bring your own food, i don't recommend anyone to stay here.


Below standard, awful breakfast 

Cons : The interiors are average. 
Room is very dull. No good lighting. 
And everything in the room is chargable. Only 2 small bottles of water are given, and rest are charged : 10 RMB

Pros : The hotel restaurant is nice. 
Lots of variety of food. 
Hotel staff is friendly
With google translator, you can converse with them. 

Average hotel

I read all the other posutiveish reviews and wonder what Pearl Hotel they went to,this hotel is your average four star overpriced Chinese hotel that is dirty and smells of tobacco,the room was small,shower was not even hot and no separate shower cubilcle,so water ends everywhere,bed hard as stone
These guys just ride on the fact they they are next to the rail station and its almost the only option in Yongkang,a heavily industrial city with lots of business visitors,nothing else,in any other environment they will nor survive

THE POTEMKIM HOTEL

The rooms, if you choose the most expensive (though the prices are not high) are acceptable, the cheapest or the most average have a bathroom, very small and not well maintained and do not have the shower, practically washing the bathroom is fully lit. The furnishings of the room are a bit old and very spartan, the cleaning in the average. Even the breakfast below the average.
